    May Allah reward his efforts and forgive him insha Allah. May Allah increase his eloquence. I said some things about the sheik may Allah forgive me and I ask his forgiveness if he finds time to read insha Allah. I commented his lectures of Gog and Magog. We have to respect the Ulumaa because they are the most beloved in the sight if Allah, so saying bad things will cause the anger if Allah.

If you could go into the Mu'tazilah that would be great. Next to no one covers them even though they are very important in understanding why some theological doctrines developed the way they did.

    May Allah reward you Honorable sheikh for your work to unite the Ummah. Very beneficial to see that there are variant views within the Hanbali and Hanafi traditions. It seems that Al-Ashari and Ibn Taymiyyah were more moderate, with crossover views. Unfortunately the schools as they exist today are more rigid. The Imams of the schools did not see things as black and white as the followers of their schools do. The rigidity of the students within a school is problematic.
    Also Shaikh you teach us that ijtihadi knowledge is a living experience through the scholars, similar to muhkam and mutishabihah. Why should anyone dispute regarding the speculative verses when there are many unambiguous ones? Do they want fitnah?

    Dr. Really interested in hearing your opinions on aqeeda post neosalafism especially sifat, I can hear the athari beleif in your talk non the less very important to hear an outside opinion on the matter . I have seen some that took the same path, as you mentioned, ascribe tafweed to imam Ahmad instead of ithbat and attributing the same to Ibn Qudama, Ibn Al Jawzi, and Ibn rajab amongst other hanbalis saying that is Imam Ahmad way and that the difference with Ibn Taymiya ithbat school is only linguistic . We really need your ideas here so that the ppl leaving thr strand do not attribute these meanings because of there animosity towards thst group instead of the real truth. Jazak Allah Kher .

      ATHARI AQEEDAH VS THE PSEUDO ATHARI (PSEUDO SALAFI/WAHHABI)
      These rightly guided Hanbalis would
      1. Negate the human meaning; meaning not attribute it to Allah عزوجل.
      2. Thereafter submit its meaning to Allah عزوجل
      This is called Tafweed; which some 'Ash’ari and Maturidi schools did as well
      -The Salafi/ Wahhabi do not do this hence they are not to be taken seriously when they say they are 'Atharis
      That is because the blasphemously believe the human meaning is possible with Allah عزوجل
      -The Salafi/ Wahhabi do not do this hence they are not to be taken seriously when they say they are 'Athari
      That is because the blasphemously believe the human meaning is possible with Allah عزوجل
      -As for Tafweed. Yes, it’s referred to as Tafweed with Tanzeeh. Remaining silent BUT clearing Allah from the Kayf "the How" and clearing Allah from resembling the creation in any matter
      So it is remaining silent for the actual meaning.
      However, The Wahhabi they say that they remain silent of the how. So they say that there is a Kayf but they don't the Kayf so they remain silent. This is what they claim and that’s a lot different from remaining silent from the meaning and clearing the Kayf, which is the Aqeedah of the TRUE Salaf us-Saliheen
      The Athari/Hanbali creed are two types, one is a Sunni Aqeeedah the other has been Hijacked by the Pseudo Salafis/Wahhabi sect (i.e. the Anthropomorphists) !
      1st The true Athariyyah creed (Hanbali Aqeedah) is from Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal رضي الله عنه which belong to Ahlus Sunnah Wa'l Jama'ah which is similar to the al-Maturidiyya and Asha’irah Aqeedah, which does not apply direction, body parts etc. to Allah عزوجل. But a forgotten school because of the Anthropomorphists.
      2nd is the Hijacked Athariyyah by the Taymun (Pseudo Salafi/Wahhabi i.e followers of ibn taymiyyah, Ibn Qiyyum, ibn Abd al-Wahhabi, Albani, Bin Baz etc. ) who has hijacked the term, which is not part of the Ahlus Sunnah Wa'l Jama'ah and our Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal رضي الله عنه are free from Anthropomorphism, they apply direction, body parts etc. to Allah عزوجل .
      The problem is today's Athari speak with authority about topics they have no understanding of nor are they qualified to comment on. Athari means only using what what said in Qur'an and Sunnah meaning they believe in the Words of Allah by whatever Allah meant when stating them and laysa kamithlihi shay. So a real (Sunni) Athari is the same in core belief as a al-Ash'ari and al-Maturidi only without deeper sharh or possible explanations.
      Some Sunni Athari scholars: Shaykh Abd al-Qadir Jilani al-Hanbali, Imam ibn Jawzi al-Hanbali, Imam adh-Dhahabi ash-Shafi’i, Imam al- Laalikaa’i, The Tamimi family, Al Khalwadhani, Ibn Hubairah, Al zaghouni, Ibn Qudamah, Ibn Hamdan, Ibn muflih, Al Tufi, Ibn Rajab, Ibn Najjar, Al Mardawi, Ibn Balban, Mari' Al Karami, Al Saffarini, Ibn Salum, Ibn qa'id al najdi, Al Shatti Family.

