This is one of those "mods" that should have been baked in by the devs. It's crucial. Bethesda's method of placing doors is a nightmare. I have never played the game without this mod. And the mod author is correct.. This will not do anything to already prebuilt ships you find out in the wild.. UNLESS.. You modify it in ship builder. Then you'll need to go back in and place the doors. I use tons of mods, and I have NEVER had an issue with any other mods causing issues with this one. This mod has Always just worked. So.. The difference between port and starboard fore and aft.. You want to use the one that you want to indicate the door opening is facing.. so if you're placing a door on the port side, you want the door opening to the starboard. If you have an opening that goes fore, you want to place the door as Aft. So that the door is opening towards the aft.
Another great tutorial my friend, keep 'em coming. I think Bethesda should verify this mod that way their updates work with this mod no matter what! BTW, seeing Cora just standing there staring at the shutter at 21:51 was quite funny 🤣😂
You just earned yourself a subscribe from me, good sir. Fantastic tutorial for a fantastic mod. I thank you. The only thing I will add is that the jerkiness of the shutter doors is due to realism. Irl, those types of doors usually roll or turn at a sharp angle into a hidden space, and that will create that jerking motion.
Also as a sailor for over 40 years - Port - Left Both four words. Port is the left side of the ship when facing forward - Forward is the thing you’re going to hit Aft is the thing you see AFTER you hit something 😂 lol ol Bosunmate taught me that joke 😂🎉 Also, the fore and aft doors with the insulation is very similar to a watertight door aboardship. I’d say the insulation should face the crucial cavity of humans (say an engine bay, the engineering room will have the insulation INSIDE the engineering room) and it opening into the area that isn’t crucial, or can go to zero Ox in the case of a spaceship, would have the steel tight and opening into that area. But I’ll let actual astronauts make that call vs my assumptions just being on ships most my life
Theoretically, the big round doors should open into the higher pressure area, so much like airplane doors opening outwards, the higher pressure helps keep the doors closed and doesn't put undue strain on the latches (Boeing found that out the hard way and still has to over-engineer some of their doors as they insist on some inward opening designs). Is outside space higher pressure? I can never keep that straight (I don't have any reason to remember), but it's called a vacuum, so maybe not. Interior, I feel they should open towards the "higher threat" area. So, for example, my captain's quarters' door should open outwards, towards the common area--that way, in case of pirate attack or mutiny, the assailants have to pull the door out vs an easier push in. Basically, just another angle backing up what you said. Although, your engineering example works better perhaps because opening into the engine bay creates more strength of the door in the event of some catastrophic engine disassembly (the door is on the side of the "threat" as well as being domed in that direction, increasing its integrity against pressure).
I have been using this since I found out it was on Xbox without any problems or mod conflicts. I use the passway for most doors and the jalousie for private rooms. I'm working on a build using a 1x1 "foyer" with the flat under dock and front bay connected to it and a hole in the roof connected to a room leading to the bridge. There are stairs leading up in the next room but the hole will be for quick access and existing. The ground/bay floor has my captains quarters, workshop, armory, and brig. The 1st/Bridge floor has my crew workstations such as battlestation, computer, engineering, etc. The second floor has all the living quarters, mess hall, and access to the bar and observation globe. I'm using the big 2 floor Frontier hab as part of floors 1 and 2. This hab is great and has several piles of cred sticks that respawn when you edit your ship. I'm going to build a ship using it as a credit spawner.

