Thank you, when I do a walking stick and carve a notch near the bottom, this is the perfect knot to use to keep the end secure enough so it doesn't split.
I'll have to explore this. Naturally you can join two colors of cord, so each end is of a different color. But there are other ways, such as using 2 cords in different colors, so 4 ends.
Interesting, in regards to 'inletting' the wood where the wrap was to be made in order to keep the paracord from not increasing the grips size too much, but at the same time it also could have been done on a stick which hadn't been cut down if a little larger grip was neded. The only other addition to my walking stick was to add black heavy duty rubber tips at each end to decrease to possibilty of a slip - so far so good. Thanks for sharing how to do this since I had originally gone with drilling a small hole at each end of my grip where the cord was inserted and then wrapped over in order to cover it up and finally to the last wrap which also ended up inside the other hole, all of which was layed-up over a light coating of Gorilla Glue without being noticed as the heavy line I used did a nice job of hiding it.
I looked at other videos for options to wrap a hiking stick. This one seemed like the best not only because it doesn't have the lump underneath from the extra cordage, but also because you can easily remove what you need and retie the rest.
"Reef" knot (not "wreath") so called because it is used for tying the sail ties when you reef a sail on a boat. Reefing is when you make the sail smaller (for strong winds) by folding or rolling (or simply bundling) up the bottom few inches of canvas.
Awesome nice easy whipping and looks great .. I will do my Axe handle when I have it for Christmas .. I’ve ordered some CAMO Paracord , so I’ll do some practice , cheers Chris & Sam
Thanks. I’ve used this wrap many times, on many things, but I haven’t come up with a method to finish it cleanly. Having a square knot at the end is secure, but on some wraps I don’t like having the knobby “bump” that can be felt under my hand. Any thoughts?
There is always a way! You could run the ends under a part of the wrap using a lacing needle. Trim and melt. You could also tie a simple turk's head knot with one end and double it up with the other.
looks similar to the samurai wrap which is what i did from bottom to top because theres a hole at the bottom of my stick. which granted me extra cord to add a wrist lanyard when i was done. but this still looks better.
use a prusic knot to attach the 2 colors or a similar knot then just follow the same pattern, the place where the 2 colors meet might look messy though. Try and find a 2 tone rope maybe. It'll look great.
I was planning to do a ringbolt hitch on my steering wheel, but this looks pretty interesting for something I can do on both sides without actually having to see the backside.
Hey Paracord Guild, this is an easy wrap, and the last knot is easy too, but what do you do with the loose ends? Do you cut and burn them with a lighter? Or, do you tuck them under the the wrap?? Please post your reply, thanks!
Hey Mark. I found your channel because I want to wrap my walking cane. I haven't found what I really need because my cane handle is cupped ( curves up where my hand goes ) instead of hooked or round like regular can handles. I hope you have something I can use. Thanks for sharing.
Hey! They have the same look and the names are often switched around. Generally, I call the bend form (for joining two ends) a reef knot, while the square knot is used as a knot to craft items such as bracelets, purses, anything like that. The square knot usually has a core of two strands. Mark
Square Knot is: Right over left then left over right. Reef Knot is:Right over left then left over right. Granny Knot is: Right over left then right over left.
We understand why do you keep on saying do I have to not do I have to not do I have to not stop saying that just say do I have not and keep on doing that
You just do the best tutorials of any of the para cord tutorials. I have learned more from you then 22 years in the Navy.
Yeah man I’ll give it to you, this is the best/simplest para knot I’ve seen yet. Thanks for the video
that was the easiest paracord wrap I have seen so far, and it looks really good.. Thank you'
Great video, only had to watch it once to do it myself. Which is how you know this is a good video, plus it's a super simple wrap.
Exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks for taking time to post this.

Instantly Love this channel!! Thank you so much for the high quality production and clarity in teaching!
A very nice covering for a walking stick project I'm working on. Thank you.
Here for the same reason.
Me and my dad are using this for a wand that I’m making it’s termed out soooo amazing
So far thx so much
Really easy to do and it's also eye pleasing, good one!
Is this possible, in 2 colors? Thank you best videos out, simple and to the point

Thank you so much for going slow and explaining!!! My hatchet looks great now. Awesome video man.
Thank you for the video! That was the pattern I needed for my art project. Awesome!
Mark that’s got to be the simplest. Thank you!!!

Looking forward to wrapping my shifter, thanks friend

Dawn man. Same reason I found it. I really like this one as well. Better then the rest.
That "wreath knot" is what I was taught as a "square knot".
Interesting that this is a means of "whipping" or putting a "serving" on line as well.

