Finally got the chance to watch this breakdown! Awesome as usual! The part about the AT-AT blew me away, haven't seen that anywhere else! Also good looks on shouting out CJ at the end! Love the conversations we are having with people on the live show!
I watched the trailer hours after it released as I was asleep when it dropped. But when seeing it I was filled with excitement, I couldn't believe that Thrawn, Morgan, Barris, The Fourth Sister, Marrok, TOTJ Sixth Brother And The Grand Inquisitor were all in the same show. I'm not big on The Grand Inquisitor's design. I was never really bothered by his appearance in Kenobi and I like they are using his armour from it in this show, I am disappointed they aren't using the cape or badge from it though. I am not also overly huge on his clone wars style. In the shots where hes training Barris with the green lightsaber he looks way too cartoony to me, the shadows just smooth him out. And the eye tatoo's are really bothering me. They are way too small, even Kenobi got it to the point where it looked right. But I'm just glad to see The Grand Inquisitor back. He is my personal favourite Star Wars character and you already know it by this point that I love me some Inquisitor action so I am very pleased that we get to see him wrecking up Barris. I think it would be nice if they shared a moment about Barris being the one that turned The Grand Inquisitor to the Dark Side. If Barris ends up turning away from the Inquisitorius (Which I hope she doesn't) I think that would be some great pressure that her speech has made someone so intelligently evil. I'm still holding out to see The Grand Inquisitor absolutely wreck up some Jedi's day. I've said it many times at this point but Kanan only ever won once against him, which was his death. Every other fight he had against Kanan and Ezra was always him winning, it was only ever outside sources or their decision to run that made him unable to capture them. He is really more skilled than people give him credit for.
I cannot believe they are all in the same show together! I think with TGI's design it's just different strokes for different folks when it comes to animation. In live-action, I just felt very let down by Kenobi, based on how Pau'ans looked amazing in ROTS and Kenobi just looks extremely lackluster and kind of rushed in a way. It's just a lot of simple things that could've been fixed that would've made it 100x better imo. That honestly, is a lot of the case with Kenobi in general. Like I said though, it's all personal preference. I don't think Barriss would step away (hopefully not) It would feel like a shitty reason for bringing her back then. TGI is right up there with Dooku when it comes to combat, he is severely underrated when it comes to fighting and I hope we see that come to light in this show. (I think we will)
The animation will soon be as good as live action. I'm all for it too. Great catch on the Elite Squad. I didn't even notice, but I knew you would. As for Mother Talzin, if they use her, it would be yet another retcon from her death in "Sons of Dathomir." If they want to bring her back, I'm fine with that. Just think the Mountain Clan Sisters, the two standing beside Morgan, would have their own "Mother" member. Mother Talzin kind of sank off in the Clone Wars episode "Genocide," leaving Ventress to herself. But yeah, it would mean bringing in a new character (new animation asset), but this new "Mother" could be quite useful later (if she survives) in the Thrawn and Nightsisters' return to Dathomir. Let's see. Possibility that we also may see Marrin (Jedi Survivor) her as part of the Mountain Clain. Wow, I totally missed that about the precursor Imperial Walker. The Grand Inquisitor's head never stays the same shape. Obi-Wan's was too small, Reva's [or Third Sister's] was too long, now we have one that appears to be just right (hold on, was that the Three Bears fairytale?). Nothing seems to come close to the real head seen in Revenge of the Sith. The training room has all this iconography/ruins on the walls. But they seem elementary/immature for a real Sith temple. It seems the Grand Inquisitor is just initially testing Barriss to see if she's viable. So your guess that this may be the Sith temple below the Jedi Temple is probably correct. Why would the Grand Inquisitor endanger someone who might rat on him if they weren't accepted? The location on the Venator is plausible for your reasons, but we'll see. The lightsabers on that table may be the ones we see later on in the display cases on the Obi-Wan show. Yeah, the Grand Inquisitor dodging Barriss's strikes was so similar to Kanan's when I saw it the first time. Thanks for editing that clip for comparison. The scene with the magistrate and the New Republic officers was animated so well (like you said, baffling). It really looks exactly like the one we saw on The Mandalorian episode "The Jedi." I freaked out when I saw that. I wonder if they used the Unreal Engine animation for the Volume project for this animated version to make it so real. When Morgan fights Grievous, there's one instant where she looks up at him like she knows he's too strong for her. I think she bails and runs all the way back to that previous scene you mentioned. I believe she's coming close to being defeated, then at the last moment, the person with the great power to blow over those super battle droids is a new "Mother" from the Mountain Clan (from the closed captions title as that voice talks to Morgan). I think this "new mother" will train Morgan and the two sickles will be melted down into the one Beskar spear. So far, no one, and I repeat, no one has caught that Jedi with the blue lightsaber as Master Luminara. What a catch! And I suspect Barriss will kill her, making her later appearance in Rebels more impactful. The remainder of your breakdown, I agree with. As for Vader's appearance, here's my thought: The Grand Inquisitor introduces this new set of recruits to Vader. Vader recognizes Barriss. As we know, Vader typically severs an appendage from an inquisitor to make them feel the pain and loss. I think Vader will sever Barriss's head off, but right before he does so, he tells Barriss, "This is for Ahsoka." Great to have you back, I really missed reviewing your videos. I hope all is well with you. I know unexpected events can take your focus away, Know that we are with you and support you. Catch you on the breakdowns for Tales next month. Hope your enjoying Bad Batch. So well done in many respects especially writing. Best Tony.