Hello :) Thank you very much for the video. There is a mistake with the ladders. So, in the game (vanilla, I didn't make them) there are Ladder that are 2 floors, 3, 4 and 5 floors high. When a shipbuilder connects modules together, he always replaces part of the ceiling with a Ladder 2x. Always. At the replacement stage, he cannot do anything else. Of course he also removes the floor on the next floor. Then, some internal shipbuilder code looks at the installed ladders and sees that there are 2 or 3 or 4 ladders in a row. He removes all these ladders and installs below! ladder 3x 4x or 5x. As a result, the ship ends up with: ladder 5x >> hole >> hole >> hole If you install a 3/4/5x ladder using a mod, then you should do the same, because it is actually such a high ladder that is 2/3/4 times higher than the module. That is, the vertical sequence will be like this: HUB - 5x Ladder - HUB - Hole - HUB - Hole - HUB - Hole - HUB. If you install HUB - 3x Ladder - HUB - 3x Ladder - etc, then you will have several ladders overlapping each other, visually you will not see this, since they perfectly match each other, but the climbing animation will malfunction, especially when you start moving from the intermediate floor. So, in 99% of cases you don't need to install 3/4/5x ladders at all, shipbuilder will replace the sequential ladders itself. You should simply install "Ladder" (aka "Ladder 2x") in sequence: HUB - Ladder - HUB - Ladder - HUB - etc; and then the shipbuilder will make the replacement itself. But he doesn’t always do it correctly, and you can get a problem when you are “thrown off” from the ladder on the intermediate floor, in this case I gave the opportunity to install the ladders of the required size in manual mode.
Ok that's interesting. I'll test around with 'Hole' instead of Ladder-Ladder-Ladder and see if it improves the flow. I did actually notice a little bit of texture mesh issues with the Ladders as I placed them, just didn't say anything because I didn't know if it was an issue or not.
Unfortunately, in the game there are no ladders larger than 5x, so if the ship has 6 floors, then it is impossible to climb from the 1st to the 6th floor; the character will be “thrown off” from the 5x ladder on the 5th floor. The actual "sequence" in this case would be: ladder 5x - hole - hole - hole - ladder2x or ladder 4x - hole - hole - ladder 3x - hole or some other combination. But on the floor where the stairs connect to each other (actually overlap each other), the character animation will be interrupted. Simple explanation of Stbd vs Port and Fore vs Aft. A door is a physical object that replaces part of a wall. Here you can see what the door frame is like: th-cam.com/video/ow-zLfXTLq8/w-d-xo.html Those. I gave the opportunity to control which of the two frames the door itself should be installed in. Thus, if you ask to install a door in a porthole, then it will not be there, since the porthole does not have a wall, there is no object that must be replaced with a door frame with a door. The same thing will happen with Crosspassage/Spine: you can install a door in the Hab adjacent to them, but you cannot install a door in the crosspassage itself. Custom doors (jalousie and shatter). The door itself is a vanilla object, we cannot create complex animated models at all yet, there is no tool. So "shatter stbd/port" opens with such a creak because Bethesda made it that way :) But I plan to adapt the Fore/Aft doorways for custom doors, it will look like this: th-cam.com/video/lhYIx8B_uWo/w-d-xo.html Now there are some hiccups with export/import from Blender, but just yesterday SesamaPaste (author of "Starfield Geometry Bridge - Blender Plugin") returned and soon I will be able to continue editing door frames.
@@delindsay I have always stacked holes and then picked the overall ladder length to match the space (placed from the bottom), that way you get one continuous run of ladder.
One of things I love about this mod is I like my portholes to be symmetric but sometimes it nukes something in the hab I want to keep. Now I can put a porthole on for symmetry but on the inside it's not there. 😁
I don't know if it were doors or shutters but by placing aft on the fore or vise versa I've had occasions where that part of the whole ship was missing but replacing with the correct door/shutter it solved the problem. I've only noticed this happening on Fore/Aft not STBD/Port
Amazing mod. Game changer in my opinion for ship buiding. I did experience an issue with this when using matilija stairs. The installed 'doors' gets superseded by the matilija stairs. So you end up with two doors in some cases. Hopefully it gets sorted in one of the updates :)
I could be mistaken as I never use the ladders as I prefer using gravity and/or my jet pack but I think if you just add a 1x regular ladder it’ll automatically snap together making one giant ladder that doesn’t kick you off. I could be wrong and will test it tomorrow just to make sure but it seems to work fine.
Works like a champ on XBox. Works no problem alongside the mods • Starship Combat Revised (engines, reactors, haven't used the modules edition) • Starvival Starship Systems • Easier Ship Building • Cargo Capacity 2x for all • All Cockpits have Nav Consoles • Ship Colorize • Constellation Ship Builder Palette • Ship Builder Categories • TN's Separated Categories •
And in addition to that list, it works with all of those _and_ • Shad's Cargo Space • Inquisitor Clean Ship Builder • Structure Hull This mod just works
I'm using the dark star astro dynamic mod. I went to try out the M class ship that comes with the mod. I had a walk around the ship and thought I'm going to change the cockpit. So I went into the enhanced ship builder changed the cockpit, I went back to the ship to find all the doors on the entire ship had gone. I couldn't leave the cockpit or get in the ship after boarding. So now I'm goin to replace all the doors and then change the cockpit. Very tedious to say the least, problem now is after I have placed the doors and back out from the builder it crashes every time. Can placing the doors incorrectly cause the game to crash?
