Man, what I wouldn't give for this to be a real game. And what a great trailer. The radio music switching from American music to Chinese music as the setting is slowly revealed to be China instead of America is awesome.
Technicaly could work because us troops invaded mainland china so there would be us power armour and weapons in the game and best location would be Hong Kong for this game or mod.
China becomes the 3 kingdoms era mixed with the warlord period, with numerous factions of desperate people attempting to rebuild however they can. Routes could include the rebuilding of the monarchy and restoring the imperial court to power, restoring communist rule in some fashion, tearing it all down, placing religious fanatics in charge, or placing your preferred flavour of warlord in charge. It honestly could be interesting to see what kinds of critters, likely referred to as yaoguai or demons by the populous, while ghouls might get called something in the vein of Jian shi. With less power armour(I say less and not non because I do think China would be likely holding onto some American suits of power armour to run tests and maybe even replicate or expand upon it), most factions instead might employ conventional armour or the Chinese black dragon armour for their elite forces.

Nice vid! It really captured what a Fallout game set in China could be like. I especially loved the transition from the standard Fallout 1950's Americana song to the Chinese song on the radio.
Fallout: the new people of the wasteland have embrace the low radiation (like eating bugs with other mutated creature) and can live on a wasteland(but there still some who shut in a vault or underground tunnel) Fallout london: can still live outside of the wasteland but the water are dangerous (with the sewage creature are the main predator) Fallout red: The land still fill with radiation and radiated creature maybe way more violence (the possibly civilization can be found are in underground) and the people who want to explore the wasteland have to be either ghoul or having a heavy radiation resistant gears (and chinese powe armor are not spread around region unlike fallout [maybe still stay on a remnant of Red army hand]) and the world is on war with alot of faction
An important detail to remember is that there would have been a lot of American soldiers stranded in China once the nukes started flying. I could see one of the factions being made up of the descendants of the American soldiers stationed there.
possibly in their hundreds of thousands along the coasts, special forces in Mongolia. Since there were different routes of invasion (Shanghai-Nanjing, Beijing-Tianjin) they could be two different factions themselves. The Yangtze Campaign Faction mostly USMC units forming like the elite shock troops of the faction like the BoS Knights, since it was there since 2074 and would be much battle-hardened, possibly fighting Chinese Stealth troops holding them back from breaking out deeper. I would assume the Beijing-Tianjin invasion would come just after January 2077 when Alaska was finally liberated and is probably composed of war-weary U.S Army conscripts since it was intended to be the final decapitation strike to take out the Communist Party leadership losing its initial momentum as it encountered a small but fanatical number of Chinese power armor troops defending the capital (outfitted with captured U.S Fusion cell since it was assumed China never had the capacity to manufacture them).
Song names: 0:35 《夜上海》 “Shanghai Nights", a 1946 jazz-inspired song by singer Zhou Xuan. 0:50 《中国人民志愿军战歌》 "Battle Song of China People's Volunteer Army", the marching song of Chinese troops during the Korean War. 2:02 《东方红》 "East is Red", a song dedicated to Mao. But this particular bell jingle is the one in use by the bell tower of Shanghai Customs House located at No. 13 on the Bund.
This is brilliant! Professional-level quality stuff, expanding on the material we've been given to create something new. If this ever did get made into an actual mod, i would personally love it if all the voice acting was Chinese with English subtitles
While Fallout is set specifically in America. The London and Sonora mods changed my mind. And honestly a Fallout game set in China has alot of potential if done right (without Bethesda of course) From the locations, to the factions (there's quite alot of flavors that can be inspired by 1920s warlords, also I'd recommend Rise Of The White Sun for that), to the weapons (there's quite a variety like the Type 81 AK, Type 86 bullpup AK, Type 85 SMG, Type 77 pistol, Shanxi Type 17 carbine/pistol, QBZ-95 bullpup rifle, QJY-88 LMG, QBU-88, QJZ-89 HMG, QTS-11, FHJ-84 icendiary double barreled rocket launcher, etc.) And of course copies of chinese power armor (varying from direct copies to original designs)
Changed your mind about what exactly? A FO game set in another country could of course be highly interesting, because we've seen lots of what happened in the US both visually and thru other media, but this would be great as the rest of the world is really a giant question mark.
I read in fallout the US marine corps was deployed in China when the bombs fell, it would be cool to see a faction of descendants still trying to keep fighting
If a Fallout in Communist China looks this cool, imagine a Fallout in the Soviet Union, because in the Fallout universe the USSR itself never dissolved.
@@agentjohnson3973 why? The USSR were in a decline and that it. China at least was the premier communist superpower, have the tech that rival the US and even exceeded them. (stealth tech) We know that the US invaded mainland China and took multiples important cities (Shanghai, etc) and invaded through the sea and Gobi Desert.
Fewer possibilities for a Fallout USSR since everyone can agree the have Ukraine become independent from Soviet Russia path is the only path worth taking
I'd assume the major factions would be Communists: Hardliners that control the fallout shelters and pre-war tech Imperials: Revival of the ancient traditions, but with a ghoul emperor maybe American Remnant: Descendents of US soliders fighting in China, half American and half Chinese
An Fallout mod or game set in China would be awesome. We never got to explore much with other counties out of mods like Fallout London or the Board game. As we know from the Fallout Bible, China was nuked aswell, hitting the mainland the hardest and the President of China basically disappeared. It would be great to see a story set up in post-war China to show more of the events there, because we know basically everything about life in Pre war US but nothing about life in Asia or Europe except for whats talked about in the Boardgame and Fallout Bible, with the resource war in Europe against England and Iran, Iran nuking Israel and the liquidation of the European Union.
I’ve been saying for years to Bethesda, make a dlc based in China. China cultures is very rich and unique, but Bethesda being Bethesda they never touched anything outside the US. This trailer looks even better than stuff Bethesda has set out. This’ll be a day 1 download for me when it’s finished. Bravo!
Part of the reason is that they’d never be able to sell the game in China if they set a game in China. It’s not like Fallout has ever had glowing praise for communism.
Can you imagine how interesting and fresh this would be? A totally different world. New lore, new creatures. New environments. I would love this so much.
@@jefforymitchell5697 now that will be an interesting game if it was set in Japan after the war since Japan usually isn't given much more lore of what happened to them
I secretly hope for a complete worldmap for FO. It's utopia but it would also be so super awesome. In fact there already is one entirely fan-made FO game, "FallOut: London." And now this, albeit only a trailer for a what-if game. But still. Maybe not too utopia after all, and in the fullness of time? It seems obvious that there should be a least one official release in the franchise covering the chinese side, since that was the main adversary in the previous entries. But it should keep to spirit of portraying authorities on different levels from government over corporate management to patriachy in a family setting as cynical, corrupt and full of nefarious intend.
Fallout Australia would probably just be Mad Max. Funnily enough, I think Australia probably wouldn't get bombed too much. Population isn't very large and is pretty spread out (a bit of an Australian joke is that if you're going to nuke us aim for Canberra since we put all the politicians in one place). That being said, the could go the route of having more of an _On the Beach_ style event happens where Australia is spared the bombs, but fallout from the Northern Hemisphere is slowly blown southwards.
Wow, slogan "We need to librate Amercia" and the old chinese song "Night in Shanghai" - hope I dont got in translate it wrong. But the building is not too Chinese style. Also, need to more chinese weapon and dressing style.
I need an actual mod for this now. The potential in China is crazy, since it's totally possible that they managed to save larger swathes of their population since their were actual real life plans of city-sized fallout shelters.

