Dude came thru playing the piano and I was like, "Oh, that's cool" Then he whipped out the bass, then the guitar, and I was like, "Holy shit!" By the time the trumpet came around, I was already dead. I only came back to let niggas know that this what real producers do.
I mean j dilla didn’t play instruments on his records I believe he was mainly a sample based producer but he’s one of if not the greatest producer of all time and he changed not just hip hop, but many genres with his drums so I don’t know what real producer means
Dowdy Beats ... the standard bar. 9th Wonder, Just Blaze and a handful of other Rhythm Roulette were on this level...but the inclusion of multiple live instrumentation actually played by the producer is simply next level.
You don't always have to be THAT "great" at doing it either though. Because you can always just play around randomly on it and then just resample it yourself and then chop or manipulate it like you would anything else when sampling something off of a record and ect...
Instead of doing the whole traditional TH-cam reply...tell me why I am dumb so we can have an educated discussion on the matter. There's no point in doing this tired "fuck your opinion, so I'm going to name call the person" act.
Pretentious isn't really what I'm trying to accomplished with the statement. Look, almost everybody say they are producers but don't live up to the title. Folks use it as a badge or honor and a bit of self confidence, but in reality they are just making beats. These dudes not only flip a sample, but added their own flare to the mix. Using live instruments and proper guidance to the song. Now, my statement may have ruffled some feathers but at the end of the day, it's all love and respect. If anything, I'm happy that people are making music even if it's on a maschine, FL Studio, or even in a band. So for those that took the statement to the heart, my deepest sorrows...
These guys aren't just beatmakers, they're actual musicians. At 2:20 when the keys came in, I knew it was gonna be FAYA! This was absolutely incredible! And they made 2 tracks.
Whoa!! Why am I just seeing this episode? That was hella clean! They actually selected random records, used live instruments, great use of samples, refreshing to watch these musicians at work. One of THE BEST episodes thus far. Very impressive.
I was pleasantly surprised with this episode. I never hear of this duo but will be checking for them. They put together some dope tracks with the inclusion of live instruments. I really got into how their live drums sounded!!!
the best thing about this RR specifically is that so many other producers make the shit look so easy, but these two really showcase how much talent they have for music.
These guys are amazingly talented tell me an instrument they can’t play just off this video. They nailed the bass, drums, trumpet, and keys, this was incredible.
Its great to see the other episodes of this and see producers flip samples and get a hot drum loop going, but as someone with a background in genres other than just hip hop its great to see producers bring more composing and live playing to the table. I always found the live instruments brought Dr Dre's production to life. Very impressed.
Tha Swami I'd like to see what they would do individually because Tae Beast's beats sound different from Dave Free's and Sounwave's beats sound different from Nez & Rio.
Here you can see the difference between people who are producers/beat makers, and actual musicians. This was a completely different kind of rhythm roulette, and it was dope as hell.
so sooo good
this is defenetly the best rythme roulette ever: The live instruments, the samples, the vibe... everything is good
This is the most underrated rhythm roulette. They've got a new fan
Dude came thru playing the piano and I was like, "Oh, that's cool"
Then he whipped out the bass, then the guitar, and I was like, "Holy shit!"
By the time the trumpet came around, I was already dead.
I only came back to let niggas know that this what real producers do.
Can't lie they killed me with that trumpet! But to me they're more musicians than producers but still their sh... is hotter than a mother 😂
BIG FACTS
I mean j dilla didn’t play instruments on his records I believe he was mainly a sample based producer but he’s one of if not the greatest producer of all time and he changed not just hip hop, but many genres with his drums so I don’t know what real producer means
As a producer. This really inspired me to work harder
GYPTXVN this makes me feel like I need to learn guitar asap and start using my piano a lot more
Mr. Super Fly Maaaan I've been itching to learn how to play guitar for a while lately too.
Mr. Super Fly if you ever pick one up or find a decent guitar and good tutorials to start with, please let me know lol.