I don't know about this Mod causing game crashes but the Mod Author clearly states that the Cockpit, Landing Bay and Docker Doors are untouched, so adding something different to any of those locations in the Ship builder probably would cause some kind of issue.
I may have missed something. So if I'm connecting two 2x1 habs together side to side, would I need to place passageways across attachments to the openings on just one of the habs (2 passageways) or 4 passageways? Thx
Stupid question (because i haven't looked into myself), but do the door elements count towards the overall component count on ships? I know there's a mod for that too, but just curious.
I believe yes and I believe the Mod author increased the max limit to 200. It's possible I'm thinking of a different Mod as I'm scanning the Forum on Nexus for this Mod and don't see what I thought I read about your question.
It doesn't work in my case I have done installation as per the procedure but these door placement tabs does not show in Hab section please help. I am playing Gamepass PC version.
There are stairs with either Matilija or Derretech (probably misspelled both). I just haven't gotten the time to showcase their Mods as they are huge in scope.
Perhaps your issue with the jalouise (sp?) on the big doorways is there's nowhere for the shutters to go in the sides because the frame is rounded and not graphically designed for such a door. So, it looks like the shutters shrink and slide into the middle, which doesn't look physically possible, so it's jarring. That's my issue with them, anyway. It's less noticeable on the actual "shutters", since they go into a surface you're not seeing as easily so your mind can "pretend" more easily.
I'm still working on it on Xbox but for some reason it's either not working correctly or I'm not placing enough holes. I'm not sure but I'm still blocked into each of my habs
There's been 1 or 2 others in the past couple weeks with similar issues. I wonder if one of the Starfield Updates messed it up for Xbox and the Mod author (who admits he doesn't have an Xbox) hasn't updated the Creation to reflect possible changes?
The thing that you said in the intro where a commenter got a ship and it was messed up with the mod, the dude probably used the vanilla habs that came with the ship instead of using the modded habs that dont generate the doors.
If that person used Place Doors Yourself from Creations then that's no longer the case. Jimsoon removed all the "Does not have doors" Habs as it became too confusing. It's baked directly into the Mod now.
That is old verbage that Jimsoon has not removed from the description page. It's really confusing to be honest and I've messaged him about cleaning that up,
This mod right here! I found it very easy to use. I would just add one of each type to the holes. Then I'd go into my ship, see which worked and which I liked the best. Then go back out and delete the others and copy/paste the ones I wanted. I didn't need to pay attention to port/starboard or fore/aft. I found it way easier and quicker than glitching the different windows into the habs to block doors and ladders that I didn't want. Plus, since the mod disables all the doors, I could keep all the bathrooms or other features that I wanted.
@@delindsay I had found that sometimes the weapon mount glitch wouldn't stop the ladder. I don't remember the circumstances for that though. I do remember that I'd have to add a window to the top of one hab and a window to the bottom of the other, and that always worked. So I quit trying the weapon mount.
Now all we need are turbolifts! ;) C'mon, even the ECS Constant had them. :) For the shutters, I think of them similar to the door shutters we had in some buildings in the military. They were janky like that because of the meshing/shifting of the panels in relation to the gears at each end as they turn. Annoyed me then too. From an engineering point, unless the module is specified as a port or starboard, there should be enough thickness to allow the "hallways" on both sides so that you can place a thick enough hatch for water/airtightness. Now, if you had a port/stbd module, the anterior wall would be thinner as you may not want/need that compartmentalization requirement. But what do I know, trying to apply real physics and engineering into a video game. ;) Also, at 22:00 where you were showing how the door shutters didn't come down centerline of the threshold, It should have either been CL or have two offset shutters (like an airlock). But we have plenty of time for the modder and others to tweak that.
What i would have liked to see is when you put a 1x1 next to a 1x1 (like a corridor) and then a 3x1 attach to a 3x1. Attach the singel door part of the 3x1 to the corridor. In theory it would add a door each for the different habs but instead it adds three doors between the two 3x1 and only one door into the corridor. Short version: Can you with this mod stop doors from appearing and create doors where there are none?. Also (minor question) can you change door type from square to round in between habs?
With this Mod active NO Doors or Ladders spawn except the Cockpit, Docker and Landing Bay. The Player must place any/all Doors/Ladders they wish to have.
@@delindsay Thank you for answering my stupid question!. Why haven´t i installed it yet then. That is the question and i do not have an answer to that but that is my own problem and not yours.
@@delindsay But now that I finally have installed it I can not install or add doors that are front and aft ie the round doors, and also no up or down for ladders. So I will have to search for a new mod that lets me add those also. Update: 🥳 When it shows only starboard doors you have to click z-key on keyboard (switch) to get the other options of doors and ladders. This is what I missed before. Still wondering why Bethesda hasn’t made this function, of doors and or ladders, available yet.

