This song is so sweet, About a Mother singing to her 8 year old Daughter Linda who was growing up fast right before her very own eyes, Agnetha Faltskog has the voice of an angel. She has the voice for both ballads and love songs. Agnetha Faltskog she was the voice of ABBA,
I see this post is one year old already, but ABBA has a load of songs that 90% got a hit i would say. It´s one of the most popular bands in the world and they have just released a new album after 40 years of not making any music together and they sound like if they were still young. Very amazing! Its´ called Voyage. Go and search for their music
Beautiful and touching song about a father's or maybe the mother's feelings for her daughter growing up so quickly. This is ABBA's last live performance. You can feel the group members have grown apart here in this show. The couples anyway. Agnetha and Björn divorced and Frida and Benny newly separated. They have an incredible self discipline and willingness to not let their personal lives affect the ABBA work. And a lot of beauty and memorable songs came during this period: Slipping Through My Fingers, When All Is Said And Done, One of Us and of course The Winner Takes It All from the year before (1980). In 1982 they made their last recordings and performances (not live as here) together. (That is, until these days and when they sang to their manager Stikkan Anderson in 1986).
@@lanahands781 That was not live. They were on stage in 82 yes. But it was playback. Except from a short acoustic version of Thank You For The Music in Sweden.
Fantastic song! The best from "The Visitors" album amazing Agnetha singing with her heart, so beautiful The lyrics touch our souls This is a great gift for all the parents, mothers and fathers: a beautiful song performing by Agnetha with her sensitive voice and with her mother's feelings, with fantastic lyrics by a father like Björn Thanks so much for those beautiful song I wish a great week to You
ABBA have a wide range of songs in their catalogue from slow songs like this to the high upbeat songs like Dancing Queen, as well as a number of other styles. I grew up with ABBA when they were at their height from 1974 - 1982 and have most of their songs on the original albums and greatest hits releases. I'm currently re-listening to each album in full to see if I missed any great songs growing up from their collection. Most of the songs are great and I can highly recommend listening to as many as you can. This is one of my personal favourites but always makes me cry. I think every parent should listen to this while their child is young, and learn to cherish those moments. I know it's been a year since you recorded this but I hope you've listened to more since then... I'll check your channel for more...
There are so many ABBA songs. From the many classic ABBA hit singles (like Knowing Me, Knowing You) to lesser known album tracks (such as Eagle). It's a very rich catalogue.
Great reaction! So glad you're getting to know them. Try My Mama Said, Why did it have to be me (the live version from their Australian tour) and Lay all your love on me.
What a great pleasure! You did an emotional reaction today And of ABBA songs most emotionals "Sleeping through my fingers" (1981) is in my opinion the most testimonial and experiential song by ABBA This lyrics are very deep, about the growth of a son and how those moments of time go by day by day the guitarist Björn writes it about her 7/8 year old daughter and her mother Agnetha sings it Sometimes it is related to "The winner takes it all", because it has as protagonists Björn and Agnetha But there are differences between the two stories: 1) that is the figurative story about a divorce (although probably with parts of the reality that Agnetha and Björn lived), but this is a story inspired by the daily lives of parents another difference with 2) this does not arouse the morbidity of the leading couple, it is an intimate story of parents and children that generates tenderness and nostalgia 3) perhaps this one does not have the usual catchy refrains of ABBA or a powerful melody like that, here its melody is soft, cared for and intimate, it accompanies without invading the wonderful emotional interpretation of Agnetha, that always shines much more when the song asks to express the feelings In short, it's a beautiful song by melody and interpreter lyrics, it touches the most intimate fibers of emotion and nostalgia, in my Top 20 of all ABBA songs For a new reaction I suggest You "Summer night city" (1978) another kind of style and genre but live perfomance in London 1979, so You can see all the power energy and joy of ABBA on stage: th-cam.com/video/KsSM2iTBVJ8/w-d-xo.html See you in a future video best regards to You, from my city and country: Buenos Aires, Argentina (South América)
It was probably just accidental typo's but it's about a daughter and it's "Slipping Through My Fingers" not "Sleeping". But I agree with you completely 👍
Please react to When all is said and done, Voulez- Vous, Lay all your love on me and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (a man after midnight) mv and some of their live performances from Wembley concerts 1979, like Chiquitita, Does your mother know/ Hole in your soul and Summer night city. Fantastic songs and performances.
if you enjoy Agnetha's vocals you might want to listen to her Swedish version of SOS from a 1970s solo album and her version in Swedish of I Don't Know How To Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar; both can be found on TH-cam.
The point where every Mamma Mia fan is just like I’m not crying you are lol. Don’t even get us started on “My Love, My Life”… 😭 Also I recommend listening to their live show from London’s Wembley Arena in 1979. Absolutely amazing.
Thank you for great reactions to ABBA. What you think about their new Don´t shut me down song? Another recommendations is Wrap your arms around me with Agnetha solo and I should have followed you home with Agnetha and Gary Barlow.
Thanks for the reaction to this wonderful performance. Agnetha and Bjore were divorced by this point. So were Benny and Frida. This was shot for German TV but at the time ABBA feel safe there do to "Credible kiddnaping threats". So they did this in Stockholm. If you see the whole thing there is a tention between the girls and their ex's. They stick real close together. But this song was written by Bjorn about their 7yo daughter Linda and they all did a great job with it. Here's a fan made video of Frida doing "Super Trouper" From this same show ---> th-cam.com/video/XzeTRy5lby8/w-d-xo.html It's good because it's in stereo and live. But he mixes in some of the official video too to fill it out. Hopefully it won't get blocked. I can't help it, I love ABBA. Thanks again.
remember two things these is in 1981 Frida & Benny was just separated , with great tention between both but not the same in Agnetha & Björn , because They did it in 1978 Christmas (more than two years)
Try chiquitita for a rise up again feel good song by ABBA. So many more songs that are great however by them! Barely scratched the surface. There's also some extremely energetic live performances if you want recommendations

Amazing. Back in the day when people could sing in harmony. Not just try to out-scream each other.
Mats Ronander and Lars Wellander world class solo guitarrists Brilliant. Agnetha is as usually fabulous in how she puts soul in her vocals
