    The challenge is mostly in planning how to attack a "complex" cad project for me. Where to start defining features so that everything goes together at the end. You seem to have that down way better! It's a joy watching your videos and I'm always learning. Not only about freecad but about how to plan and order of operations. A very long way to say thanks!

    During the pandamic I had decided to use Freecad for professional work (mould designing). Little did I know about freecad 0.18 capabilities. Even though I have been using freecad evey now and then for opening and inpecting step files, I had no clue of its recent developments.
    Thanks to you and a few other youtube tutors.. I did make a few mould desings which will be in production soon.
    Just wanted to let you know that your followers (students) are watching and appreciate your efforts🙏
    P.S. I used to make my mould designs on fusion 360. But I have a soft corner for freecad (because of the concept of "opensource" and "developed by community") I feel that the only way I can contribute to the freecad comunity is by removing the hobby tag and using it professionally.
    Thank you once again 🙂

    That's an intricate looking part. I'm sure people with their 3D printers will be getting some Ideas from this tutorial. Thanks.

    I made a response video trying to improve on JOKO's process. JOKO has comments with links filtered out, but if you search, it's called "Cylindrical grid of hexagons in FreeCAD - the right way!"

    Stunning object. Just spent 5 hours reproducing it and learning shed loads about FreeCad. Looking forward to looking at your other vids. Thanks so much for sharing.

    Thanks for another excellent video. I do this for a hobby and without Freecad being free and videos like this, 3D drawing would be beyond my means and abilities.

    I learn a lot from your videos, thank you a lot for these! You create the most advanced tutorials around FreeCAD.
    Maybe I can give you also something back, a small / quick tip how to easier click / select the round points (markers). Under Edit->Preferences->Display->"Marker size" you can set a bigger size. The default was for me to small, so I have now 13px (you can go up to 15px). This helps a lot, hope you too!

    You might not believe this but ChatGPT can’t quite output code in OpenSCAD to make honeycomb mesh parts. So I had to resort to a measly human. Thanks Joko

    Awesome! Do you have plans for creating any assembly in FreeCAD, preferably with the Assembly 4 workbench?

    • @JokoEngineeringhelp
      @JokoEngineeringhelp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have one coming on the A2+ workbench first, and then Assembly 4!

    LOL yesterday been looking for way to do patterning like this.. took me about 4 hours to figure this out using only part design bench.

      Wow I was a day late! Nice work on the part design workbench

      @@JokoEngineeringhelp There are some disadvantages to my method. For my personal use I will modify your method. I will make these pasterns in single rows. Its only for even number of rows. I'm doing patterning from both sides of the object and it works like charm.

    Great,,please can you do a tutorital on curve surface i've been trying to make full face protection shield/mask for covid 19 ..but its getting difficult..i'll really appreciate.

    • @JokoEngineeringhelp
      @JokoEngineeringhelp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this is the kind of surfacing you're looking for? the surface at 12:00 should be similar to something that a face shield would have. You can surface it out and then part>offset filled surface to make it a solid

    Thanks, great video. I tried making it but at 7:42 when your array comes into view, mine doesn't. Any thoughts about what I might be doing wrong? I'm a beginner using 018 but I tried several times and the array is not working.

    • @JokoEngineeringhelp
      @JokoEngineeringhelp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Neil; The arrays can be a little tricky. This part is available on GrabCAD in the description, would it help to download it and see if the settings on it match what you're doing or if the problem persists on your machine?

      As a fellow FreeCAD newbie, I usually found that when the tool was greyed out or not working, its because I've still got something else open in the task tab. For example, if you're editing a sketch, and then switch to the Draft workbench, the array tool is not available until you close the sketch. Early on, I made this mistake constantly.
      I also find that some dialogs can be confusing because if I click "close", I think it means I'm done, but it actually cancels the creation if I haven't done all the entry dialogs yet. The Parts workbench "Rotate" tool gets me on this every time.

      @neilnagel9857 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DanielRisacher Hi Daniel, thanks for your input. That was quite a while back and although I kind of let that project go, I have since been able to use the array tool without much of a problem. So I must have been making some kind of beginner mistake. But following this channel and others and doing their practice projects has really made the freecad journey enjoyable.
