    So great to see this! I have many hours logged in this AC in the '90's when it was at PAE, what an enjoyable flashback!!

    I like your grip...the way you protect both the throttle and mixture!

    I like the fact that you recognize that you're a safe pilot. Some seasoned pilots tend to take their experience for granted and start taking shortcuts. Don't Ever do that! Plus - they tend to not read their FAR/AIMS anymore. Best to ya Christy Wong!

    Hey guys.... I love the channel, great content. I live in Florida and actually just bought a piper archer with the intent of renting it to others, something like a flight club. Any info on how that works and how I can start one would be great... thanks, keep up the great work

    Ah Denton; the memories: My English flight instructor hit me on the jaw right here. We had an argument in a Seminole as to whether being unable to restart a feathered engine constituted an emergency. On another occasion I saw a huge rattlesnake as thick as a wrist.

    I think I spotted something: When Ms Wong closed the carb heat she immediately reduced the throttle to idle. From bitter experience I found that you must pause, verify the RPMs have returned to normal before reducing the throttle to ensure the carb heat is not stuck open which happened to me one fine day at Van Nuys when I took off with carb heat still on though the lever was in the off position.

    Didyou use flaps on take off?...

    • @johnopalko5223
      @johnopalko5223 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watch the takeoff. The view from the tail cam clearly shows zero flaps. Normal takeoff in the Warrior is no flaps. You use one notch for a short-field takeoff.

    It's funny that you think the visibility is poor; you should fly in L.A. where the air is Brown up to about 4000' (AGL) Ft. I'm Serious!

      I live and fly in Mammoth Lakes! CA where the skies are severe clear and blue when it isn’t snowing. It is really gross when we fly down to the Los Angeles basin.

    sterile cockpit when on final ?
    Pulling the pilot camera while on FINAL ! ???
    Bumpy day, distracted, low time pilot..... Busy airspace....
    just a big ole bowl of wrong.

    • @thefireman2854
      @thefireman2854 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually the most dangerous is when you have 2 pilots. Passenger constatly "doing something" without telling Pilot first. The "we are both pilots" so it is safer attitude can creep in easy. It is best to put passenger in charge of reading physical checklist cards. No small talk except when in cruise.

    Do flying clubs allow newly minted Private pilots join flying clubs

    • @TakingOff
      @TakingOff  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each club might have different insurance requirements, but for the most part, just need to be certificated and then checked out in the club's planes. They might have a certain requirement of hours in the plane before allowing you to take it out.

    • @pilotchristy
      @pilotchristy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't speak for ALL flying clubs, but my flying club will let new private pilots join. You will have to do a full checkout in each aircraft with a club CFI, and each plane will have its own checkout requirements.

    • @JakeHallNY
      @JakeHallNY 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually joined my club as a student pilot and have been doing all my PPL work in club planes. We have 5 aircraft and 2 are insured for student use.