I think the shutter is supposed to be janky. It’s a bunch of small sections of solid metal. If it was a single piece of flexible metal, it would be smooth going over a wheel, but since it’s a bunch of plates on hinges, it doesn’t smoothly go over a wheel. Edit: at the fore/aft shutter doors, and noticed they are more janky that the port/starboard shutters. They are more janky because the metal slats are larger.
In the description of the Mod, the author states that NO modification was made to Cockpits, Dockers or Landing Bays. That means you don't need to place anything in those locations. Doing so would likely cause issues.
I have been using this mods since it originally release through multiple updates and never had an issue with generic ships. I disable pirate/spacer/var'run/ecliptic ships all the time. The person claiming to have an issue, likely has a load order issue.
As for the shutter, he's using the glass see-through door for the cells in the brigs, not the shutter you are thinking. Maybe that's why, will need to see how they open. He just made the changes the material from glass to metal. EDIT: Confirmed, those glass cell doors in the brig have the same stuttering animation. He'd have to edit the enter for the shutter door in Xedit and change the NIF he's using for the smoother door you are talking about.
@@delindsay Agreed, I bet you the person who is saying it's acting weird has over 80 ESMs installed. I am looking through his ESM right now and don't see any other my other mods conflicting with it, AKA Junk in your ships trunk, better snaps, SMSEX, and a whole bunch of other mods that I have that all conflict with each other and I had to make a patch for.
@@keithvsmith So to me, a novice to all this, is each unique Mod a single ESM and therefore Starfield at this time can only reasonably handle 80 Mods before having serious issues or am I not equating the 2 correctly?
BTW, I kinda lost track, did you ever figure out why it wasn't working? Also for everyone. I was having random fps drops in random places. Like 90 fps to 10 fps for no reason. I hit escape, fps comes back up. I deleted my pipeline file to make it reload shaders and it stopped. So if you have this issue, I wanted to share this. 😁
I did have the devil's own time with using this with the "Ancient Mariner" Hab. Cross contamination with doors on the same side and having to use the Jalousie door on a side to get it to work at all. Don't get me wrong, great mod! But that's my only negative comment. Otherwise fantastic. :)
The mod is paid and I can’t see what’s there, but most likely this mod modifies the rules of the “Snap Behavior Template” since it needs to add an original doorway (frame). If someone sends the "esm" file itself (either esp or esl, these are all valid mod extensions), then I will try to make a compatibility patch. Only "esm/esp/esl", I don't need the resources (ba2), so this shouldn't be considered piracy.
@@delindsay They don't care ;) But we are still grateful to them, no one else has such an open engine, and this is pleasant for both the authors and the players.
Edit: Answered my own question: It just puts a seal in place, looks neat. What happens if you put a door or hole without connecting anything? Is the ship just open to space? Awesome video.
I honestly didn't try that but my guess is the Ship builder wouldn't allow you to exit as it would throw an error. EDIT: And apparently I didn't read your entire comment lmao.
I must be the odd person out, since i don't miss having to place doors in my ships. I get it; folks want to have more control over minute details, but having this in game would actually drive me nuts. I'd only install the mod if i found a modded ship that used it that i felt i couldn't do without for one reason or another.
My guess is, if it were part of the base game it'd be a toggle, like snapping on/off. If it's off, the game decides for you, if it's on then you have to place them all.
