    One of the greatest string quartets ever. Absolutely overwhelming, heartbreaking.

    So hard to listen to with all the ads, but this might be the definitive performance of Op. 80. The playing is so virtuosic -- the presto at the end of the first movement sounds like it's about to go off the rails (but of course it doesn't). It's really a violin concerto for Vineta and she's a great violinist.

    This is really a brilliant performance. Passion with "modesty" if I can say so (the word in french would be "pudeur", I hope what I mean is clear enough). May I ask what is the beautifull picture-board during the first mouvement ?

    who is the author of the painting ? it represents a Vulcanic lake whose precipitous slope seem to me very likely to be that of Nemi's Lake as seen from Fontana Tempesta and the village on the right rim of it is very likely Genzano with the imposing white bulk ofa Palazzo Cesarini Sforza in evidence

    Sono interpretazioni che condivido poco sebbene questa sia tra le migliori. Il tempo di esecuzione andrebbe rallentato poiché, soprattutto nello sviluppo del primo movimento l'accavallarsi dei suoni diviene insostenibile. Il violoncello fa la parte espressivamente più difficile in questo quartetto suonando sul grave molto spesso. Se il tempo non è giusto fa più rumore che suono. Ci vorrebbe più sensibilità all'ascolto. È un'opera sì disperata e furente ma non andrebbe mai perso l'equilibrio né tantomeno la bellezza del suono
