I have a non mechanical trolley. Carrying with my old body starts to get to my back. Would love an electric trolley but I would like one with storage compartments, a cup holder, maybe a seat and one that has both remote AND follow mode. The GPS is nice but I have loads of data to compile that with ARCCOS and my range finder.
I've had my FX7 GPS for nearly a year, fantastic little machine, makes life so much easier on the course. I did have issues with the Powakaddy accessories though, they're not built as well as the cart, my Powakaddy umbrella holder and bottle holder both broke. I ended up buying an All In 1 accessory from Stadium Golf, it holds everything you ever use on the course and it's umbrella holder is really solid
Enjoyed that Alex&Dad. I have a Powacaddy CT6, very similar. The drive forward trick is a time waster during play. 1. The electric motor is under the trolley, if you drive through a puddle thats over say 4inches you will kill the motor. I did this and to Powacaddy credit they repaired it for free. Lesson is avoid water, you just don't know how deep puddles are. 2. The brolly holder (extra) struggles to stay vertical, even if very tight. Any wind and it will pull the whole trolley over. So it is well balanced but add a brolly and it adds another dimension. 3. Careful travelling up fairly steep hills in the wet. The trolley will continue chugging up the hill, if you slip it will pull you forward and woops your down and the trolley continues because its NOT a "dead mans handle" operation. 4. Scorecard holder / Drinks holder are extras also. 5.Mine fell from the car boot (OK my fault!). It landed on the hinge joint where there are pull off caps. The cap and joint are damaged and now to fold the trolley away, I have to push my thumb into the hinge to release the locking pin. I guess this cant be fixed as its broken the spring retainer. 6. If you pack the trolley away in the bag, it wont zip up properly of you have a scorecard holder and a brolley holder attached. The bag is designed for just the trolley. To remove the items each session would be a huge task as they connect via a long bolt through an adaptor. 7. Charging the battery is a bit of a "Faff". You have to remember to press the battery on button once you hook it up or it wont charge. 8. Yes I would buy one again despite all this, but I need to remember they are made by Powacaddy not Landrover! I wouldn't buy the travel bag.
I use the MGI remote trolley it has not got GPS but most of us have a watch or range finder these days, i can send it in the direction my ball went which is brilliant as i do not have to keep guessing while walking so i can chat to my playing partners, its compact and very easy to unfold and the standard battery can do 27 holes of golf no problem.
I carry during winter and trolley in better conditions. That said looking at that trolley , I'll stick with my motocaddy M7 and s62 watch. I like the remote option and wider axle
Cart user, around me is 5000- 7000 yard hilly courses around me so a big shock for flat land 5000 yard golf. another question is push or motorized. I enjoy the exercise of pushing the trolley I have Caddy trek, push which I love, also I was offered an unused cart electric cart for £20 spotless but 6-7 years old in a garage needed a £60 for a lithium battery and it was off : ) I have the Golf Pad app £20/yr on my phone that fits to the front of teach trolley, let me see the distance to hole and club choice, on my Galaxy1 watch too. Both have pros and cons, but the fact you can see shot distance, wind info, club choice and play like very handy when your chasing breaking 80 every time. I would buy that unit you have if I had my current system, spread over 5-6 seasons, which a quality unit will do, it is not expensive £2 per round?
Cart for a slow game and carry for a quick run about. Love a powakaddy, and IMO the FX5 is the best, the compact is handy but not necessary, GPS.....I love my shotscope v3. The FX5 is the middle ground powakaddy, no 'faff'....just a solid buy!
Hi Alex, how much is it? I’ve been considering one of these for a while however the misses already thinks I’ve spent too much on golf. As I have a cart that you drive (mainly for my home course as it’s also used to drive to the club house for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have a basic standard trolley, plus 3 bags (inclusive of the back pack style you have, which I’ll use if I’m travelling with a couple of mates in the same car to a different course (or on holidays). I’ve had trouble convincing the misses as I can’t really justify it (just like more toys). However, with the dash this one comes with I might have a different selling angle to use. Even tho she will say I have a range finder and all the maps listed on an app on my iPhone… 🤔. 👍😎🇦🇺
How do the equivalently priced motocaddy trolleys compare.... I have a motocaddy S1 but looking to upgrade. Would have just gone motocaddy.... probably an M3 but wondered who they compare ?
Would love to see some sort of brakes for hilly courses. A lot of time wasted trying to find a spot sideways on a slope to avoid the electric trolley running away on its own. Slows play down. One word of caution. I know at least one of the major electric caddy manufacturers quality has been a nightmare for the last two years. Not acceptable considering the price they expect us to pay. Talk to your local pro before buying is my advice. Like the quietness and features and agree with boot space issue you raised. Compact when folded down needs to have more importance with the makers.
Riding cart ... rare i walk 9 with a push cart. too ancient .. too tired .. too sick .. would love an electric trolley .. but $1200 for the stripped down version in the states... not this year .. doubt it for next decade. thanks AE
Looks nice but I have the C2 for when I am playing away and have an electric trolley included in my membership when at home. It would be bit too big for me to lug around in car as generally 2 or 3 of us in a car with trolleys bags clothes etc so need it smaller
@@AlexElliottGolf really good. Mine is a few years old (very thoughtful bday present from my wife) and its perfect for my use. There a little bit of travel around the handle area as u mentioned in the video but not enough to hinder me from being in control or stopping it from going over. Battery is excellent and the size is gr8 plus I got the bag it fits in so boot stays clean. Been tempted to buy a stewart golf (the new smaller ones) but I keep reminding myself absolutely no reason to change this one
The worst feature... and i own this one too is that going up hill it might stall and fall backwards onto the handle ... break it... damage screen... and such ... ALSO is only real good on flat courses .... it falls over easily if ur holding onto it on bumpy courses.... it needs to be wider and also heavier in the front area.... BUT damn i love this trolley ... and of course i love the breaks on it ... downhill and all.... but problems can happen on side slopes ...
@@AlexElliottGolf I have a powakaddy but its about 15 years old and its not as stable as it used to be but they are so expensive it is hard to justify buying a new one espcially as i have only got back inot golf this year from a 10 year break
*what do you do? CART OR CARRY??*
Use a Powakaddy 7s.

