- In this video I show you how I make a two-piece, percher style hat block. It's a contemporary block with endless possibilities. In an future video, I'll show you how to block on it.
You can watch how to make your own blocking tie here:

New subscriber - thanks for sharing how to use inexpensive items!
I loved all your videos, and how you explain every detail of the process. I just want it to mention that when you start cutting the centre, you mentioned to measure 1.5inches but I noticed that it’s actually 1 1/4 inches… sorry if I am pointing this out 🙈 thank you again for sharing with us your amazing craftsmanship
This worked really well. I just made the half ball with blocking cord. Was super
Easy to understand. Thanks.

@@StitchingVulture Yes I found them - awesome!!! :)
Thanks Soo much
But where do buy this formbol from?
Most big craft stores sell it.
Can you share the sizes of the Styrofoam spheres that you used please. Thank you for sharing this, will ask my hubbie to have a go for me.
I used 6 inch styrofoam balls. The bigger the sphere, the flatter the curve of the hat, but you can make bigger bases with a larger ball.
@@StitchingVulture Hi thank you. There seem to be 2, one larger one smaller. Can you clarify for me please. Looking forward to tryi g this out
The smaller one is used later in the blocking. There is a separate video on that.
perhaps a cutter knife would be better handled
You can use whatever tool you want.
