Raising taxes to corporations, highest income earners, or to the 1% would eventually trickle down to the middle and lower class citizens. Just like increasing minimum wage to $20 per hour, consumers ended up paying more to offset labor cost. Increased in taxation discourages economic investment, innovation, and consumer demands.

How about the ones like the guy I waited on a few years ago who when I was working two jobs told me I was doing it wrong? He told me and he was a young white man that he and his wife are married they live together but they tell the government they don't live together he's a deadbeat dad and does not contribute to the family. How about the fact that income tax was supposed to be a temporary thing until we got beyond the debt from one of the wars we were in? It was never meant to be permanent. And they simply increase it all the time instead of stopping it because they found out how rich they could get off of our backs

Income taxes at any level is regressive. I'd rather pay higher consumption taxes than been taxed based on how much I make. These "tax the rich" or "pay your fair share" is punishing financial and/or economic success and it also encourages lower productivity and less spending on innovation

Taxing the rich is a tale as old as Robin Hood. Asking a venture capitalist whether or not he thinks increasing the capital gains tax from 15% to 45% is a little TOO obvious though, isn't it? I'm not saying I agree with it; I think it would ultimately hurt lower-income Americans because it would eliminate a TON of job creation, but the bigger problem is how it would just give the US government more money to waste. That would be like buying a drunk a whole truck full of beer.

Most of the young Americans are struggling. And, middle age Americans have family fixed expenses; mortgage, loans, children's tuition, etc. In addition, salary is not increasing. Retirees have fixed income from SS. All government can do is cut budget, not borrowing money. Not engage wars or supply wars. It is easy to spend more, but it is hard to cut spending. By the way, how does government keep those business staying in the US. Big corporations are not going to stay with a sinking ship.Printing more money doesn't work!
