Hey, Bruce. Cheers! Studying Acts mixed chronologically with The New Testament Writings (or at least the letters). Always good to listen to your old classes!!
He was most likely martyred for his faith by a Jewish mob in AD 62- not clear when his letter was composed ,, some scholar suggestion it could be one of the earliest writings of the New Testament, it was written after Stephen was martyred and most likely 44-49AD , why would you say before the “ Christ” crucifixion?
I’m listening to this on August 19, 2024 and the name “Karen” is used for “ over the top hysterical women”.. interesting that it means Joy in Greek. Makes me wonder how that names meaning was changed🧐.. love your teaching. This is the 3rd time I’m listening to your teaching on Jude
I can imagine this being written by James in the company of the other apostles , or at least with Peter and John, as he just lost his brother due to Agripas manace ( the critic of the rich ones in James letter would fit well in this context). Now ... I ask myself if this letter could be send only to christian jews, or to other jewish sinagogs as well.
Thank you
Blessings from Idaho Falls.
What a blessing! We are studying James for the 2021 Lenten season, and this comes up in my feed. Very excited to listen to this series.

James was written before the Crucifixion.

Good stuff! Thanx. Question: Did your son play the piano music you use as intro and exit for your videos?
Actually that's guitar music! My son is a great musician, but not good enough to make a grand piano sound like a guitar! Take care Tom!
