I resisted doing things on paper because I hated the idea of having to re-type the information into my digital notebook. Like some others have mentioned before, I thought I was wasting time. However, writing things down in my notebook helps me think. Something about circling things, drawing arrows, etc help me organise my thoughts. Honestly, writing on your iPad or tablet is not the same as writing on paper, no matter what people tell you. So, I guess that famous quote from Abraham Lincoln ~ "Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first hour sharpening the axe." Writing things down is equivalent to "spending that first hour sharpening the axe".
So GREAT!! I also have two or more places to write out todos and plans, and always thought I was crazy! This helped me solidify that I need to dive deeper and have a Goal spot, 12 week task spot, monthly, weekly daily - I always thought that would be too much detail for planning, BUT - it is not!!! Thanks for the support on this.
Yes! I posted a video recently about a similar viewpoint with a slightly different perspective. Not so much ‘writing twice’ but, as I see it, the difference between CREATING a plan v FOLLOWING a plan. It uses different parts of our brains. When I worked this out it for myself (lots of trial and error lol😅) it completely changed my planning life. I suppose writing twice is how studying becomes effective too. Definitely a great idea and I also use digital alongside my analogue system. Tfs 😊
Congrats on the promo and fab nail colour! I spent ages trying to come up with a system with info in one place only to avoid double updating. Like you I've come to realise that I get different things from the paper and IT systems and that is useful. As you say, it is good updating habits and closing loops that are key. Once I got that in hand, things are mostly working for me. Did find it useful to make notes of what info is where and which acts as the master copy of any item.
THIS is the video I’ve been needing to 1) feel better about using digital and paper AND 2) a good way to use both without feeling overwhelmed. It was like a 💡moment when you said it is the open loops that make us feel scattered. So right. 🤦🏽♀️ But anyway. Thank you this video helped me a lot!! 😁
I love this! I’ve been doing this but thought that I was crazy and doing too much. Thank you for making this video because to me, it’s reassuring. Doing this method really helps a lot. Especially the writing it out part first.
Do you have some planning tips for people who are working as teacher? Like plans per week, a complete schoolyear, smaller and even bigger time sections... Or do you know any channelthat talks about stuff like that? Have a nice weekend!

I love the "plan twice, do once" like the "measure twice, cut once" saying in construction. Some great insights in this video.

46 seconds in and I am just floored by your nails!!! That color is amazing!
... now I shall just watch the rest of the video! 😅
Exactly the way I do it, except I use Notion instead. I need paper to think, but a digital planner to plan ahead for business and personal reasons.
Notion is fantastic

I do all of these things. I'd thought it was a waste of time writing things twice, but it really helps me process things. Great video!

I really like the notebook you are using. Can you share brand of notebook and the leather cover. Thanks
Looking forward to the response about the notebook!😊
I think it's the Sterling Ink Common Planner.
I would love to know more about your two column daily spread, with notes on the right side of the page.
I'm learning translation is a powerful tool and that there are lots of different types of translation. Like cross disciplinary retention
Congrats on your promo!!! I loved this video. I do something very similar and will be refining with things I just learned in this video. Thank you!!!

"cringe is the price you pay for greatness" lol
What paper planner are you using?
What markers do you use?
Loved your earlier videos. More recent ones are too long-winded; wish you would get to the point quicker. I am skipping most of the videos now.
