Madyapur Thimi Sindur Jatra 2081 | Biska Jatra I Dhime Baja

Sindur Jatra, also known as Sindoor Jatra or Sindoor Jatra, is a vibrant festival celebrated in Thimi, Nepal. It typically falls in April, marking the Nepali New Year. The festival is renowned for its exuberant procession, where participants carry chariots bearing the idols of various deities, including the revered god Bhairab.
One of the most striking features of Sindur Jatra is the liberal use of vermillion powder, or sindoor, which gives the festival its name. Participants joyously smear each other with sindoor, symbolizing the celebration of life, fertility, and the triumph of good over evil.
