I really can't express enough how awesome the voice acting in FromSoft games is. The way she softens - almost breaks her voice when she says: "Of course... I do love you." Plus these games make me realise how much I appreciate a girl expressing her love through respect. I mean it is so rare to see this type of affection portrayed in western media.
Bloodborne, not only introduced me into deepest cosmic existential dread, but this wondrous heartheavy melody I’ve heard many times in some of my most somber and humble moments. I’ve lost all that I’ve ever held dear, every good memory tortures painfully for the loss. What Bloodborne brings across and shows and teaches, I kinda felt my entire life. Now most of my life feels like a dream, an old memory, shrouded in fog. Without much influence over it my mind and especially dreams have always tortured me with fears of my deepest losses. I feel like the main character from the Silver Key. For all it’s theory and cold and distant approach our reality takes, since growing up, I’ve lost every wonder and passion I ever had for this world, to the point that I welcome nightmares more than dreams, because it’s more pleasant to awaken from a nightmare and not as grueling to witness one at night, instead of a dream.

In those dark moments we try to stay strong, I've endured a loss a few months ago now, this morning I just woke up after dreaming about him, embraced him my arms before it disapeared in front of me. I'm in a dark place right now. Sometimes I wish I could live through those nightmares instead of reality.
XxxJim_ the_ ReaperxxX it’s either transcendence or just contact with the Great Ones but I’m pretty sure it’s transcendence. Transcending would essentially be turning into a Great One. I don’t remember the exact quote but it’s something like “seek pale blood to transcend the hunt”(there’s more I’d like to expand on this quote but it’d be too much to type). Pale blood is pretty much the blood of the Great ones. Now you can’t actually get pale blood BUT you can get 3 umbilical cords of a Great One meaning you will essentially turn into an infant Great One and thus have pale blood and this is done in the hunter’s dream where this song plays. Best of all this song only plays if you have high enough insight which basically is just how much knowledge you have of the eldritch beings and what not. All in all this theme despite it being a theme just shows how well From cared about the atmosphere of the game and even the details of the game. Also I said “Great one/s” and “pale blood” a lot so my bad.
If you have 50 Insight it might still do (50 will trigger the music change before Rom and spawn witches). I'm not there myself yet on my 50+ Insight character so I'll have to let you know when I get there.
It plays in the hunter’s dream even when it’s not on fire but as others have said you need high enough insight. I don’t know where they’re getting 50 or 60 from you just need 40. Although it might be a bit glitchy as I’ve went below 40 insight and it’ll still be playing and that’s after reloading the area.
I listen to it as I fall asleep, I watch it as I deliberate. I feel in control, I feel relaxed. It takes me to a corner of my psyche that is unaffected by the vagaries of life. Truly calming.
Bloodborne's music never grows stale and the lore despite being studied to death still fascinates me as if it was the first time I've ever had the chance to read it.
I feel calm, as if I can finally rest....., but a feeling of sadness caused by dread and something utterly tragic eminates from this. It tells me to let something out or something go, with my own purpose and by my very own will, without a thought of the world and beyond. Bloodborne just gives you a feeling like nothing else.
This game was my first foray into the souls series, when I hear this now after playing almost 1500 hours and becoming a researcher of the lore, I almost instantly close my eyes as if by some deep primal instinct, the dream is warm and inviting, as if to say “you’ve come so far through so much pain now is the time for rest” every time I hear this I instinctively close my eyes lay back, and bask in the calming dulcet tones, of the Moonlit Melody
Soundcloud assisted me in stumbling across this track, and it opened the door for me to Bloodborne. I listened to it daily for weeks before ever playing the game. It was mesmerising and hauntingly beautiful. I then later found out my house mate at the time had Bloodborne downloaded on his PS4, it had just been sitting there barely played by him. I almost felt like the game and world within it wouldn’t captivate as this piece of music did. I finally delved in, not knowing what to expect. And it simply left me in awe. Always strange to think I would have never gotten immersed in that world if not for some ‘Soundcloud Serendipity’.
I am not sure what draws me back to this place time and time again, and yet there is a haunting acceptance followed by a pleasant calmness that I will no doubt return once again
The first time hearing this, I felt like killing Rom was my first significant action that shook the fabric of the world around me, and that the end was near. Hearing this for the first time in the dream made me think that I was at a special part in the story of this Hunter. Shit was getting real.
Absolutely chilling, I hope Elden ring will have the default hub area theme be something more like Majula, and after an optional questline have the theme be something like this.
I got shocked the first time I heard this, I said to myself there is something wrong, this is not the song I usually hear here. took me years to know the reason. I shed a tear when I know why the song changed.. holy God this song is strong enough to break steel melted on a solid rock size like the earth

I've always had this theory that the source of the singing is actually the Moon Presence herself. The two triggers for Moonlit Melody to replace Hunter's Dream are to either beat Rom, or gain high enough insight. The only difference in either case, is the Hunter's ability to hear the Moon Presence.
You must be quick to this Good Hunter. That for a pain to be staved a pain must be given. I give to you choice. Which is better, to be healed or to know. Run your fingers across your thoughts and quickly the quality of this specific courage shall be made known.
I'm teaching English class and we're reading Frankenstein; this and the Hunter's Dream themes are PERFECT for matching the sadness and melancholy of the Creature.
Listening to this as I finish “When Christ and His Saints Slept” by Sharon Kay Penman and knowing what happens to the people after the events of the book makes me so sad. This fits the feel perfectly even though the book itself ends happily. Too bad their lives didn’t for the most part.
The funny thing is, when this happens in the game (the Workshop burning, I mean) there's no music. It's actually the time this music stops playing in the game, until the next cycle.

nah, demons souls was best, including the hub area itself and the atmosphere of it, so was ds1s firelink imo, to this day i havent heard of a soundtrack as hopelessly tragic and intrinsically tied to the its own game like ds1's firelink shrine music, but hunters dream is better than the rest to me, with only elden's roundtable hold coming close, i think roundtable has better atmosphere but bb beats it with the music, majula was amazing but not as good as the ones i mentioned, i think ds3s safe area is the only one thats not really up to snuff imo and felt like an after thought at best.
