"Ready to hit the studio and shit all on your mixtape. Nah, literally. ...SHIT ALL ON YOUR MIXTAPE." That pause right before he repeats himself is what makes those lines so goddamned hilarious.
Out of all the XXL Freshmen, Danny was the only one I had heard of. As soon as I listened to the rest of 'em, I realized why. He was the only guy that really deserved it. XXX was the shit.
This video is so good it is insane. This and Death Grips' "Guillotine" have set a whole new standard & invented a whole new aesthetic for hip hop videos. The fact that this is what the underground is kicking while Kanye & crew do their thing shows how incredible the contrast between the Majesticons and Infesticons has become.
love the line "in just two takes dog the booth'll get souffle'd" so damn much. I think aside from him cooking up the studio with high quality rhymes, he means just two takes in the studio (one take being his rhymes, the other take his wild ad-libs he has in most of his tracks), he killed the whole song and doesn't have to go back and record anything again.
its crazy going through the danny brown discog. Recently, as in the last few years, I've pretty much exclusively put on his newer stuff along with some of the more recent songs he has verses on. But then to come back and listen to his first couple albums... man, its crazy to see how much he's evolved and polished. And this isn't to compare old danny vs new danny, he pretty much has put out bangers throughout his entire career, just super interesting to go back and listen to one versus the other, really illustrates how talented this dude is and how he's committed to growing as an artist from album to album.
I don't understand how people can say Danny sounds like anyone else. He's so unique, he just sounds like himself. This video should have way more views.
I can't even begin to describe how many playlists i've made with this song on it. I think there's a term for that... oh yeah ALL OF THEM. I've easily rocked this song 1500-2000x. Doing my part to ensure it never dies. But man do I wish Danny Brown was launched to the stratosphere of fame. One of the best rap songs ever. One of the best debut albums ever.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a fan of Danny Brown, but I love what he's doing in the rap game. I wish more artists would be more creative like Danny Brown is.
i think so. been stuck into listening this stuff on repeat like every day or two for a while now. just like a morning dosage of your mum’s vitamins keeping my mind alive.
i remember once after listening to this song, me and my friend jason had an argument about who was the most intelligent rapper/producer... when jason went to bed, i shat all over his mixtape. thank you danny brown.
I use to pick on a kid saying his favorite rapper was Danny Brown....4years later he's ben my shit for 3years, listens to dirty laundry twice a day😂 that's me.lol
danny browns music intrigues me he experiments with his voice and lyrics in a way that is so enjoyable to listen to and from such a hard background its such a inspirational guy
I genuinely dislike pickup trucks. But this is clearly one of the coolest automobiles of all time in this video. Based on some basic google-fu I think it is a 6th gen F-150. It will be mine. Oh yes.
this is the best Danny Brown music video, the combination of traditional rap aesthetic and glitchy vhs and chroma key effects really matches the style of the album.
If you appreciate real hip hop you will appreciate Danny Brown. Abstract is still in effect. Give more than one listen, you will catch a different line every time. Make you pay attention type shit. This kid on, if you don't like don't listen to it.
A decade has passed and I still can't eat cool ranch doritos without thinking of this song lol
still one of the nastiest lines ive ever heard lol

Still my favorite Danny Brown quote
"Ready to hit the studio and shit all on your mixtape.
Nah, literally.
...SHIT ALL ON YOUR MIXTAPE."
That pause right before he repeats himself is what makes those lines so goddamned hilarious.
@MelatO Nerd thank you.
I consider this Danny Browns best song. The beat, flow and and his obnoxious vocals work so incredibly well here
100%
You gotta dig more dude. Have you heard The Hybrid album?
this beat just accents danny so well, so hype
"WHEN IT RAIN WHEN IT POUR GET YA ASS ON THE FLOOR" you gotta listen to atrocity exhibition if you think this is his best work

Hernan Cortes your lame lol flatbush is cool but even they know danny an og compared to em
I'm 38 now. I grew up with all manner of music. Danny Brown is the GOAT rapper alive today.

And it’s like u almost think the song is over and he puts a fire last verse in there
I like how Danny's voice changes from the beginning of xxx to the end. THE HYBRID.
Wow, I forgot how great Danny is... his songs were so hard when I was a teenager getting into trouble. They're still hard 10 years later.
Well, i'm done with cool ranch doritos...
thePhantomWizard he actually really likes cool ranch Doritos, he only said it because "people say it smells bad"

This will always be one of my favorite rap tracks of all time.
I rep Danny hard as hell. He's super raw and def underrated. But that's his thing he's not jumping on no mainstream. His style is eclectic.
danny absolutely kills it on this track, i always get pumped at the beginning when he starts to flow
I do wear crocs to the Walmart Danny but you still my hero nonetheless

I just found out about him today. And i agree on the vibes it gives.
Danny was so ahead of his time… the world is almost ready
He reminds me of ODB
ODB can't rap like he can
Danny brown is better than alot of rappers today lyrically

wombatwarrior87 "this is his best song" doesnt come across as an opinion. "this is my favourite danny brown song" would have been better