I agree, within the next 5-7 years I would not be suprised if it was almost fully photo-real. I should've elaborated with Mother Talzin a little bit better, I meant it in some sort of projection or encoded message or a spiritual connection where Morgan is maybe on the brink of death and her spirit reaches out to her in some way. I don't want to see her fully in the flesh at all. I just don't know how the hell Morgan is going to live after fighting General Grevious in my opinion. Yes!! I do believe that this is the precursor to the Imperial Walker. The lightsabers very well could be! I'm honestly just leaning toward them just reusing the same 3-4 assets for the sake of the budget. I would love for them to be the ones in Kenobi though! TGI dodging was so cool to see just due to me being such a Rebels fan. If it was an homage I'm not sure what is. Of course! If I ever see anything that reminds me or makes me think of a scene I'll always add it in for further context. So yea! Joe and I had talked about this, I feel like they had to use some of the tech from the volume at least just the assets from it to make it look so photo real and spot on. Unreal Engine 5 is putting in the work! It would be insane to see these sickles be turned into that spear! The history behind it going from that and then turning into Grogu's armor! I think Barriss will kill her as well! As I had said in the video, the full credit for that find goes to Will from @Diamondfigs He spotted that and it fully is Luminara. I would love for Luminara's death to be at the hands of Barriss. The impact that would have is huge. I hope we get something like that with Barriss and Vader. We have to! I don't think there is any way that we don't see some version of that. I'm glad to be back! I've missed our chats and making these types of videos! I am doing way better now than I was then and still am struggling with unexpected events but I am just taking it day by day and just being grateful to wake up for another day. I appreciate the support! It means more than you know! See you with the Tales breakdowns! I'll be having a video on Tantis coming out either Sunday or Monday. I am enjoying Bad Batch, I cannot wait to see where this leads. Thank you once again! I also really tried, slowing down and taking my time with the voice recording with this to try and improve on my previous work. I hope you were able to not only hear it better, but the words weren't flying by as fast! Kadin
@@CantinaTalkSW Thanks for all the kind words and replies to my observations. Trailers are always hard to break down; producers have the option to jump all over, throwing in conversations that don't match the scene, making a timeline of events in the correct order challenging. It might be better to download the video and re-edit it into two chronological orders per character. But that's for another time I understand the tired bit. I've been doing well for some time, but now I find myself wiped out midday and falling asleep on my laptop. The ever-changing hours I work as a caregiver don't help. Your voice not only improved, but it also seems to have become more mature. What I'm saying is, it's like you aged 10 years and your voice sounds more like that of an older adult. I noticed that right away. However, you were back to the way I remember your voice during the live stream. You have to be who you are, and your mind is sharp. I missed a lot of things that you caught, so watching the trailer, I saw it with a whole new perspective. It was also great to see you. I'll be anticipating your next video. Great to have you back. Tony.
I don't think that is Morgan fighting Grievous, it looks to be another Nightsister as you can see her facial markings are different from the one shot we have of young Morgan with similar markings. Also in the poster you can see young Morgan and the Nightsister that fights Grievous and they look quite different. I think it must be her mother / adopted mother as the facial markings are similar but different.
@@RedFX99it very well could be! The trailer is just edited so weirdly, with the scenes being all mixed around. I honestly thought it would’ve just been warrior face point that was put on, but you could be 100% correct!
@@CATDRL2 Hey! Sorry for the late response, I wasn't in town at all yesterday. I usually do download and re-edit it I just don't publish it. I did it with one of the Ahsoka trailers in my earlier breakdowns and I don't think a lot of people liked it in my breakdown(s) so I stopped putting it in them.
