Oh my god that was an absolutely stunning performance thank you so much for uploading this, I count Rigoletto as being one of Verdi’s greatest operas and a masterpiece. Where can I begin than saying it has some of the most amazing singing I have had the pleasure to hear, Juan Diego Florez was so superb his beautiful high tenor voice captured the fickle devil may care character of the Duke, Diana Damrau so vocally perfect heartfelt and emotional as the crushed Gilda, and Zelijo Lucik whose large and dark baritone voice captured the pain and anguish of the downtrodden jester. The production was excellent too you really got a sense of the debauchery and cruelty of the society which ultimately kills innocence. Absolutely stunning.

It is powerful and intensely moving. All the main parts were excellently sung and the orchestral playing finely paced and an intrinsic part of the drama, especially in Act III. Thank you to Euro Arts for making this available.

Florez makes a fine tenor in Mozart and Rosinni but he's out of his depth in this and his body language shows he knows it. The orchestral playing is excellent so best enjoy that and give Florez a pass.
The costumes are fantastic.

'n Heel herkenbare Lehnhoff productie. Spectaculair mooi. Geweldige titelrolvertolker (Zeljko Lucic), Juan Diego Flórez niet helemaal de juiste stem voor deze rol. Diana Damrau: erg goed. Ook de kleinere rollen zijn zeer 'luxe' bezet. Mooi dat we dit in deze onzekere corona tijd kunnen zien en beluisteren.
Io darei 10 e lode a Rigoletto, e 8 al duca di Mantova.

I'm used to Flórez's and Damrau's excellency, but I'd never seen Lučić and I was gladly surprised; he's a superb singer and actor. Not so happy about the régie, though. Especially that thing they did during the quartetto, the Duke grabbing Gilda... wtf. I don't understand so many comments about this not being a role for Juan Diego!

El protagonista es el baritono y no se toman el cuidado de dar su nombre. Y en esto si que lo tengo claro como espectadora, para que nadie saque el tema envidia, el mejor Rigolettó de este siglo fue el unico e irremplazable Dimitri Hvorovtovsky dicho por la critica, no por esta humilde oyente que es verdad lo adora. Grande maestro Dima