On Xbox, I loaded this mod. Was on a planet, finishing a quest before going to a spot to modify my ship. Entered my ship and there were no doors or ladders. Had to go back to a save previous to loading mod. I guess I need to load the mod when at a planet where I can modify my ships.
That's how it should be. Your ship has already been modified, the internal and external cells of your ship are created on the runtime. And you're right, when you enter the game (during the first load) the game will forcefully launch the shipbuilder and "check" at least your current ship, and at that moment the doors will disappear. The mod should be installed while located near the spaceport in order to immediately begin using it.
This did change mine also and blocked me out of my ships without even going into ship builder??? And also all ships?? I have over 1200hrs into starfield. So i removed this mod. Even after trying it. Couldn't get doors going long ways isnt there only cross hatches.!!!
I’ve got several molded ships and captured some too. Tried to mod them and the doors aren’t there where they should be. It definitely affects most ships‼️‼️‼️😤
And you've tried clicking on a Fore or Aft snap point of a Hab and still don't get the option? If so, then I'll have to refer you to the Mod author for support, it's linked in the description and pinned comment.
@@delindsay Is it possible to use the mod, build the ship, save and then disable the mod for the achievements to work? Will the ship keep the modifications made?
Xbox version doesn't have the Fore to aft door or ladder/hole options, which can cause issues. I've found 1x1 habs are often blocked off as no doors OR ladders spawn, which if making a ship that needs both, makes this mod useless.
@@delindsay Yeah. hopefully i might get an answer, but i've not had one yet from any mod author regarding issues to mods on xbox. I know this one doesn't have an xbox to test it, so it's very much play by ear. But even when i first downloaded it i noticed there was no ladders or fore/aft placements. (nothing coming up pink).
Are you looking in the Hab tab? You should have (2) options, Doors/Ladders (depending on which snap you click) and Shutters. They're near the top or at the top, depending on if you own the Mariners Hab or not.
I started this mod Yesterday, had a funny bug, falling out of my ship, then thru landing pad, then queeping falling into the planet that became invisible exept for the bushes, had to reload the game.
Was that BEFORE you did anything in the Ship builder? I got that bug too but it was a me issue. I added a Fore and Aft Door to the same location thinking that's how it was done (when I 1st got the Mod). Ended up having to sell that Ship and start over.
I call this the "destroyed inner ship cell." In fact, an error occurs and shipbuilder does not create the ship's interior cell. This happens because the shipbuilder is trying to install two doors at the same time in the same place. This usually results from either installing a “door” element in front of the cockpit, or a “deformed ship” - when the ship’s modules are installed with offsets relative to each other, crookedly. This is usually a consequence of using various console commands, such as overlap tolerance, etc. Move the residential modules aside and reconnect them, carefully and consistently. In vanilla this problem does not appear because the shipbuilder will not place two doors in the same place between a pair of Habs, but with the mod you install an additional, very thin hab, and the shipbuilder can get confused if these habs are installed overlapping.
@@Jimson5 exactly that thanks. By the way do you how to have no door were there is one in vanilla ? I do not find how to do the best I have for now is no door on one side and transparent Glitch on the other with a hole in the ship