@@amadeusbintang6914 tbh i feel like personally the fandom is just abandoing bethesda's garbage stories and lore with them butchering fallout and have just been doing our own thing an make our own lore that is more lore accurate and real compared to bethesda's slop that we see today cough cough the tv show cough cough and 76

I honestly thank you for the use of disclaimer at the begginning!
Finally someone noticed!
I nearly missed it, but then noticed "Use of Communism" and paused to read. This is a very good detail!
Nice vid! It really captured what a Fallout game set in China could be like. I especially loved the transition from the standard Fallout 1950's Americana song to the Chinese song on the radio.

That's Admiral Zhao now
He would, but he never left Boston...
@@uzivatel56 It depends, a Fallout China mod could make his interaction with the sole survivor canon
would be cool to have Captain Zao as protagonist for such a mod
Fallout Modders: Fine.. i'll do it myself.
Fallout: the new people of the wasteland have embrace the low radiation (like eating bugs with other mutated creature) and can live on a wasteland(but there still some who shut in a vault or underground tunnel)
Fallout london: can still live outside of the wasteland but the water are dangerous (with the sewage creature are the main predator)
Fallout red: The land still fill with radiation and radiated creature maybe way more violence (the possibly civilization can be found are in underground) and the people who want to explore the wasteland have to be either ghoul or having a heavy radiation resistant gears (and chinese powe armor are not spread around region unlike fallout [maybe still stay on a remnant of Red army hand]) and the world is on war with alot of faction
An important detail to remember is that there would have been a lot of American soldiers stranded in China once the nukes started flying. I could see one of the factions being made up of the descendants of the American soldiers stationed there.
Basically the shi, but inverse XDD

possibly in their hundreds of thousands along the coasts, special forces in Mongolia.
If Bethesda made it, they would somehow become the Pacific BoS, lol.
And somehow become a brotherhood of steel. If Bethesda made it. 🤣
Song names:
0:35 《夜上海》 “Shanghai Nights", a 1946 jazz-inspired song by singer Zhou Xuan.
Thanks man
This is brilliant! Professional-level quality stuff, expanding on the material we've been given to create something new. If this ever did get made into an actual mod, i would personally love it if all the voice acting was Chinese with English subtitles
That’s such an awesome shift to contrast the idealized toughness of the power armor with the unseen presence of the invisibility suit
As a Fallout enthusiast, this trailer is stellar. Imagine having these types of trailers in every country in the world!
While Fallout is set specifically in America. The London and Sonora mods changed my mind. And honestly a Fallout game set in China has alot of potential if done right (without Bethesda of course)
From the locations, to the factions (there's quite alot of flavors that can be inspired by 1920s warlords, also I'd recommend Rise Of The White Sun for that), to the weapons (there's quite a variety like the Type 81 AK, Type 86 bullpup AK, Type 85 SMG, Type 77 pistol, Shanxi Type 17 carbine/pistol, QBZ-95 bullpup rifle, QJY-88 LMG, QBU-88, QJZ-89 HMG, QTS-11, FHJ-84 icendiary double barreled rocket launcher, etc.)
And of course copies of chinese power armor (varying from direct copies to original designs)
Would a qbz 191 work too?
Changed your mind about what exactly? A FO game set in another country could of course be highly interesting, because we've seen lots of what happened in the US both visually and thru other media, but this would be great as the rest of the world is really a giant question mark.
Well... SO sad it's only a fan-made trailer, I'm so hype now.
Incredible.
this is so well paced and narratively presented close to how Fallout 3 BOS power armor and NCR Ranger looks back. what a nod
I read in fallout the US marine corps was deployed in China when the bombs fell, it would be cool to see a faction of descendants still trying to keep fighting
Imagine a mutant that looks like a chinese dragon
A chinese Deathclaw mixed with the Fire Gecko that breathes fire/radiation. That's a real problem. 死亡龙 - Siwang Long.

If a Fallout in Communist China looks this cool, imagine a Fallout in the Soviet Union, because in the Fallout universe the USSR itself never dissolved.
Fallout in the Soviet Union would be a lot more interesting than in china that's for sure
Imagine Metro, but with retro technology
@@agentjohnson3973 why? The USSR were in a decline and that it. China at least was the premier communist superpower, have the tech that rival the US and even exceeded them. (stealth tech) We know that the US invaded mainland China and took multiples important cities (Shanghai, etc) and invaded through the sea and Gobi Desert.
if i remember correctly the lore, china became much stronger than soviet union being the only nation strong enough to rivalise with usa
Fewer possibilities for a Fallout USSR since everyone can agree the have Ukraine become independent from Soviet Russia path is the only path worth taking
The Shanghai Space Needle would make you believe that China took a similar route as in our timeline
The guy speaking Chinese said
"General..... Another settlement needs your help."
Comrade General Secretary, another settlement needs our help
I'd assume the major factions would be
Communists: Hardliners that control the fallout shelters and pre-war tech
Imperials: Revival of the ancient traditions, but with a ghoul emperor maybe
American Remnant: Descendents of US soliders fighting in China, half American and half Chinese

This is incredibly well made, major props.
A Fallout game taking place in China would be really cool and is something I want to see.
We won't get it, but I 100% agree about wanting to have one or at least one set in another country or at least a bloody DLC set in one!
Ccp: not on my watch.
Keep what you are doing, mate, it will be great as I have great faith in your masterpiece.
Fallout red + liberty prime = Absolute Cinema
I’ve been saying for years to Bethesda, make a dlc based in China. China cultures is very rich and unique, but Bethesda being Bethesda they never touched anything outside the US.
This trailer looks even better than stuff Bethesda has set out. This’ll be a day 1 download for me when it’s finished. Bravo!
Part of the reason is that they’d never be able to sell the game in China if they set a game in China.
It’s not like Fallout has ever had glowing praise for communism.
Rich culture huh lol
1:34 is anyone else getting Wolfenstein vibes?
Can you imagine how interesting and fresh this would be? A totally different world. New lore, new creatures. New environments. I would love this so much.

just lend the ip to literally anyone else for a spinoff at this point bruh the content drought is insane
Of course there's Obsidian, but there original members are more than likely gone by now

This is actually insane!! I'm genuinely always mind blown by what you make every time!!
Epic music, epic animation, epic dubbing. Absolute Cinema.
What in the world, that was AWESOME!!!
Okay I don't care for most fanmade content but this was legit good.
That was amazing! If your planning to do any more, i think a fallout Australia or fallout Cuba would be cool

Masterful work, i genuinely thought this was camera recorded footage at first.
Which means the Chinese vaults were a thing for many more years?
Stellar work comrade, it's the kind of Fallout 5 everyone wants and needs, 11/10. Any chance you could give us the "We Must Liberate America" poster as an image? I need it for...research purposes and such 🙏

@johanbjorkman1914 Yes, it is the symbol of the Worker's Party of Korea on the trans flag.
"War... War never changes..." You don't need subtitles to know what he said, damn Bethesda to Hell for taking this away from us

By the way the song on the intercom is “song of the people’s volunteer army”

Holy fuck this is genuinely brilliant, well done!
This is a valid setting choice, afaik lore-wise when the nuke fell off there was still an American military presence that continued the siege over several Chinese territories. It would be an interesting faction choice between Invader remnants ts, the Chinese government and some neutral faction or perhaps a faction who plots to topple both major side
