When I saw this was a 47-minute long video I was like, I dunno man...that's a lot of commitment you're asking for. Then I started watching and COULD NOT STOP WATCHING. So good, boys! So good, and so proud of everything you've accomplished as a team and as a driver. Literally brought a tear this old man's eyes...
Just felt the need to point this out but Jackie's efforts and his lap time. He is quicker than the ENTIRE Limited class and even quicker than the Unlimited classed Evasive S2000 and Randy Pobst in the CSF Evo... In STREET Class. That is absolutely nuts. Congratulations Jackie, you are a beast.
Dai in that Evasive S2K did really well, for the lowest hp car on the field (it had 390 to the wheels lol). But yes, thank you, I will happily take it :)
He would have placed 4th in unlimited, absolutely unreal, Jackie+TA90=Track Weapon Congrats to Jackie, Alex, Ship, James and the rest of the crew. Well deserved and a hard fought win! When your backs were to the wall you guys crushed it!
"Full confidence, full trust... Full send" I read that and choked up so hard. Congratulations! May you be free of charge pipe issues in future. Thanks for these videos dude. They're always fun to watch
This event really tested me mentally. Having that much pressure and knowing that our past adventures in Cali hasn't ever been smooth, it was really tough to try to pull that one out of the bag. But when I'm belted in, visor down, it just felt like I knew EXACTLY what the car would do. I don't know why my attitude towards the car changed, but it definitely did and I just feel at one with it. In PhD terms, I think I got as comfy with the Supra as I did with S2K on 1:38.0 Gingerman record lap. So really, I'm over the moon ha
@@JackieDing86 good for you dude. I'm really happy for you 🙂. I could tell you were comfortable with the car by how close you got to the walls lol. The gopro footage looked fucking terrifying 😂
This was the most HYPE video you've made yet!!! My heart was racing watching the fight for traction + walls getting closer, and by then you're already linking the next corner! And Alex fighting the coupler, and the pressure on the last session. So good!
The whole process is just something else man. And that winning hail mary lap is just intense from start to finish. Congrats to you and the team for a hell of a fast supra and a slew of new streetclass time attack records this season.
Freaking amazing! So happy to have met Jackie in person. Amazing guy and having the privilege to ride in the TA90 with him was an experience I’ll never forget
dude i didnt even realize 47mins passed by what an amazing comeback! when the man said i just wanna be able to give it my all, i felt that. No regrets!
I know its a lot of effort, but as long as its feasible and as long as you want to of course, please keep these long videos up - this is EXACTLY the content and personality I crave on youtube, someone I can sit and watch/listen to, inspiring, motivating and exciting my friend. Great work team!
This journey, alone, was amazing. You guys have gotten so good a documenting the drama and the detail and the emotion. Your vlogs are better than the movies and we get to see all the highs and lows. Thankfully you guys came out on top in this one. A lot of hate for the TA90 still going on out there, keep proving em wrong!
started watching since your S2000 days… this was fucking awesome to witness. always found it amazing to watch your fearlessness on track and the chemistry between your team and yourself. keep it up man!
Awesome win!!! I just wanted to share I was thinking about selling my A90 due to all the hate and people selling their a90 due to this but after seeing this video It made me rethink about it. Know that you are an inspiration for many of us and you are putting the A90 name out there, Thanks a lot!!!
This was one hell of an emotional roller coaster to watch. The way you share your experiences makes us feel like we're living the moment with you. Seriously congrats to you and the team for pulling an amazing result, keep it up!
Jackie!!! Awesome.... You make these videos in such a normal and casual way that we can feel your pain and your happiness!!! Like we are there with you! Awesome job! And a word for Alex and the rest of the crew... you deliver allways!! You are THE TEAM to have!! Just awesome the fellowship and dedication! Men.... why do I live across the pond??? I just want to know you..... Cheers from Portugal - Europe!!
Man what an amazing watch! Made me teary when you were freakin over the moon after that 1:27 lap. HELL YEAH! Congrats to the team and what a beautiful thing Evasive did. So much awesome in this clip.
On of your best videos ever. Great coverage and who doesn't love a comeback story at such an icon event. Good job to the team and great sportsmanship all around.