You may have figured this out by now but for fore and aft on xbox, place any Door or Shutter into the building space (not on a hab) and then press Y to cycle through to Door (Fore) and then use the D-Pad Left and Right to cycle through all the option. As well, if you place a Door and then press Y to cycle to Ladder, you can then use the D-Pad Left and Right to cycle through the Ladder options and Hole options. Hope this makes sense and helps. I am on Xbox as well and just got lucky to figure this out.

Also as a sailor for over 40 years -
Port - Left
Both four words. Port is the left side of the ship when facing forward -
Forward is the thing you’re going to hit
Aft is the thing you see AFTER you hit something
😂
lol ol Bosunmate taught me that joke 😂🎉
Also, the fore and aft doors with the insulation is very similar to a watertight door aboardship. I’d say the insulation should face the crucial cavity of humans (say an engine bay, the engineering room will have the insulation INSIDE the engineering room) and it opening into the area that isn’t crucial, or can go to zero Ox in the case of a spaceship, would have the steel tight and opening into that area.
But I’ll let actual astronauts make that call vs my assumptions just being on ships most my life
HA! Love that Aft joke.

Thank you for the Tour, great Mod that make a big difference for Shipbuilders. 👍
It really does.
Been using this since release. Never messed with any other ships.
Hell, I've only been using it for a short time now (since Creations) and I'm already hooked deep.
I'm glad it works for Xbox, since I don't have one and can't test it for these videos.

As a result, the ship ends up with:
ladder 5x >> hole >> hole >> hole
If you install a 3/4/5x ladder using a mod, then you should do the same, because it is actually such a high ladder that is 2/3/4 times higher than the module.
That is, the vertical sequence will be like this:
HUB - 5x Ladder - HUB - Hole - HUB - Hole - HUB - Hole - HUB.
Here you can see what the door frame is like:
th-cam.com/video/ow-zLfXTLq8/w-d-xo.html
Those.
So "shatter stbd/port" opens with such a creak because Bethesda made it that way :)
But I plan to adapt the Fore/Aft doorways for custom doors, it will look like this:
th-cam.com/video/lhYIx8B_uWo/w-d-xo.html
Now there are some hiccups with export/import from Blender, but just yesterday SesamaPaste (author of "Starfield Geometry Bridge - Blender Plugin") returned and soon I will be able to continue editing door frames.

That's actually a great idea!
Thank you, this was very helpfull. I was struggling with the ladders😅
I did too at first, just didn't understand the difference until I saw those handhelds AT the 3/4/5 level then it clicked.
I don't know if it were doors or shutters but by placing aft on the fore or vise versa I've had occasions where that part of the whole ship was missing but replacing with the correct door/shutter it solved the problem. I've only noticed this happening on Fore/Aft not STBD/Port
Hard to say and I've noticed a few odd things here and there but overall the Mod works great!
Amazing mod. Game changer in my opinion for ship buiding. I did experience an issue with this when using matilija stairs. The installed 'doors' gets superseded by the matilija stairs. So you end up with two doors in some cases. Hopefully it gets sorted in one of the updates :)
It's part of why I haven't showcased Matilija's Mod yet, since he's still working the bugs out.
Maybe the shutter not smooth is intentional. It represents the individual slats raising/retracting
Certainly possible.
Can place port and starboard but not fore and aft . Dont show under structural
Any help appreciated
Did you try it the way I did? And when you say can't place them, do you have the option but the game won't allow it or do you see no option at all?
I could be mistaken as I never use the ladders as I prefer using gravity and/or my jet pack but I think if you just add a 1x regular ladder it’ll automatically snap together making one giant ladder that doesn’t kick you off.
I could be wrong and will test it tomorrow just to make sure but it seems to work fine.

Agreed.
Thx
Just 1 per hole, regardless if Fore to Aft, Port to Stbd or vertically with Ladders.

Stupid question (because i haven't looked into myself), but do the door elements count towards the overall component count on ships? I know there's a mod for that too, but just curious.

Certainly possible. It's one of those things I just couldn't put my finger on "why" it was bothering me.
So much nicer than the Weapon Mount glitch to stop Ladders.
@@BrandonProfeta For sure. As long as you got it to work that's all that matters. Now, it's no longer an issue!
Now all we need are turbolifts! ;) C'mon, even the ECS Constant had them. :)
For the shutters, I think of them similar to the door shutters we had in some buildings in the military.
But what do I know, trying to apply real physics and engineering into a video game. ;)
Also, at 22:00 where you were showing how the door shutters didn't come down centerline of the threshold, It should have either been CL or have two offset shutters (like an airlock). But we have plenty of time for the modder and others to tweak that.
Indeed and Jimsoon has stated he's still working on the Mod so I'd expect it'll improve with time.

