Aluminum Jamb Liner Removal and Installation

This is a great video. If you have the clearance can those vinyl jamb liners be used as a retrofit for failing aluminum ones? Can you share details about who supplies vinyl jamb liners like that?

Vinyl liners will work. You have to make sure they are for the correct thickness of your sash because they make more than one thickness. The vinyl liners a a little thicker than the aluminum so you might have to trim the edge of your sash depending on the width of your particular opening. There are several companies you can check with online. Strybuc, Blaine, Swisco. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the great and very informative video. The fly in the ointment with my installation is the stool, which prevents removal. Any thoughts on whether it's better to remove the stool, or just pull the outside stops?

One of my windows has this, can I change it to a spiral one just like the other windows

Yes, you can change the jamb liner type window to a spiral balance window, they would already have the 5/8" x 5/8" dado down the edges.