    It makes sense to me now. So, the Sheikh theorized that Al-Ibaanah was written to "please" Al-Barbahari, when Al-Ash'ari visitted Baghdad. And what's interesting is, some Salafi/Athari preachers in my country would quote Al-Ibaanah to prove that Al-Ash'ari died, according to them as an "Ahlus-Sunnah" (Athari). I know that Sheikh Yasir said, some atharis tried to claim that he (Al-Ashari) became a "pure athari" at a certain point in his life (not in the end).

    I read a different story about why Ahmad bin Hambel disapproved al Muhasibi. Ibn Hambel and others were gathering all the ehadis they could find and being extremely careful in vetting the authenticity and wording of the ehadis they collected. El Muhasibi, on the other hand, was not as careful in the use and citation of ehadis as ibn Hambel was. E.g., el Muhasibi would not cite the proper source of a hadis and the chain of sources. That eventually led to a tention between the two giants of Islamic knowledge.

    I know in scholarship this issue was a big deal, whether to categories and not to categories the siffats of Allah swt, but these matter lets be honest only Allah swt can affirm and we will know in the hereafter and not something that effects taqwa and sincerity of imaan and your relationship with Allah swt.
    Because how does categorsing and not categoring impact the everyday worshipping Allah swt.Its not a major difference in thinking, not sufficient to make a new sect. The only issue is of Qadr which can effect worshipping Allah swt. Its interesting to read history anyway.

      What distinguishes Islām from other religions?
      Its belief in the Creator (in Arabic, Allāh). Most religions believe the Creator is a man, some tangible entity, or some being that exists somewhere high up on a throne, or some kind of spirit.
      Muslims believe Allāh, the Creator, has no resemblance or need to the creations in anyway whatsoever. Among the creations is darkness, light, time, space, directions, such as above and below, places, the heavens, skies, and everything else. This means the Creator existed before all the aforementioned creations, before time, place, above and below, darkness, and light. Thus, it is known and is the belief of Muslims that God existed without a place, space, and direction, and after creating them, is clear of occupying them. This also means the Creator is clear of being a man or volume taking entity, as whatever takes up space needs that space to exist, and Allāh is clear of need, thus clear of occupying space. Allāh is not an ethereal entity, such as a spirit, or a tangible entity, like a human. Allāh is the Creator of both.

    14:32 On the other hand, you have ibn qudamah r.h(who was born shortly before al shahrastani died) narrating from imam ahmad that he said ‘… bila kayf walaa ma’naa’ in lumatul itiqaad. Alongside that, you have a number of other hanbali scholars, even before ibn qudamah like al qadhi abu ya’la saying that it is impermissible to describe Him as being everywhere or in a place, and it is permissible to say that *He is fis-samaa ‘ala al-‘arsh*. If we say he affirmed the meaning, he’d be contradicting himself.
    Granted, there is a narration from imam Malik talks about kayfiyya, however the counter weight in the hanbali ulamaa’s works supporting tafweedh, before and after ash-shahrastani’s time, is too significant to overlook.

    • @saadallahchebaro8282
      @saadallahchebaro8282 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true and having looked inti this matter for some time now , when you compile all of the athars of Imam Ahmad , you find that without a doubt he is not a mufawid at least the maturidi way and some of the same athars include no manaa except the manaa that Allah described himself aside from it being an ahad which some like al khalal didnt accept. I would really love to hear the Dr. Opinion on this .

    • @AliAbuH
      @AliAbuH 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saadallahchebaro8282 just adding on to what you've mentioned; it is clear by gathering the various Athar of Imam Ahmad RH, that he indeed committed to Ithbat of the sifaat and consigned the howness to Allah. In essence, he committed to the Tafweed Kaffiyah and not Tafweed ma'niyah and this is in line with the Athari doctrine, as supported by over 100 narrations from the Salaf committing to Tafweed Kaffiyah and not Tafweed entirely. The lone narration that mentions Imam Ahmad saying, without a meaning and with a how, can be relegated to a refutation against the Jahmiyyah who denied the attributes in its entirety.
      To assume that that one narration proved he followed Tafweed is odd since you would be disregarding the many prevalent narrations wherein he committed to the meaning yet didn't enquire into the how. Also there are two opinions regarding that narration the commentator mentioned, one being that it is a discontinued report and one that it is an accepted report but a refutation to the Jahmiyyah.

      @@AliAbuH agreed though some neo-hanbalis claim that we have to use ta'weel to explain this specific athar of Imam Ahmad since taking it as by althahir would imply both kayfiya and meaning are unknown given that many hanbalis post 500 hijri where actual mufawida to some extent specifically on the manaa part . This is why I wanted the Dr. To elaborate on this point to clear it up since he touched base on it very briefly.