this review finally gave me all the answers to my questions ref the trolley -great review

I have an older version of that trolley. Love it, works great! No complaints. By far most popular one at my course!
Does this trolley have cruise control, or do you have to push the button the entire time you’re walking with it? Thanks.
Hey mate!! Great review!!! Would you recommend this over a remote control trolley?? I’m hesitating between the ct6 or the Mgi navigator.
Thanks
I use the MGI remote trolley it has not got GPS but most of us have a watch or range finder these days, i can send it in the direction my ball went which is brilliant as i do not have to keep guessing while walking so i can chat to my playing partners, its compact and very easy to unfold and the standard battery can do 27 holes of golf no problem.
I recently bought a PowaKaddy CT6 and am very happy with it. I also am waiting on a BJM putter grip.

If it was remote controlled that’d top it off, I hate having to walk behind trolleys like that all the time. Lovely trolley though
I got my cart 20 years ago for $19.95 at a sporting goods store. No batteries. No GPS. Just me, pushing or pulling it. I still use it to this day. lol
I have the mgi zip navigator at Costco bundle it’s like a dream come true feels like I’m walking on a cloud

I play faster with the cart . Have the FS7s. No frills. Solid. Only complaints are no brake and needs a neutral gear so you can tow it!

Thanks! Good points here, the power caddy is around £700
Nice video, dos it have brake on it? as play a lot of hilly courses and would b essential, thanks
Great vid.was fearing for the Ricky fowlers when the trolley did a runner😂
loving your videos, thank you.

Got a 2021 M3, trolly it’s fantastic, biggest regret I have did not get DHC as I was impatient with covid supply issues
@@MrLittlejonboy Good to know.... cheers. I was already leaning towards m3 so bought the matching bag at Xmas
How responsive is the touch screen when it’s raining ?
During the winter I like carrying
Still really responsive
Cart / Trolley all day long. My back aches enough from the walking and slapping a ball around 18 holes, let alone carry a bag for the duration !!

I have the mgi zip navigator at Costco bundle. I haven’t noticed anything but a quality product that will last years. Mgi is good
I prefer to carry or use a full cart. It is a nice device though. Thank you.
Carry winter
Trolley prefered all other times
I dont love the slick tires. Wish it had treads for various reasons.
you could be the James Bond of Golf, The man with the Golden clubs 😉

Great review Alex. I just wish I could afford one lol
Can you do an updated video for the ct8
Great idea!!
definitely going to look at this could be perfect for me
Very nice, but getting one is very expensive for a lot of people 😎
I have to older version FW7 with a black and white screen
Lovely trolly Alex top of the range stuff, but I carry mine

If money is no object sure
I would like to have a side car so I would not have to walk! That's why I use a power cart.
I use a tourtrek
Always carry. Respect you golf course. The damage trolleys do to UK courses.
that is a very good point Justin - do you carry in the summer too?
Not remote control!!!😀😀😀
Great trolly, unfortunately poor quality and completely dead after 2 years and 2 months. So no warranty and an additional £300…. :(
And never ever seen one like that
Aw, I thought it was going to be a giveaway.
Hahaha that would be a good one 👀
It's missing a seat.
Competition time.
Motocaddy all day long, the quick click bag leaves the rest behind

Ah yes…little biddy British cars! Get a US or German SUV and you’ll have plenty of room Alex. Or a Dodge Ram pickup…just sayin’. LOL
SUV's are the work of the devil! :)
