Local tip: I love staying at The Maven in the Dairy Block. Get reservations at Urban Farmer a short walk away--you have to try the Butter Pecan Old Fashioned. Book a food tour with Taste of Denver Food tours. Get a deep history lesson of Union Station and the birth of downtown with a fun ghost tour (Dark Side of Denver is one I've done!). Start your day with Huckleberry Roasters coffee when you stay at The Maven--they usually have a free drip coffee deal when you're a guest at the hotel. P.S. I had the most awkward first date at W&G. 🤦🏻♀️😂 Only take a tried and tested date there.
Casa Bonita? oh yeah, as a long-term resident been there quite a few times over the years. and now the owners of South Park are renovating it. it's so famous we had a friend from India come over and ask about going there. so we did! gotta love it. as for a couple other good places to eat m The buckhorn exchange. I think their motto is "there's a place on earth for all of God's creatures right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy" awesome rattlesnake too for those a little less willing to experiment. The best pizza place in town: Jimmano's pizza yes they do have anchovies. There is a lot of pizza places but they've all been dropping interviews from their list of ingredients
Casa Bonita defined my childhood!! The kitschyness is what makes it great!! I hope Matt and Trey don’t change it too much!! If you’re promoting Denver, why aren’t you wearing a Rockies cap? 😉
Same here, but I’ve never bought the ‘native’ sticker for my Subaru, or felt the need to belabor the point in a YT comments section. Although I did send your parents a thank you card. That was a bold move on their behalf.
Hey Doug, great question! I've (Eli) been here for over 20 years now, and I haven't had hail damage on my car once. Now, many people have, but it's not something to be over concerned about. As far as a house goes, usually you'll get a replacement roof due to minor hail damage every 5-10 years, but people usually like that since you get a new roof for the cost of your insurance deductible.
lived her for 57yrs. you only had maybe two or three really bad hailstone the road actually closed property damage and etc. you got to remember that Colorado is a really errid state meaning not a lot of rainfall in general. so when we get that it's pretty rare.
Gentrification is happening in the main sections of the city, but there are still programs for low income and the unhoused. Having accessible destination spots in Denver is a win for all the local businesses, so since there's a balance, I see no reason to complain. Also, in the last 3 years, Casa Bonita has had an extreme overhaul and was literally purchased by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. I haven't personally been since the reopening a few months ago, but they invested quite a bit in the quality of their menu, which was it's ONLY downfall.
LOL the Riverwalk is in San Antonio! And it's a shame Denver hasn't done more with it's river beyond Confluence Park. I didn't grow up here but did make it to Casa Bonita right before Covid...horrible, gut-wrenching food but those sopapillas were ON.POINT!
There are a couple of months that will hit the mid-90's however, it's so dry out that it's way easier to handle than somewhere with humidity. It's very tolerable actually and you can still get outside to enjoy nature without it being unbearable.
My sister lives there!! I love visiting. So close to art museums and downtown yet open and pretty. Love going to the Cherry Creek? Art festival with amazing artists. Also everyone is so outgoing and friendly in Colorado. Its wonderful.
What is your guys opinion on green valley ranch? I’m interested in moving to Colorado but have been warned this area is dangerous. However when I look at listings for that area the homes are very nice. I’ve lived in some sketchy areas before and this does not seem dangerous. Maybe a video on on this could be helpful since so many nice homes are listed there for lower prices.
I live in Englewood Co, o have three friends that live in Green Valley Ranch. It's not bad, they have average size homes and some pretty big ones. It's close to the Airport.
We like Green Valley! You do get great homes for the dollar. Take a look at this website for the data: www.niche.com/places-to-live/n/gateway---green-valley-ranch-denver-co/

Do you guys know of a local downtown bar called Lucys?? Apparently it has a creepy haunted vibe and is like an underground bar

The beautiful thing about Casa Bonita, is it is being bought and saved by Trey Parker and Matt Stone - of South Park 👍
So cool right?!
A decade older than you mention and I DEFINITELY went to Casa Bonita growing up.

Hey gentelmen. Question...we keep hearing about hail in Denver. Can you talk about that. Should we be worried about our cars?

Green valley ranch is not dangerous. My sister is a realtor who lives and sells homes in green valley. NOT TRUE.
Don't dot it!! Its fake nice. Homes on top of each other.
They just say that because it’s a lot of black peoples, it’s just like montbello minorities in middle class housing

Lot of gentrification going on in downtown Denver and surrounding areas. I’m born and raised in Denver and it’s a SHAME.
Any suggested spots to visit?
Seems f*** bro every time I go downtown I just f****** never fills the same they moved Anthony's like seven blocks over from Union
That's life bro. People move in things change. Sorry. Wish it was different but......
Aussie going for about 9 spare days. What you recommend? Don’t want to go too for west past veil eg.
Thanks! August time
W&G is my go to spot when I lived there!
It's a good one!
Not to be a troll but most of these things are like the most popular attractions in Denver, def not exclusively known by locals only.
Share some other good ones here. Where should people check out that are known by locals only?
Visiting at the end of the month. Recommendations? El 5 worth it, or skip? Best speak-easy?
@@newbrooklandWilliams and Graham or B&GC

You can't say that and not mention who you're talking about. Which one of us is your favorite?! We can fight about it in our next video lol.
