I was thinking the same thing.
My grandma lost her only 2 sons about a year apart.
It took a while, but she eventually learned to live without them. They were both murdered.

@@dorclo1229 Oh my gosh that is awful I'm so sorry. Your poor grandparents! How does that much violence and tragedy befall to one family? It's unthinkable to have to endure that kind of thing once, but twice? Unbelievable...and odds must be crazy low. It is this sort of thing that makes me question my faith I'm not going to lie. Why God would allow a mother to suffer so much? 😔

My grandma lost two of three of her kids, my aunt and uncle. My mom has never been the same losing her siblings. In the worst of twists my aunt and my dad were murdered the same day in separate incidents June 19 1994 fathers day. My dad hit in the head during a mugging, my aunt shot in the head because her son owed his drug dealer a hundred bucks. Then my uncle died of an over dose in May 2000. And nobody was ever caught for either of my dad or my aunts murders. Barely made a blip in the Chicago papers, if at all.

I’ve seen both of you on differently podcasts however never connected you two as husband and wife, very nice.
What I’d like to say is that I find your podcasts easy to listen to not only because of the content and your passion for your stories, but because of the way you interact with one another.
Other podcasts that are done by husband and wife teams tend to be annoying at times because too much time is spent on their cutesy marriage or personal lives.
Honestly, I’m not criticizing or trying to be rude or judgmental ! I think husband/ wife teams are very good and can contribute to their podcasts.
I just “personally” enjoy your interest and “to the point” of solving or explaining the topics you’re discussing.
I honestly enjoy that you two get right into your Topics and stick to JUST the stories you’re telling your audience.
Thank you for your hard work in investigating these sad stories and hopefully finding some closure for the victims and their families, if I’m fast there’s such a thing as “closure” which I don’t believe there really is .
Keep up the great work. Stay safe and healthy in these uncertain times! 👍🙏👏💪😎

I appreciate the reason why you and other channels are censored when using the word "rape", but it really demeans and lessens it's impact. Which is something we need to bring attention to, not keep it from being spoken. But, as I said, I understand the reason, but this too, censorship, it something as an old person that it not something I agree with. But that's just this old lady.

    • @theluvutake

I was curious about this, too. Enough so that it brought me to do some research. Research says that in the U.S. one in six women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. I believe that number is optimistically conservative. An individual healing from the miserable experience that is rape should be able to use the word without censorship.