To work smarter and not overthink the first of our ideas and just run with them!
Gotta respect how proficient they are with their instruments. They're extremely talented.
Wow all the live instruments, this was really fresh to see on this series. Very nice
The bar has officially been raised!!!
What bar?
Didn't know 9th made another on-camera beat.
+KidCooties 😂😂😂😂😂🔥👌
Dowdy Beats ... the standard bar. 9th Wonder, Just Blaze and a handful of other Rhythm Roulette were on this level...but the inclusion of multiple live instrumentation actually played by the producer is simply next level.
Yeah this is definately one of the best.
Definitely one of the Top 5 episodes of RR. Loved this.
Co-Sign this!!
those horns came out crazy.. i'm getting a trumpet.. FUCK.
I was thinking the same shit
I thought the same one year ago after listening to them. I got one. And I failed...
PRAXISIMPEL you need practice. not everyone can do that in such a short time
Don't quit! Keep playing!
You don't always have to be THAT "great" at doing it either though. Because you can always just play around randomly on it and then just resample it yourself and then chop or manipulate it like you would anything else when sampling something off of a record and ect...
These guys are f*cking geniuses! Would love to hear the entire track
IndieCurrent never heard of you, but I just subscribed to your channel because of this comment lol.
Their new ep features this beat! It's called opposite ways!
See folks...these dudes are producers...not beatmakers. This video was incredible.
You are Dumb.
Instead of doing the whole traditional TH-cam reply...tell me why I am dumb so we can have an educated discussion on the matter. There's no point in doing this tired "fuck your opinion, so I'm going to name call the person" act.
+poet215 I agree with what you're saying but you're coming off as very pretentious which isn't really conducive to productive discussions
Pretentious isn't really what I'm trying to accomplished with the statement. Look, almost everybody say they are producers but don't live up to the title. Damn, man, you just schooled some kids, and did it in an intellectual and mature manner. Rare to see that happen in TH-cam. Respect.
The fact that they used actual instruments is refreshing as fuck. This was too good!
WHY haven't i heard of these guys before? this is one of the best RR episodes. the fact they're actual musicians enhances everything 100x.
These guys aren't just beatmakers, they're actual musicians. At 2:20 when the keys came in, I knew it was gonna be FAYA! This was absolutely incredible! And they made 2 tracks.
That second beat they flipped is the definition of perfection. 😱🔥
Now THAT is how you produce a beat!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
(abruptly stands up, knocking over chair. Gives fervent standing ovation.) You guys are awesome.
Ok, this is thee best one so far!!!
It's up there. Da Beatminerz, DJ Dahi, Hi-Tek, & 9th Wonder would round out my Top 5 RR's.
+Ocean Sage Did you watch Large Professor's?
Eye of the Bystander Yeah, it's great too! Those 4 I mentioned and Large Professor probably are the best. They hold up well.
+Ocean Sage what about big krit though???😞
DONNIE DUFRANE I liked his beat, but it's not my favorite.
These are some seriously talented multi-instrumentalists. I always admire these kinds of versatile jack-of-all-trades producers.
This and 9th Wonder's are the best Rhythm Roulettes.
Art by Atlas Stro Elliot's
Art by Atlas and marco polo and childish major
stro's was crazy...
Silly, 9th wonder and Carmacks are the best.
9ths was weak asf
my favorite rythm roulette episode so far
Damn...all that second beat needs is a touch of trumpet and a few verses from Black Thought and it would be perfect.
Real Talk
Man!!! They gave this that jazzy soul!! Love it!
anybody notice at 3:42 they ended up sampling that part for their song "Opposite ways" GOOD SHIT
Whoa!! Why am I just seeing this episode? That was hella clean! They actually selected random records, used live instruments, great use of samples, refreshing to watch these musicians at work. One of THE BEST episodes thus far. Very impressive.
One of the best rhythm roulette episode fr
WOW, when the trumpet came in I lost it. Best rhythm roulette so far! SO talented
They actually used the second one. "Brasstracks - Opposite Ways"
WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Jeez that final track is monster.
gota be one of the best roulettes so far
6 years later this is STILL bangin'!!!!
4:26 - 5:36 ... possibly the best thing I've heard on RR ever. Had a very similar sound to Nujabes and Shing02.
true musicians as they show it right here on rythm roulette, not just a sample, not just a note ,really fun watching you guys, congrats!
I wish they would let you download the tracks they make or at least listen to them
Yes or make a mixtape of all the tracks or something. Lol
they have it up on their brasstracks soundcloud.. but sadly only the first beat as far as i know
Cant find it? What is it called? Is it taken down now?
+SLOWMO BEATS yoo where can you find it on soundcloud, i cant find it, im desperate
Some of them post the track on soundcloud afterwards, you can peep estas on his page if your into his style
By far one of the best of the series.
black shirt is very lucky to have white shirt in his life.
For real doh
heeelllaaarrrioooousssss!!!!!!
xaxaxax :D
Lol thinking the same thing. White shirt is clearly the Pharrell of this duo.
+chavedappelle lol I think you mean white shirt is chad
That second one is 😍 LOVE
Very happy I clicked on this
I always like when they have groups on. You can tell these guys understand each other's creative mindset.
Curtis Wallen yea it is cool to see groups from time to time. Like the Da Beatminerz and ect...
the second one is tough, the Gene record, that piano and bassline was everything for me
The second one - awesome!
This shits fire. Top 3 rhythm roulettes IMO. I encourage a FRIENDLY debate.
I personally thought dj dahi's rythm roulette was the best, but this rythm roulette surpasses what he did. The live drums did it for me.
I agree. Large Professor is definitely up there for me as well, and I also really liked Statik Selektah's
+Isaak Perez definitely large pro or el p, they both flipped the hell outta their material
oooh that's true, dj dahi's was hot!
can you list your other tops? cmon
I was pleasantly surprised with this episode. I never hear of this duo but will be checking for them. They put together some dope tracks with the inclusion of live instruments. I really got into how their live drums sounded!!!
Dude, I must have that 2nd beat with the strings. That's amazing.
One of the best ones I’ve seen.
Questlove would be dope on here
Yep!!!
Or mf doom
How about 6ix? Logic? or Alchemist?
questlove ur not in the house
I thought of Quest-Love as soon as I heard him double up on the snare hit!
Okay... I just climbed out from under a rock and discovered Brasstracks for the first time, and these dudes are dope lol!!
kaytranada next
Knxwledge would be cool too.
what you mean
***** Really? Did he ever say why?
yea on twitter. might be sarcastic tho'
would love to see him
YES!
in my top 3 Rhythm Roulettes ever
2nd beat was so smooth!
i just love these guys. second track was used for "opposite ways" on their second record in case anyone is still interested. :)
They killed this shit! These guys are actual producers, not just beat makers
Your also Dumb.
+Dowdy Beats you're *
See me in the cut bitch.
what's wrong with beatmakers ?
King Charleton
nothing. i make them as well
the best thing about this RR specifically is that so many other producers make the shit look so easy, but these two really showcase how much talent they have for music.
this is so dope, BADBADNOTGOOD next!!!!
Yes!!!!
Still needs to happem
I found these guys on soundcloud years ago, glad there're still doing it. Very very talented cats.
*They got soul.*
These guys are amazingly talented tell me an instrument they can’t play just off this video. They nailed the bass, drums, trumpet, and keys, this was incredible.
These guys got me questioning what I'm doing with my life.
OMG this is not fair!!! These guys are talented. The sample got drowned in their own creation..SICK!!
Dope famz! Really, really dope
You don’t need the perfect room, the most expensive converters, the latest mic...
Just know what you’re doing and love what you do.
Get jake one
I concur
Me's a agree.