I'm going to do this with metal wire, and solder the ends so hopefully it turns out halfway good
Farajaraf how'd that turn out
I was thing how hay bail wire would look as i was watching it lol
@@butterpiggie9624 it turned out very good, I drilled some holes to tie it in better.
I think they made a tv series about this guy called “The Haves and the Halve Knots”
Lol funny!
I gotta ask, have you tested how well this stays on? I mean have you swung the axe while holding the wrapping?
Quick and easy...Thanks for the tutorial!!
Excellent! Looks like I'm going to wrap my Suzuki LS650 Savage's throttle grip using this method.
THIS IS what I've been looking for!
Awesome nice easy whipping and looks great .. I will do my Axe handle when I have it for Christmas .. I’ve ordered some CAMO Paracord , so I’ll do some practice , cheers Chris & Sam
So easy even I can do it!
How simple!!! Thank you for sharing.
nice thanks so much . I’m sure the diploma is just for fun. I like your sense your humour
I enjoy your videos. Thank you.
thank you for teaching me this, love the diploma part too!
Gonna use this on my motorcycle crash bars. Looks cool and nice if I forget cord for my tarp.
Thanks for the ending! It’s fun! 👍🏻

How many metres of paracord do I need for a walking staff grip would you suggest?
How long of Paracord to start with to get a handle width for a hand
32 meters, it's a lot of whipping 😂
Looks great thanks for sharing. I was looking for a way to secure leather tassels for necklaces that looks unique. This seems like it will be great.
looks similar to the samurai wrap which is what i did from bottom to top because theres a hole at the bottom of my stick. which granted me extra cord to add a wrist lanyard when i was done. but this still looks better.
my new favorite wrap , thanks much.
Just say you wanted to do 8" on stick how much cordage would you need?
Half knots! half knots all the way down!
Coupd you make this work with leather strap?
Is there any way to make this two tone? Joining both in the middle?
use a prusic knot to attach the 2 colors or a similar knot then just follow the same pattern, the place where the 2 colors meet might look messy though. Try and find a 2 tone rope maybe. It'll look great.

Hey!
Both ways work. I would cut and melt after tying the finishing knot.
Mark
Thats so simple, thank you
How do I calculate how much cord per inch of handle??
just what i would like to know. Help.......
Briddy Hll the answer I got from his Facebook page was trial and error. Because everything you wrap is a different thickness.
Do a sample wrap of like 5 inches. Then unwrap it and measure the cord used and multiple that by the total length you have to do.
Doesn't that final knot loosen over time. Seems like it would
Thank you bro 😎
Will this wrap be okay to use on a flashlight? I have the Duracel 1000 lumen...the body length is about 6 inches...thanks
Do you start in the middle of cord?
Looks easy enough that I can use it on the plastic handle of a 5 gallon bucket.
Where send e-mail to get certificate?
Hey!
Don't worry it is already in the mail!

Thanks for the diploma. The check is in the mail.
Cool.. That one should be at my level 😂
I like that whipping ***blink blink***
This will look great on my ultrasaber
Looks like this could make a nice spiral if you turn the object less than 180° each time.
Love it!
Simple easy paracord wrapping!
"Now tie a half knot"

"See so easy!"
thanks mate that was cool.
Do the hokey pokey and turn your self around that’s what it’s all about.
how to wrap on a t shaped bar?
what are its uses....?
Just whip it! Whip it good!
Amazing
As simple as this is I still fuck it up every time
Thank you Sir
Excellent!
💥💥💥WOW KNOTS💥💥💥
This is difficult to do when you're whipping something long and have 100 ft of 550 cord haha
the more difficult it is to do, the less chances of it coming undone
I love it; easy! But; you didn't show what you did with the loose ends.
Just melt it with a lighter and fuse it together.
Thank you
whippingk? half-knotk? objectk?
muito legal
Reef Knot? I've always seen that called that a square knot.

Put some color on my black backpack handle with this, thanks
mark, i've waited years for my credentials to come in the mail but STILL nothing... haha what's going on ?
Excellent memory Paul, even after years you took the time to follow up!
The thing is...I ran out of stamps at some point.
You didn't show what to do with the ends when done.
I did the wrap properly but paracord looks all twisted, dang Idk
I'm about to do this to like 30 feet of Paracord lol
👍👍
To have and to half knot
But ending is not that clear...
Hey!
I particularly like this way of finishing:
