This scene completely blew me away.....TGs acting in this scene w Genie was so moving.....there really are no words to even describe it....I wonder if because GF was getting ready to have her own child that , besides L&L, it was a very special, ,personal moment between TG and GF.... I also thought in the scene that Laura was being so sweet and nurturing w Luke, by touching his face like she has always done thru the yrs and telling Luke its going to be okay, its like Luke was just filled w awe, wonderment and many other layers of emotions too numerous to list...and Laura was being really there for him, while feeling and sharing it all w him....The party scene IMHO was beautiful as well...when Luke was focusing on Lucky and his cousins,,,,in my heart I really believe that Luke was having an epiphany, almost like this was something he was always afraid of having because he never thought that he would have it[ especially w his Dream Girl.,that HAS ALWAYS been Laura] and I think maybe Luke was overwhelmed w many, many emoitions...When Luke goes outside and is looking up at the sky, its like hes sooo grateful and just cant believe this is all his. When Laura goes outside to check on Luke...he is still so in awe and says ""It's a girl"," again.... Obviously, I cant even fully express how much this scene touched and moved me so very, very much. This is one [ this one is really up there], of the million reasons that I love Laura and Luke sooo much.......Oh, not too mention Genie Francis and Tony Geary and their amazing and incomparable portrayals and paramount abilities that bring us such boundless joy..
Wow! I never saw this before...and in '93 ( I guess around the time this originally aired) my husband and I watched the sonogram of OUR first daughter (and first child)... and then in '94, on April Fools day, I went into labor, and after 30+ hours of horrible pain (natural childbirth...WHAT was I thinking?) our surprise SON was born! I had no idea of the timing of GF and Laura's story compared with my own! (And didn't GF end up having a boy, as well, in real life?😊)I cried as I watched that tender moment with L&L kneeling in front of the TV... but mostly because the tears in TG's eyes looked so genuine, like he was in awe (for real!) of the miracle happening to GF, and her reaction to him was so sweet. You can't help but feel the special bond between these two timeless characters, and their real life friendship, and I'm remembering all over again the magic that happens when you bring a precious life into this world!❤️️ This was beautifully portrayed!
I love this episode! As several have already said so eloquently, Luke has verbalized before, that he never thought he would have this wonderful gift of family with anyone. Certainly not Laura! I too, love how they see this female Spencer “still so many months away,” as real and name her body parts and Luke is instantly in love with the beautiful daughter he will soon hold in his arms. I hate the revisionist history that tries to sell REAL FANS on the idea that Luke never wanted to be a father. He loves his children! They are part of his Angel, Laura long after she is incapacitated. He loved her through them and his eyes are sad now and have been for many years. The light of his life is gone. TG plays this lost Luke so very well. I am just a sucker for a happy ending. One I fear in 2022 is never going to happen. ❤️❤️❤️
For a man like Luke, these emotions are too much for him to handle. He had never experienced a Real Home, Real Family & Real Love. He didn't believe that life could ever be this Happy, truly Happy. "It's Bigger than him". This is the way my son has rationalized it with his father. As a child (Luke) growing up in such dysfunction and then finding true love and happiness is not what Luke "feels" he deserves. They end up pushing away the people they most love and what is good in their life because they don't feel they deserve it. Hense, what L & L became. 😢😢 GH followed basic psychology with these two. 😢 I agree with Mary Beckett in the comments. Luke & Laura are the Best, most Loved couple to grace TV. 💕 jmo Their acting is phenomenal.
Oh that background music that always accompanies these tender scenes of being safe at home, and sharing the love of family elevates the emotional impact ..gets me every time.😭
I think this video is so poignant, and gives us answers into the depths of the character of Luke Spencer. We're looking at a guy whose only source of family was an abusive Father, a passive Mother who allowed the abuse to go on, a Madam for an Aunt, and a sister who became a hooker, leaving Luke to find his own moral compass. He wanted what Scott Baldwin had, but had no means to provide it. He damages the girl of his dreams, but somehow (sometimes through contemptible methods) wins her, loses her, and has to kill a man (Stavros) to get her back. He finally believes his life is at peace, and then old adversaries (Frank Smith) come back to take over his life. He almost loses the girl, and his son, and now he suddenly has peace again. We see him alone in the light looking at what could be an alternate reality for him; something he never thought possible. The fear of what comes next is pulling at him. We get this all masterfully played by Tony Geary. Then we have Genie Francis, who brings us home with Laura. She is the rock; the foundation; the balance. This is only the Luke Spencer side of the equation. The Laura Spencer side is another equally nuanced character that would require another long-winded explanation! But, this video really gives us a full circle reflection on the character of Luke Spencer.
@@tashalee4294 That's what happens when you have a B.A. in English and also happen to be one of the biggest Luke and Laura fans - LOL! I love to get deep into character, not just my own points of view, but other people's. I love a good character, plot and writing discussions. And, I will never get over the split of Luke and Laura. :) Thanks for your comment.
Newyorkergirl 1986 Yes it was, I got lucky in 94 because I had a VHS tape of my sonogram. 😊 A nurse told me to drink a cup of coffee an hour before my sonogram so the baby would be awake and moving so I could find out the sex. Bam, the coffee did it, he was awake and moving around and he kindly opened his legs for the film, and I had my Boy. 💙
YAY BABY GIRL SPENCER! :) Luke is so happy to hear he is having a baby girl! While they were watching the sonogram I was crying. I still am! Luke gets close to the TV. He touches the screen. He has tears! What did Luke say at 3:13? She is 7 months away?
Luke struggles with the idea of finally settling down in these scenes. It's also sad that BJ dies immediately after this in a bus accident. But later on Tony's deathbed, he see's BJ and is so happy. I'll always remember that.
HOW COULD THEY LATER SAY LUKE DIDN'T WANT KIDS,, THE WRITER'S WERE STUPID TO RUIN LUKE LIKE THEY DID,, ,,,, SO NOW I DON"T WATCH LUKE"S BAD CRAP,, AND I HATE HIM WITH TRACY,, OR ANY OTHER WOMEN,, I SURE DO MISS TG,,, & GF TOGETHER,,,, & I DONT CARE FOR KEVIN AND LAURA TOGETHER ONE BIT ETHER,,, THE WRITER,S WILL NEVER MAKE GH AS FANTASTIC AS IT ONCE WAS,,, THEY REALY DON'T HAVE FEELING'S ,, ITS MOSTLY ALL FAKE CRAP,,
WHEN THE LIGHT TURN'S BLUE AND LUKE IS BY THE DOOR ALONE,,, I HAVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY THE WRITER'S DID THAT, BECAUSE, {{{ LUKE IS ALWAYS THE LIFE OF THE PARTY }}}, IT HAS ALWAY'S MADE ME CRY FOR LUKE TG,,, FOR THEM TO HAVE PUT HIM ON THE OUTSIDE LIKE THAT,,, SO VERY WRONG,
Nunovurbznzsodontask Your response is not basic psychology, 101. I don't think you understand with his childhood what it does to a person and how they feel All their life.
@jlomax Well just the other day he was with Lucky, Lulu, and Robert's son Ethan and he said and I quote I love you all. :) Right before he left town. :)
Another sad thing is that Anthony Geary loves kids, and I personally, think that he would have loved to have had children of his own!!! But it was a different attitude then.
YES EVERYTHING KARLA MAZZOLA SAID AND MUCH MORE, EVERY TIME I SEE THIS, I CRY,, IT,S SO BEAUTIFUL, THE ONLY THING TO EQUAL IT TODAY 11,1,17 IS CARLY & JASON & SONNY,, IN THE FEELINGS DEPT,,,

Tell me again that this man doesn't love his wife and children! The writers REALLY screwed up!!!!!!
The way TG can express Luke's emotions without speaking is brilliant. This scene reminds me how Luke was feeling after he had proposed to Laura!
From high adventure to high emotion, this is spectacular. I cried during most of this clip.

His face just lights up when he see's her. I just remember alot of stuff after this :(
O MY LORD THE LOOK ON LUKES FACE WHEN HE SEE,S THE SONAGRAM OF THE BABY YOU WOULD THINK IT WAS REALY HIS REAL BABY,,
Getting a tape of your sonogram was "cutting edge technology back then!!
My older daughter was born in 1991 I didn't get a tape!!

Luke: Who's life is this anyway?
It's yours Luke! :) It's yours. :) Oh damn I'm still in tears!
Man, I so miss this Luke. Today's Luke is so negative, he's always so sad.
That is because Luke don’t have his Laura in his life anymore. No Laura = No happiness for Luke.love Rosie
They should have never broken them up
YAY BABY GIRL SPENCER! :) Luke is so happy to hear he is having a baby girl! While they were watching the sonogram I was crying. I still am! Luke gets close to the TV. He touches the screen. He has tears! What did Luke say at 3:13? She is 7 months away?
@sonyab1974 "This is so strange, seeing her, feeling her, when she is so many months away".
Luke is really banged up from the Frank Smith adventure
Leave it to Luke and Laura to show that yes it is indeed a baby, it is indeed a human being. Not a fetus. Luke and Laura Forever!

Love the, "What a relief, I thought I had some serious competition in the house!" from Luke. I think he said, "So many months away" not seven.
I cried almost the entire video.
LOVE 💗
This video is so touching. I am traveling back in time to my own pregnancy & family.
