I was there when doorway pages were named doorway pages. These are not doorway pages. This is basic local webpage optimization. Furthermore it was Yahoo back in the 90s who stated doorway pages wouldn't be indexed, until State Farm launched their website, with a doorway page.
I managed to build a collection of elementor templates with a custom field which I feed the location into, and then dynamically placed inside the templates content
How do you get multiple service pages to load with basically the same content on each page without getting hit for duplicate and being penalized? So you have the code telling it to load containers of info that it can index without duplicate? I've learned you can do whatever works with Google until it doesn't. Google Gemini AI says this is not the best way to do it. But if it works, it works. Just seems like it shouldn't work according to them. Dynamically loading city name seems better but that's advanced coding.

One question I have, you mentioned that we do not need to create a GMB listin for other locations, then how does Google know that we are located in that area? Nope it’s actually fine. I’ve built out custom post types for each service and each page is a location. Works well and easy for us to manage through content templates.

We don’t create a sitemap per page, put global sitemap xml file auto updates and feeds into Google search console. We simply create a service page with the location modifier (eg web design London) and then make sure the page is internally linked to somewhere on the website so Google can crawl and find it.
If GMB needs a physical location - but you’re not there - could you use a generic location in those cities so you have a GMB page as well for all of these locations? Like a post office address? I wonder…
Dont overdo it or youll get a penalty. When enough reports stack up on your sitemap its over and your domain will be tarnished. There are workarounds but require effort.
Are your ranks still good? I've seen a competitor do this, basically cloning hundreds of pages and it's number 1 without any GMB. But how long they will last, time will tell.

you need unique content for each area, stupid i know, but its what google requires - if you don't then your website is built on very poor foundations and its only a matter of time before you're penalised for duplicate content, i've learned this the hard way!
Careful posting this. I've nuked my competitor that did this for almost every city in Belgium by spamreporting his pages on multiple smurfs. His traffic drowned from 170K to 6K. It is still against Tos / Policy for keyword stuffing/spam.

This is a bad idea and it's against Google guidelines. It's called "Doorway pages".

Well yea thats one thing, but whats bugging me, lets say u want client from europe, you need to write in french for france, same for spain, norway ..
For different languages, need different sub directories, subdomains

No, Google doesn’t allow that. So my understanding is, it’s not possible with GMB
Google will send a letter including a PIN that you'll need for GMB.
So, unless you're best friends with the staff, this won't work.

Yeah they’re still there, but you are correct, I’m also curious to see how long it lasts

Get your highest traffic pages to be referenced more to on your lower traffic city pages. Inner linking hierarchy matters.
