Interesting observation that KC is slowly churning the roster and not paying their top FAs outside of Mahomes, Jones, and Kelce. It reminds me of what the Patriots did around Brady, Moss, Revis, Gronk, etc. It was dubbed, "The Patriot Way," but I think it is just the luxury of having the HOF talent and the job security to play the long game with a current contender instead of being in win now mode. It changes the lifecycle of the franchise.
It is a rare thing for a team to achieve, but when a team gets there and has the discipline to stay patient, success breeds success.

My takeaway from this trade and Brian burns trade is I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a pretty long time until a team trades a first round pick for a player. A lot of trades involving first round compensation lately has ended up benefiting the team that receives the picks way more. And two in particular have sunk the team that acquired a player.

I think they are saving money for Creed’s extension next year & for a OT and maybe Dana. Kool aid may just fall to them at 32 overall, but see Brownlee Jr CB L’Ville or T Jackson Oregon as early Day 3 CB picks they may make. As bills fan happy no gave them a mid teens R1 pick for Snead in ‘24 draft as I was nervous Chiefs would draft Brock to replace Kelce & have a lethal two TE formation for the ‘24 season.

No way man, I love the J’s and suit combo. McDermott looked great

It's not the combo... it's the black and white shoes with blue pants and jacket

He’s 27, knee and concussion issues, wanted 20M+. All those things drive down the compensation. He was never going to bring a 1st or 2nd round pick!

Knee issues but has missed four games in four years, something tells me the issues aren’t as bad as y’all want them to be

BTW basic economics principles dictate that scarcity results in high price. On planet earth there are a lot fewer 6' 7" guys who weigh 330 with elite athleticism than 6' tall guys who run fast. That's why O-linemen are getting paid but cornerbacks aren't

Told you the Chiefs would keep Chris Jones and let Sneed walk. Here's another potentially embarassing prediction: the Eagles won't trade Hassan Reddick

I definitely see that as a possibility the problem is I don’t think you can realistically field Reddick Huff and Nolan Smith on the same roster. They’re all great at that role but none of them should be playing 100% of the snaps and you can take one out to put in a bigger guy but you can’t take all three out and put your fifth best edge in the game. Josh Sweat is even a lighter edge too.

Roger McCreary is 100% the slot. No Question to anyone paying attention to the team. Farley, as sad as it is... you can't count on him. He's been through a lot, but he's a bust.
