Thanks for the vid bud. I'm in Buffalo N.Y where we have a historic blizzard. Thousands without power . tragically responders are finally able to reach people stranded in cars and homes but in some cases are too late.. The death count is 12 and surely will be more. I've been thru several blizzards but this one is scary. Please send prayers

Someone taught me a long time ago and it has worked for me that when fishing top water. If something hits your spook but doesn't take it, let it sit still for about 2 seconds and twitch it again. I was told that the first strike is meant to disorient the bait and they'll sit under it waiting to see which direction the bait is going to go before they try to eat it. Hope this trick works for you as well as it has worked for me.
Yeah I’ve successfully done that for Striped bass and bluefish. Sometimes Striped will hit it with their tail then swing back around and eat it. I’ve never seen Snook do that and generally once the side to side walking action stops most Snook lose interest.

Hey Trey, I believe it’s called the Rod Up Rod Mount Rack. And I think it got it from Bass Pro or Cabelas. But if you search that name on Google you should be able to find it.
Why does no one use plopper style top waters in salt water?
Two of the best channels on the tube. Both embrace how cool big Jacks are instead of the cool guys who bitch about jacks. Not sure how anyone who has ever caught a big one could not totally be obsessed with the bigs. Hardest pulling dude you will ever catch. MERRY CHRISTMAS

I'm a non-floridian binging youtube fla fishing in anticipation of an upcoming trip. Why do you guys toss the Jacks back so much? Are they bony or something?
Have you had people on shore come out to yell at you for being too close to docks and lawns?
It happens but not as often as you would think. A lot of the big houses on the water don’t even have anyone there but even if they do. As long as we’re not touching their dock or land they don’t have the right to say anything. Some people will let out their dogs to bark a lot at you which is annoying.
@@FishAholicTV Sometimes I’ve seen you go under a dock, and it seems like if there is a boat tied up there or hauled out, the owners would get real suspicious.
I’ve never fished Florida, but learning a lot watching your vids. I’m a fish bio, so I’m interested in the different species and their behavior. I mostly fish steelhead here in the NW.

Merry Christmas! It's amazing how snook populations have recovered from the 70s. Snook were much rarer back then.
Hey Merry Christmas George!! Yeah the fishery is pretty good. But I didn’t grow up fishing for them like I did Striped Bass and other species up north so I can’t compare them and now for Snook.
Are Jacks good eating? Must not be.
Watched TV host/ chef Andrew Zimmern catch, clean and eat them. He and two other guys enjoyed them.

Are Jacks bad to eat? Never caught one and all the videos I watch they always get thrown back.
I have never ate them so I can’t say. I know some people eat them though. Some day they have worms.
I hope the cold front doesn't affect the bite too hard.

@@andrewrollins4898 thanks for the info. I've fished them a few times and they are definitely one of my favorite fish to catch down there. Catch and release majority of the time.