You're probably correct, it just didn't sit well with me personally.
A problem I'm having is passways don't seem to work between a hab and a cockpit.
I still get a door into my Captain's Quarters. 😡
In the description of the Mod, the author states that NO modification was made to Cockpits, Dockers or Landing Bays. That means you don't need to place anything in those locations. Doing so would likely cause issues.
i wish there was a way to enable it only for new builds... going to all my old builds and disassembling just to make them functional is roughhh
I initially thought that but it's actually super fast. I think it took me ~15 minutes to do all 10 Ships.
I have been using this mods since it originally release through multiple updates and never had an issue with generic ships. I disable pirate/spacer/var'run/ecliptic ships all the time. The person claiming to have an issue, likely has a load order issue.
It's entirely possible what with the odd way Starfield handles Mods and their load order.

The Mod author is aware of the conflict between this and BGS' Ancient Mariner and is working on a solution.
The mod is paid and I can’t see what’s there, but most likely this mod modifies the rules of the “Snap Behavior Template” since it needs to add an original doorway (frame).
Yes probably. I first used it while at my Outpost so had ready access to the Ship builder right after loading the Mod.

Oh don't think I didn't realize that in my head after saying it. I figured nobody would notice if I didn't bring further attention to it lmao.
The only thing this mod doesnt do is let u place doors on the back of certain cockpits...
So that instead of having to climb up thru the bottom u could just walk in from the back of the cockpit. It's the Only thing i dont like about it. Besides that it should have been in the base game it's a must have mod.
It 100% should've been in the game from day 1!
I can't find doors to go aft fore only port stbd?
And you looked in the Hab section just like I showed in this Tutorial?
@delindsay I think I missed the the bit or didn't realise you were flipping to get them I went to the nexus page and first comment I seen was asking same as me and the answer was there thanks :) just spen the last 2 hours decking out my complex ship with doors and ladders as i already built it last night be easier next time I'll door as I build
@@CraigH2288 It does take a bit to get the system down but after that it's super easy to build out entire Ships with perfect traffic flow.
@craigharries1463 I didn't get that it's flip on Xbox too. 😅 Trying get the fore and aft to pop up was driving me insane! Thank you!
I don’t have the option for ladders on XBOX
And you clicked on an upper or lower section? The menu changes depending on what you've clicked on.

I wish there was a alternative to starui shipbuilding. I don't think the author is gonna update it and it's broken now
I don't think I've heard of that one, but I only troll the Creations tab not Nexus.
Theres an update that allows starui shipbuilder to work, you just don't have access to the empty habs. I'm using it just fine without the empty habs. There's a link to the fix in the message area of the mod.
@@dkindig yeah, I know. I'm just hoping the author comes back.
Only starboard and port side doors show up
Have you reached out to the Mod Author on Nexus to see if it's a known bug?
25:50 you missed your own stupidity could break a mod, not that I would ever admit to of course. I’m always completely innocent of such things, and you can’t prove a thing 😂
Oh it can indeed, and I did that very thing at 1st. The reason I had so many issues with it the day it dropped on Creations was because I'm stupidly thought placing a Fore and Aft Door on the same location was the correct method. I was so very wrong.
I uninstalled this mod because it removed the ladders in all my ships interior
The Mod author does state in the description that turns OFF all Door/Ladder spawns except the Docker, Cockpit and Landing Bay.
Stolen ships remain untouched unless u actually go into ship builder to change your layout. Then place doors will have to be used for every passageway into another compartment. 😡🤬😤
That's how the Mod Author stated it should work, whether good or bad for Players.
@@delindsaymy question to you. I didn’t understand why you were using the particular doors you used. It’s confusing on the reasoning why you used fore, aft, passway and jalousie in those particular doors
@@gregphipps7082 Demonstration only. This video was purely to demonstrate HOW to use the Mod, nothing else.
If only Bethesda put an option "place ladder" 🥲and stair damn, can't bear to see ladder anymore T_T but, amazing work ! thanks for the tuto :)
Agreed. I can't fathom how this wasn't part of the Ship builder from day 1.
The mod has place ladders. And there's two mods with 2, 3, and 4 story staircases