That would be dope
jake one confirmed for next week
twitter.com/JakeUno/status/758072907943677952 +G1Pro
it's always cool to watch your rhythm roulette vids and see what real hip hop is! using real drums, using brass, that's all hip hop
j cole next after seeing his tour bus beat thingy
What tour bus beat things are u talking about
Yo that was from his 2014 forest hills drive tour, long time ago
EdGuy you got a link to that? Or does anyone else in here have a link to it? I'm very interested and intrigued now. Lol
Its great to see the other episodes of this and see producers flip samples and get a hot drum loop going, but as someone with a background in genres other than just hip hop its great to see producers bring more composing and live playing to the table. I always found the live instruments brought Dr Dre's production to life. Very impressed.
What is the song playing in the intro? Fire af
Brasstracks - Say U Won't
The best showcase of live instrumentation on RR imo💯🥁🎷🎺🎸
DID THEY MAKE ONE OF CHANCE THE RAPPER BEATS IDK BUT ILL BUY THIS BEAT FOR $20,000 FR.
Yeah I believed they produced a few of Chance's songs.
no problem off coloring book
One of the best RR's in my opinion these guys xtremeley talented thanks for putting me on!
This one is definitely up there with 9th Wonder. Totally unexpected.
One of the best rhythm roulettes ive seen. an inspiration !
Get Tae Beast, Sounwave, or Nez & Rio.
100
for real
Why not the whole Digi-Phonics crew.
Tha Swami I'd like to see what they would do individually because Tae Beast's beats sound different from Dave Free's and Sounwave's beats sound different from Nez & Rio.
Ocean Sage Understandble, but I would just like to see more Digi-Phonics work in general...
Brasstracks just got a new fan. Very educational, much appreciation.
Top 3 Episode alongside 9th Wonder and Stro Elliott.
Here you can see the difference between people who are producers/beat makers, and actual musicians. This was a completely different kind of rhythm roulette, and it was dope as hell.
7 minutes is too short for this
Gorgeous sound.
Jake uno
I hope so
twitter.com/JakeUno/status/758072907943677952
+đozlioni 013 it's lit
They heard us man
This is one of my favs!!! They killed it! Both beats were dope!
Ahh, some solid jazz-hop right here. Get Black Thought, Nieve and Felix from Heiru on it.
Amazing to see how these guys work
The "MADLIB" is stong in these tow!
what are these weird drum machines they use? They got weird instrument shapes
hahaha
Lol
Where are the drum pads? Lol
They're the round things you bash with sticks. The action on them is horrible.
Scubadog and that trumpet synth midi controller thing too. 👀
Who ever gave the thumbs down, you obviously only make trap beats, have absolutely NO soul and think making beats only comes in producer packs.
This to me musically is the best mass appeal of all!!!the way they made it sound like a band was crazy 💥💥💥love it do ya thang fellas💯💯
where that Robert Glasper X Brasstracks colab at
So 🤬 I slept on these guys. They are super talented. One of the best features on Rhythm Roulette!
feel so bad that the got the jack u record
beautiful symphony! Fo real! amazing! real musicianship! lol heart and soul!
sample sounds like what was used in Father Stretch My Hands pt. 2 by Kanye West
Sounds very similar!
Thats what gospel music sounds like.
Thanks I didn't know! douche
No problem.
These could be the best two beats in the whole Rhythm Roulette series! That beat with the trumpets was straight flames!
these cats are sickly talented. love live instruments, next level. cats need to get back to this style of producing
Big thanks to Brasstracks...U out-did yourselves & def. one of the best 2 samples that I can rhyme too...start @ 4:20 is magical!!
finally people who use real instruments
I dno if brasstracks read the comment section of this video. But you guys seem way dwn to earth! It's super refreshing
Reg Woollford I agree
The second beat sounds like it should be on Kanye West's Graduation Album!
Probably some of the better producers I've heard on rhythm roulette
Connor looks like he's transitioning into someone's hip younger aunt.
hevquip Idk why but this was hilarious for some reason
Awe Inspiring....just when I thought I'd heard it all!!! Now..." I just wanna be your friend"
