I've come to the same minimalistic approach. Now I shop way less, mostly on sales/bonuses events, and yes I own less products and spend less money, but my few lipsticks are now Chanel and my foundation is Dior. I no longer have items in my makeup bag that are not perfect in terms of shade or longevity, expired or problematic in any other way. Sometimes I wish I could get to this state of mind in my early 20s... The time I used to spend for hours of online shopping now goes to work related education. At some point I've also realized that I had my own reasons for being engaged in compulsive shopping and I forgive myself for that... Instead of being swamped with shame and guilt, I try to develop compassion and understanding for my troubled "earlier self". That made a huge difference!
I love your philosophy! I love watching elegance influencers but sometimes I just feel like they’re so wasteful. You literally do not need 3 different foundations, 5 different blushes and 10 lipsticks to look good. No only are they wasting their money (since they probably cannot finish the product before expiring, they are also influencing their viewers to over consume. It’s bad for the environment and the pockets! Your minimalist makeup collection really speaks to me, right now I stopped myself from buying anymore products before I could finish the current ones I own.😊
I look forward to these videos the most from you every year! It's how I initially found your channel and I love to be inspired by your minimal collection
Love your videos ❤ I don’t buy eyeshadow palettes anymore because I rarely use all the colors. I like the mono eyeshadows from Dior and Chanel. I have a dark tone and a mid toned matte for my crease and a slightly metallic for my lid. This way I can easily replace a shadow without having to buy a whole new palette. And if I am in the mood for a new color I can just add that single color to my collection.
I totally understand your approach. As an artist, I like the idea of having several different shades and creating dimensions. Not bold blue or pink eyeshadows, but a variety of neutral tones :) This is why I like palettes
This is inspiring me to go through my makeup bag and get rid of a few things. I’m a minimalist makeup girly too. Only one makeup bag but I think we can narrow it down even more. I love this ❤❤❤
You could get one of the Lisa Eldridge eyeshadow palettes. All of her shadows are refillable so you could ultimately make your perfect palette and replace them as you finish them, or as they expire!
i recommend Viseart Visepro neutral mattes. I bought it during black friday and I am in love. I also have a very minimalist makeup collection and it’s the only palette I use for eyeshadow. Gorgeous formula and it comes in nice packaging that is also earth friendly.
Thank you. Absolutely logical approach to make up. Influencer s don't necessarily have the best interests of their followers. Some / most promote brands for personal benefit. I find your approach so refreshing. And I will subscribe because you are so authentic. Thank you.
You’re an incredible inspiration to me. I struggle with makeup. I like it, I spend a lot of my time browsing through makeup stores, looking for things to buy. Thankfully, I don’t buy so much, but it’s really refreshing and inspiring looking on your approach to it. I very much needed that. Thank you for creating this type of content! ✨🤍
I have also realized I've never used up even a small eyeshadow palette. I want to try the Hourglass blush b/c everyone raves about it, but I really love my Tower28 cream blush. I've never liked a blush as much as this one and I've never gotten so many compliments on the colouring of my makeup. I would try to buy Hourglass but I still have half of my package left and I don't want to waste it. It's almost a spiritual exercise of using up what I have before I buy more. I still have a full Chanel blush in my bathroom, which I kind of hate. I don't know why anyone likes Chanel. Everything I've tried from them hasn't surprised me at all, but has rather disappointed me for all the hype they get. I also like the Lancome mascara. I've been using it since 2011, but this year I discovered Caliray mascara and I must say it rocks. The only thing I always get a mini b/c it's vegan so, like you, I have to be careful. Also, Mac mascara surprised me. I bought it at an airport 4 years ago. It lasted forever. I'd have repurchased it but the airport price was superb. I never found such price at a store. Please make a minimalist video on your haircare and skincare. Thank you.
Thank you, dear 🥰 I make a lot of videos about skincare here on my channel. Because I actually have a problematic and acne prone skin, so I take pride in how good it looks :D
I love your minimalist makeup collection videos!! 🥰🥰 it really helped me get rid of a ton of makeup I wasn’t using and also to stop buying makeup just because an influencer said it was good. So I only use a few cosmetic products and skincare products and I’m much happier and things makes much better sense.
This video is very timely as I’m doing more minimalist living, including with make up. Thank you! I would like to try some of these products. I have that same loose powder in the regular size and I’ve had it for about 4 years! Getting the small one next time. 😊
