    Glad you guys made this video. I was kind of intimidated about changing the nozzles myself until I watched it. I ordered a set and they were really easy to change and I’m happy with how the truck runs with them

    Getting ready to install my new PDD injectors today. With ~18* of timing, would you go skinny or medium copper washers? Will mentioned if you run a lot of timing run the skinny but I'm not sure 18* is what he's talking about. Thanks!

    Can bigger injector nozzles be put on stock bodies? I have my 5x10 stock injectors, could they properly atomize a 5x14 nozzle? Or will it spray with less pressure and burn dirty? Thank you.

    • @pddofficial
      @pddofficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, bigger nozzles are put on stock bodies every day of the week! Body modifications don't really become necessary till nozzle size surpasses 5x018".

    So large nozzle injectors will flow just as little as stocks because of inmproper pressure balance between control area and needle area. Translation: large nozzles are lazy and extend duration time and injector duration with the same energize time. The goal is to mimic stock injector timing with larger higher flowing nozzles. Question- how much bigger of a nozzle before body modification is needed? In other words, accepted timing goes out of spec at what percentage of the nozzle being enlarged. I want to do 60% nozzle swaps. Thank you.

    What about spray angle ? Does it make any difference on performance or why there are 3 different angles for the 24V. I want to get a set but not sure what's best for me

    • @pddofficial
      @pddofficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the spray angle does matter, the smaller degree allows you to run more timing because the injector is spraying deeper into the bowl but this generally only matters for really high powered trucks. we have ran all of them and find the 153 to be the best all around angle.

    So have big of a nozzle is a stock 24v injector able to run?

    • @randomname6973
      @randomname6973 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All depends on transmission set up, fuel pump, vp44 wear, etc. Generally if you just have a stock truck I think a 50-75 hp injector will be tons especially if you still have a stock tranny be careful. I do know of guys running much bigger injectors in stock trucks though. Just remember smokey means hot and heat isnt good. Plus if you dont have an aftermarket lift pump, id be getting one asap even if its just a temporary ddrp or adjustable fass or airdog 100 gph pump. If youre getting injectors, get the supporting mods first, and if youre wanting a cleaned up truck, id invest in a tuner first and see how you like it. Edge and quadzilla tuners work well with these injectors.