Well deserved, well fucking deserved Jackie, Alex and the whole PhD crew! Congrats on the win and can't help but feel a little jelly of you talking to Yoshihara-san 😁
Good stuff jackie! One thing i recommend is turning on the spot metering setting on your gopro so that it exposes the camera for the outside rather than inside the car which is why sometimes the outside is overexposed
Big congratulations to Jackie and entire PhD team! Great display of composure on a new and difficult track, and glad it all came together in the end. So exciting to see you go faster every time. Keep on sending it out there 🤙
I loved watching you guys track walk with Indy drivers. Its great seeing y'all's genuine love of the sport and sense of wonder as you fangirl just a little. Also, you guys are an amazing team. The focus, the dedication, the common goal. It's great to watch. Cheers PhD team!
27:00 Dude thanks for explaining that as a casual racing fan I didn't know what this was about just like watching to support the racing fam. Now I'm more invested watching this episode. So many peeps on youtube would just leave that part out and then to me it seems like another day in the office. Ty for the tip lol
watching the track footage is absolutely insanity i had plenty of oh my god moments and I wasn't even driving.... this is seriously next level. amazing man!
Congratulations Jackie! The best 'mini movie' I've seen my entire life! I can literally feel the adrenaline just watching you drive this track. I've been following you since the S2000 days and I'm so glad you've got this far. As I always say, your channel is sooo underrated and I'm still hoping TH-cam starts recommending your content more to a wider audience!
I was at Buttonwillow yesterday and got to ride in Steven’s GTR. It’s pretty cool that I got to ride in a car that appeared in a Jackie Ding video lol.
Super dope Jackie! Big Congrats to you and the team. You all work so hard to achieve these goals. You only get what you put in. You deserve this. Way to go!
Jackie I couldn't love this video any more if I tried! What an amazing experience for you and the team. You guys earned every bit of that win! Congratulations man, nothing but the best for you guys in the future. I appreciate your guidance as I bring the Supra along as well. Hope to see you at Putnam next season with the Verus guys ;)
Keep on doing you man. Love your content and incredible driving skills. You got balls to full send with all those walls everywhere and its a rather big stage :)
Next time, if for whatever reason the charge pipe keeps failing and you need to repair it fast, try giving Alex your gloves, I don't think the track would get mad at you for putting your gloves while getting out to the track and we would hate to see Alex hurt himself. I was gonna say that Alex was the Goat, but to be honest, the entire team effort was fucking incredible, congrats to everyone on the team, this was amazing!
Amazing the tough up and down battles over the years of watching. Finally pull through with such happiness and emotions all around. Keep it going. Setting lots of impossible records to possible records.
Was patiently waiting for this one! Will you ever switch classes to limited or unlimited in the future? Would love to see the Supra become an all out monster o.o
As much as I'd like to, Supra wouldn't do too well in Limited or Unlimited. Reason being 1) the weight, 2) the electronic complexity means if we want to go more aggressive, we will have to do a Papadakis and ditch the entire vehicle's electronic system and go full standalone ECU, a different sequential transmission, a new rear differential, an entirely new brake system & ABS, and build everything from the ground up, like the FD Pro cars and of course our friend Ryan Tuerck's Formula Supra. Two entirely different build philosophy, but the #TA90 project is meant to be replicable, as in someone else can buy a Supra, get the parts (from us ;D hah), and build their own Time Attack Supra with very similar performance. Maybe one day with a really big budget we can do an Unlimited build, but as with all things in motorsport, the higher you go, the more expensive and unobtainable it gets...
The TA90 wanted to be an NA90, glad you got that sorted for now, but it seems to be a recurring problem, didn't you have issues with that a while back too? Would it help/be reasonable to go with metal tubing and V-bands for the charge pipe? It would be a lot harder to work on, but you shouldn't have to work on it too often. I don't think that V-bands blow off all that often. Anyway, it's an idea, someone in your crew has probably thought of it, but incase they didn't mention it, here it is.
My theory is that Jackie will learn to understeer the car which allows his loose-ass setup to become neutral. All he has to do is be a little smoother getting on power but it is often faster to stay in it if the rear end does come out on exits.
I refuse to understeer the car... At a track like this, with walls on either side, the last thing you want is an understeery setup. Also driver preference
@@JackieDing86 Yes, I am not saying you should change your setup and every driver should embrace what feels good to them. I'm saying that most of the fastest drivers use an "understeery" driving style to match with an oversteery setup. The result being a car that can easily turn in more on command, but the driving style allows for the front AND the rears to have stability at the limit, giving more grip. Simply a suggestion to help with when the car gets too sideways and you are no longer utilizing the front tires.
Congrats for win. Great progress. From next year I like you want start in time attack. My 335i need a lot of work but still couple months before season start
