Loved this talk, and Dorie's message: standing out isn't about narcissistic self-promotion, it's about truly adding value to the world and improving others' lives. We hear so much talk about "personal branding" but Dorie breaks down step by step, in a super helpful way, how to find a breakthrough idea in a format that works for you. I loved this talk, and am a huge fan of Dorie's work! Highly recommend to anyone looking to establish expertise and build a platform that brings opportunities to you, instead of you feeling like you have to constantly chase them down.

Dorie does a great job of story telling in this video to exemplify her point of finding a breakthrough idea. It doesn't just happen. You have to pay attention and be willing to learn. Thanks for the video.

I love your stating, Dorie, that innovative ideas often come from the periphery...so we are charged with doing things a bit differently, are we not? And I appreciated your pointing out that LUCK is an attitude; not something that falls into a slacker's lap. Well done!

Dorie You talks are so inspirational that you should go ahead and break some borders...You are getting better day by day with your great talks.. share it to the World so the common people can get great benefits.. even the leaders who were just so common one day ! let the World be reminded that there are some new generations leaders waiting to take over and change the World for better..

Everyone who traveled beyond borders only discovered new things...Get your mind and body to move around the World .. keep connecting, co-creating and collaborating.... Together we can shape a new world.. never give up as today the economy, politics and leadership has failed and need to evolve

I did not see any reason for unemployment when people can work.. there is so much of work in this world to fix so many things that may take a 100 years for the basics to even get fixed..Why cannot the Leaders have this sight and vision clear with clarity

People around me say I have very good ideas and see things differently
My skills is a great idea
It's just that I have hindrances to put these ideas into practice

Wonderful presentation, but for we "idea spinners" it is savvy and necessary to copyright said ideas and protect their full potential. I was referred to a lawyer that handles "Intellectual Properties." Anyone have other ideas?
    Great talk. GO BOSTON!

How? By realizing a successful person doesn't invent the truth, they uncover it--that nothing has ever been broken as proof that anything is true.

Ideas are NOTHING. Execution of them is what matters. Ideas might require 10% cognitive load and make you feel happy and inspired whereas actually executing on them can take 110% cognitive load and you can almost die.
Yeah I ain’t gonna finish this video

This talk is a nothing-burger full of breathless speaking trying to simulate profound importance. It is long on story telling straining to be seen as engaging but it is disappointingly short on insight. What is presented is just the easy thinking of a journalist who merely reports others thinking, activity and experience. Dorie Clark does not do "research" of any consequence other than gathering tales of others' success without any causal explanation, much less understanding, of the sources of their success. She certainly does NOT "explain the strategies you can use" but instead merely trots out a laundry list of fatuous drivers of breakthrough. This is simple-minded, thin gruel. #EpicFail

Lee -- consider how valuable stories are in our culture. From stories, we can pull lessons into our own lives and create our own manuals and strategies for creating work that matters.

The reason why you will never be successful is that she just dropped a ton of valuable information and you got stuck on her appearance.
