    It looks like the custom shop did a great job on your 113. I have a custom 112 and a custom 501. Both look and feel great.

    That's a knife that checks a lot of boxes for me. I've been watching a number of videos lately on fixed, EDC knives, and have begun to narrow down my preferences.
    Not sure if I want to go pocket or belt carry yet, but leaning towards pocket. I realize you can always change sheaths or modify an existing one, and I do leatherwork myself so that would be no issue at all, but the knife itself has to be right to begin with.
    The choices you made resulted in a beautiful knife. Enjoy it! Your video has helped push me along in my search.

      That’s phenomenal. That’s really why I make these videos so that people can have choices. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s on my hip right now. When In doubt, get one of each. Life is short!

    That looks amazing! I just found a company here in Australia making the same design with 9cr stainless for probably 50 usd, tassie tiger knives. Ordered one i guess will see, if its as handy as people say on red and sambar deer ill probably look into ordering one that nice one day.

      I disagree....It is well made, perfect balance, just a perfect example of craftsmanship.

    So maturity dictates that I move away from bayonets and into miniature knives? This knife has a very small and thin handle which you rotate in the palm making a dangerous skinning knife. Steel is probably the cheapest knife steel and doesn't hold its edge at all. There is no way you can scrape a small boar or deer with this knife without stopping to sharpen it. Good for skinning rabbits or living room hunters.

      If you think s30v is “cheap steel” please tell me what good steel is. It’s one of the hardest steels available.

    • @arkas6797
      @arkas6797 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@motoknivesandgunsbyjt I watched the video again with more attention. The automatic translator says you have two options of steel 420HC or 420HC, it doesn't say S30V steel. I thought your knife had 420 steel. S30V steel is amazing steel. Watching the video again I noticed the amazing hunting lines of the back of the knife and also the curved shape of the edge. I apologize for my mistake.

      I cannot comment on the best heat treatment due to lack of company data. Besides, Buck on its official website does not mention the degrees of hardness of the knife, perhaps it considers it an insignificant detail of the HC grade. Hardness ratings are available for every knife other than Buck. So how do you tell me about the possible best heat treatment? Of course he quotes the following comically to the prospective buyers ''*Please note: When we make handles from natural products, you will find nature's 'trademarks'. In most cases, these markings are not defects, but a design of nature itself. Each one will have its own personality and distinct appearance unlike handles created from man-made materials.'' What elegant lawyerly words that hide a great truth, Buck's handles are not wooden but ``man-made materials'' to deceive the naive buyers. If the Dymondwood that Buck uses in its handles to mimic wood isn't a man-made material then what is?

      I totally agree with you, most knife owners with exotic steels not only don't know how to sharpen them but have them permanently on their nightstand. My hunting knives are 440C, ATS34, ELMAX, A2 steel, I also have a Fallkniven VG10 which I don't use because the edge breaks easily. Knives can scrape a deer or a boar without needing intermediate sharpening. I always sharpen my knives with water stones so sharpening in the forest is not easy, I just have a second knife with me.
