    Wow what a heartbreaker . over landing in the wild and rough tracks of the out back of any country can be hard on rigs , but a good out look on life can get you through any thing , plus that is part of over landing in the wilds , things break . Even top of the line gear like a patriot camper or your over landing rig .but looking back later it will still have been worth it all , and was still a awesome adventure even when you break things . Awesome video you all .cheers and keep safe . And thanks for sharing your awesome videos with us all . From Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A.

    Glad everyone was OK! Props to you for showing this. Most manufacturers would have edited that part out of the video and pretended like nothing had happened.

    These things happen when you're overlanding. We need to thank you for being committed to testing with your crew in addition to the feedback you get from your customers. You might design/build your gear so that you personally believe it will survive most ugly situations... but the reality is that operational testing will present you and your customers with things you never thought would happen. Your children will run a company that still sees these kinds of challenges, but we as customers will still benefit from your testing and the feedback of your customers, even then.

    Wow , That was gut wrenching , I honestly feel devastated for you Justin , I think in this case should have left Murthy's law back in Australia , So glad that the Family wasn't hurt though , You build those campers bloody tough , as a fitter and turner the force to break that would have been intense you definitely build them tough , my gut and the hairs stood up on my arms watching this your so amazing ,and the fact you showed this and what happens if you hit a cut out in the road it reminded me of the time your little bro took his eyes of the road and broke his front wheel wow even that was intense , anyway looking forward on how you fix this enigma, and if anyone can fix it you can.

    So impressed with you showing a freak accident failure! and I'm guessing its a part that you don't actually manufacture yourself. Even so....Extreme freak accidents occur!! I had a bad accident in my AEV Ram about a month ago with your PCOR tray on the back and a Flatbed camper on top. I rolled more times then I could count and ended up 300 feet down a canyon! The quality build of your PCOR tray keeping that camper on my truck till the 5th or 7th roll is what saved my life! Waiting for Matt @ exploration Outfitter to order me a new PCOR for my new build. Hurry the f&*K up, and start putting steel in containers for the US would ya!!!!???? Big love to you all!

  • @turbostyler
    @turbostyler 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If the camper failed with the sheet metal, or fasteners, or a critical design flaw which made it fail, I would understand the disappointment. But a sheared stub axle is something beyond the realms of control for a camper. I'm unsure if billet steel stub axles would even solve the issue or add to the problem in a different way? Maybe a modular stub axle assembly with the existing stub axles is the go for a "super remote model camper" keeping the stub the "weakest" point of failure. If it shears like that, then bang in a new assembly and away you go. At least the bearings are still in good nick. 🤣

  • @mauritzploeg1087

    Justin, don’t be so hard on yourself at least the family is safe. The axel on the X1 can be replaced or maybe improved. But as you mention that was a massive impact and is very hard to calculate the strength of an axel that will withstand that shock. Safety is the key word and nothing happened to any one of your family. Still the best trailer out there I think..!! Thanks for the Awesome videos that you guys are pushing out at Patriot games.

    I recently had a bearing fail and trailer wheel come off at 110km/h starting a grass fire during the recent fire period in NSW in the middle of nowhere so I kind of feel your pain and emotion Justin. Luckily I had mobile reception and was able to call the rural firies and all was sorted within a few hours. Continued on and had to leave the trailer off the side of the road for a week until I could return the remaining 6 hours of the trip to repair it.