I came across your channel and I felt in love with it. I just subscribed. Your video makes so much sense. I need to stop buying so much makeup and waste my money.
Beautiful video !! A lovely clean beauty brand for eyeshadow is " Honest" It is nicely packaged, lasts well and the colors are natural and wearable. I have Chanel, Dior eyeshadows and mostly go to my Honest pallette. It is also thin and easy to pop in a bag for travel !
This was great. I tend to use the same products that work best for me year after year, there really is no need to experiment unless you are looking for something new. You might enjoy eyeshadow palettes by SANTE Naturkosmetik, like the Natural Rosies and Natural Nudes, or the Rosy Shades and Nudy Shades. x
Es la primera persona que habla de maquillaje caducado 🎉 eso busqué y no encontré ninguna chica que hable de ello también tiré mucho maquillaje dejando mi o sección por el hace 3 años
Maybe you can buy a small Mac cosmetics refillable eyeshadow palette and pick eyeshadows you like? Then just replace the eyeshadow pans when they’re out of date..
I’m at my smallest collection too and regret all the “clutter of youth” I wasted my time on in my 20s, 30s and 40s. I’m on the search for a mini eyeshadow palette too. As I get older my eyes have become so sensitive. I can’t wear red or brownish-red shadows as they irritate my eyes. My Dior quint in soft cashmere has that shade and I can’t touch it. I also just realized that the Dior quint has only a 6 month life! That’s ridiculous! Thank you to the other commenters for your suggestions. I used Viseart in the past when I had too much. I should try it again after I get rid of the Dior quint. Also I loved the color of Merit signature lipstick in L’avenue but it’s too drying for me. Does anyone know of a more balmy formula in a similar color? I really love K-beauty glossy lip tints or Glossier Ultralip formulas but can’t seem to find the dupe for L’avenue shade.
I need to start having a minimalistic mindset. I have too many makeup that i barely use/touched. I have at least 10 foundations that are high end, and I don't really quite understands why i need that many. I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes that i bare use, its just a waste. My goal this year 2025 is to have a minimalistic makeup collection. Stop buying and spending money on products that i dont need.
Feeling a little shameful after getting your video notification as I subcribed a couple of years ago in an effort to help dramatically reduce my spending on make up. Have made some progress but definitely not where I should be. My goal is to not necessarily have an extremely small collection (though definitely more minimal) but rather to stop purchasing make up thinking I need it and then it just sits there unused. Trying harder for 2025
No need to feel shame or guilt. Use what you already have, feel gratitude that you have all these options and just try to stay on track this year :) I will try to continue to remind you here about being a more mindful consumer through my videos
What do you do for replacements like mascara and eyeliner that will not make it for a year? I like the idea of only shopping once a year for makeup. I just want to know all of the details.
I think that you should toss that becca powder, taking into account that the company closed down 4 years ago, and you don’t like to use expired products. Love your collection
Hello, I am wondering if you tried the High Impact Mascara by Clinique and if so, how you think it compared to Lancome Hypnose. I would love to hear your thoughts.
I suggest purchasing a small Viseart palette. They run sales, often. The quality is top notch & the packaging is cute. Their palettes last 36 months, not 12 months. You can get a variety of different shades and sizes.
I like her. She uses mostly the classic products. There’s wisdom and thoughtful considerations in choosing the right products and sticking to using the same for years ignoring the newer brands that basically does the same darn thing. I have been doing the same thing and I discovered it made me more happier because the products I’m used to works best for me not unless they get discontinued.

Some have hundred pieces from every category... And still buy or get new ones. Terrible, I feel sick of it

Thank you for being here all this time :) I'm glad you like these videos!
Viseart palettes have a longer shelf life (3 years) and have some beautiful quads and small palettes. The formula is excellent.
That sounds like a very good option for me, thank you for sharing!
Maybe single eyeshadow will work better for you😊
@@AnnaK-n1u I like to have at least. couple of shades :)Same like with lipsticks

here i am keeping my eyeshadows for 5+ years 😂
I would not risk it, especially if we are talking about the health and safety of your eyes
Trust me, you don't want the problems. I got an infection using old makeup. I learned my lesson. Powder eyeshadow I toss after 2 years.
@ omg, really? So sorry that it happened, which palette was it? I heard newer palettes use different ingredients than 10 years ago
@cupcake5671 it was a chanel one!! I got a giant red bump and it lasted a week. I vowed never again!! Your skin and eyes will thank you!!
