    As an AMFT I find you such a wealth of information. Clients tend to like my groups but not sure why but I think engaging them and integration with each other is better than a monologue/lecture approach.

    I can personally attest that empathy was key in my own healing from narcissistic traits, and I think is often overlooked in its importance. It started first for me with being empathetic to myself and understanding what that actually looked like. I think maybe many people do not realize that at least some of those with narcissistic personality traits (developed as a defense from childhood trauma, yes) may look like they give themselves whatever they want and are thus empathetic to themselves, when at least for me this was not the case. I did not know how actually to be *kind* to myself, and what supporting good mental health looked like. Once I was able to give this to myself, it was not only possible but fulfilling to give this to others; "you cannot give from an empty cup." I look foward to the day that I can provide this sort of guidance in a professional setting, because I believe in its power to change someone's life, and therefore everyone around them. Doc Snipes, your material is fantastic- every video a gem- and I appreciate you greatly 🙏

    Can I ask if how would a leader become mature when they are not able to decipher an arguements in a group when the one who started off that sparkle is not at fault and the victim who fight back is the one considered wrong by this leader?

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  āļŦāļĨāļēāļĒāđ€āļ”āļ·āļāļ™āļāđˆāļāļ™

      * Leadership maturity involves the ability to navigate complex group dynamics and make fair judgments. When a leader misjudges a situation and blames the wrong individual, it can undermine their credibility and the group's trust. To mature as a leader in such scenarios, one might consider the following steps:
      1. Self-Reflection: The leader should reflect on their decision-making process and consider why they may have misjudged the situation. This involves examining any biases or preconceived notions that could have influenced their perspective.
      2. Seeking Feedback: It can be beneficial for the leader to seek feedback from other group members or mentors to gain different viewpoints on the incident. This can help the leader understand the dynamics they may have missed.
      3. Learning Conflict Resolution: Developing skills in conflict resolution can help a leader more accurately assess who is at fault in an argument. This includes active listening, asking clarifying questions, and understanding the underlying issues that may have led to the conflict.
      4. Apologizing and Making Amends: If the leader realizes they have made a mistake, it is important to apologize to the affected parties and take steps to rectify the situation. This shows accountability and helps to rebuild trust.
      5. Implementing Group Norms: Leaders can work with the group to establish clear norms and boundaries that promote respect and prevent misunderstandings. This can include guidelines on how to respectfully assert one's boundaries and preferences within the group setting.
      6. Ongoing Education: Leaders should commit to ongoing learning about leadership, group dynamics, and effective communication. This can involve reading, attending workshops, or participating in training sessions.
      7. Creating a Safe Environment: Ensuring that the group setting is emotionally safe for all members is crucial. This means being vigilant about the group's emotional climate and intervening when necessary to maintain a respectful and supportive atmosphere.
      * By taking these steps, a leader can grow in maturity and become more adept at handling group conflicts fairly and effectively. It's important to remember that leadership is a journey, and each challenge presents an opportunity for growth and improvement.
