I had a chance to jog around in the Novablast 5’s about a week ago and really liked them. I preferred the 3’s over the 4’s and I really like what they’ve done with the new model coming out
Back in the day I started using just a generic Superfeet high-arch insole instead of the insole that comes with my shoes and I found that it made all my shoes more comfortable and also made them last so much longer. Might be something to consider trying. Saucony Getgo's were the best shoe ever though.
I’ve worn the asic metaspeed sky Paris In most of my cross country races 😂 surprisingly they felt great and have held up well. Just ran a Turkey trot 2 days ago and won in a 16:09 beating my 5k pr by 1:01 second 😁👍
We have similar taste in shoes. The Novablasts and Triumphs are my favorite daily trainers (I have a couple pairs with 700 miles, which is the most I've ever put on shoes). Also the Alphafly 1 (also purchased for $110) with >100 miles is still my go-to racing shoe. My wife thought I was crazy when I bought 3 pairs, but I still have one with only one half marathon on them.
I have a similar problem, and I also have many of the same shoes. I love the Novablast and Glycerin shoes as my daily trainers. I use the Saucony endorphin speed 3’s as my workout and speed shoe. My race day shoe is the Nike Vaporfly.
In the last four weeks I have bought Adidas Pro 3, a third pair of Vaporfly, Brook Glycerin Max and a pair of Nike Ultrafly. I didn’t need any of these really…… I hit 1,000 miles on the Triumphs this year and it still feels like there is a little bit of life in them still.
Brother you would have a crazy epiphany if you tried the Asics Superblast and maybe even both Adidas Prime X Strung and Prime x Strung 2, All 3 are very unique cool shoes.
I just hit 50 miles in the Novablast 4 after doing like 2k miles between 4 pairs of Novablast 3....I think I still prefer the 3. The 4's feel less bouncy but maybe a touch more stable
Nope. True of the original Vaporfly perhaps. Most carbon plated racers are very durable now. Many people put a few races in them and then use them for training.
Doesn't matter how many shoes you own at once if you use them all well. What wonder-shoe do you recommend that can do everything from recovery runs to race day?

so excited for your marathon! you are strong you got this!
Was looking forward to this ever since you responded to my last comment! This was super informative, so thank you! Best of luck this weekend at CIM!
Shoes on the couch. Brother no. What is you doing.
When he addressed the question of how can afford them I thought he was gonna say
“ I have nearly 20…..thousand in credit card debt”😂😂
Amazing how consistent that wear spot is near the toes across all your shoes

Let's go Michael!
Would love a video how you balance career and running. As a fellow engineer, it’s hard to hit 90+ mileage with full time work and rest day.
I really like the Tarahumara Huarache for my marathons personally. Tons of foam and carbon fiber and super stuff.
never too many!

I have the same problem but I’m way slower than you! But when compared to other addictions we could have, this one is pretty benign, if not positive.
I don’t feel so bad about my 3 now, thanks bud 😂

I agree with all the regular trainers
Of the super comp v1
I really didn’t like that shoe until it had about 300 miles on it
shoes on the couch is crazy work fam aha
great video! just wanted to ask, r u planing on trying any ON shoes???
Watching a video about his addiction to help support his addiction😂
Adistar ❤
Thanks, I couldn’t remember in the moment at all lol
Will you be doing a meet up at CIM or a pre-meet with your fans?
What are you doing with retired shoes? throwing to the bin? I have problem with that myself :D
oui, valeur affective si je les ai appréciées
No, I drop them in a “shoes for Africa” bin, or donate them to a thrift store usually. I keep a few for hiking and outdoorsy stuff
what running shoes should I get for everyday running shoes (easy runs, long runs, etc...)
My favorite every day shoe is the ASICS Novablast lineup!
Green flashes at 0:15, 0:32, 0:56
My computer has been struggling to videos properly lately
@@mottesen_runs You're all good! Just figured I'd make sure you were aware of it.
All you need are some Luna Sandals.
Dude! Dirty shoes on the couch😂
dang so we're buying your shoes? youre welcome
What spikes do you have or have used, and why do you like them?

@@mottesen_runs Thanks so much! Love the content!!
Currently I own 50 pairs, 39 in rotation.
no Superblast 2!? 😮
They were out of stock when I tried to buy them 🤷♂️ might go back for them though
Don't feel bad. I have over 70 pairs.😐
no superblasts?
Couldn’t get ahold of them when I tried
@@mottesen_runs I got them on pre order lmao
What about your track spikes?
Haha yup, forgot about those 😬
I have 3 pair: ASICS Metaspeed LD, Nike Dragonfly, and Adidas Avanti TYO
I thought super shoes only lasted around 100 miles?
Nope. True of the original Vaporfly perhaps. Most carbon plated racers are very durable now. Many people put a few races in them and then use them for training.
What size are you .. ? 😂
I can’t believe your wife lets you keep your old shoes.
She hates it lol. I’m trying to downsize - I used to have around 30 😂
My favorites are the Hoka Clifton for long runs and the Hoka Mach 6 for workouts.
No shoes on the couch please!
No on clouds?
Trash shoe
Watched 2 mins and remembered how much cooler it was to see Clayton Young use 1 pair of shoes during his Paris Olympic build. Less is more.
Doesn't matter how many shoes you own at once if you use them all well. What wonder-shoe do you recommend that can do everything from recovery runs to race day?
yea cause is contract mandates that. that was an awesome series of course but you do realize it was a giant shoe ad too, right?
