JusBasNBeauty You did nothing wrong she could have spoken to you respectfully that's how adults handle things. So she deserved to received whatever type of verbal response from you. She could have Got out of her car taken a look at the damage and since there wasn't any then just move on or even have an additude on her face if she wants. She also could have waited for you to say something to YOUR daughter instead of jumping on the chance to reprimand SOMEONE else's child .If she REALLY wanted to say something she could have said "Oh no is there any damage ?" I have had grown adults hit my car while opening the door And I don't go outside of the car pointing my finger in anyone's face . No you weren't wrong at all, I'm glad you were raised with respect though because a lot of people would have knocked that lady flat. It was an accident and the lady needs to learn how to park, but what you don't do is walk up on my child and sure don't wanna put your finger in her face because you can get these hands for free that day and I'm not a violent person at all. Girl, some elderly people are grumpy as heck. I was in the grocery store one time and an elderly woman had her cart right in the way of where I wanted to go. I very politely said, "Excuse me," And she looked up at me and said, " You can go around," or something like that. Girl, I had to give myself a moment to exhale. I respect my elders also, but I wanted to say, "Listen, you wrinkly old prune, just cause you already got one foot in the grave don't mean you have to take it out on me." But I didn't.
Some old people feel like they get respect regardless. I had to tell my ex supervisor off once. She came in the room we were cleaning. And because I hadn't clean the whole room in the hr I was their alone. Ahe started shoving desks and chairs across the room. Then when I said hold up. She ran her tail down the hallway. I told her don't run because the next time she feels froggy, jump. Because I'll bend your ass like a pretzel and I don't care how old you are. You jump at me I'll jump right back.
Love your contacts. I have to agree with you about how you handled the situation because that old lady was in the wrong. I would actually start bitching at people for the way they parked too. Shoot, I bitched them out for the way they drive when I'm going to work.

Nope, old lady was in the wrong, one for her delivery, 2 for who she targeted her feelings to, 3 for her parking, 4 for them fingers. Anybody making a child feel the way your child felt might have got clapped by somebody else, so you def handled it well.
Yeah I understand where you’re coming from. I would be upset if someone hit my car too. If you have kids (if you can, try parking away from someone in an empty parking place or get out and just open the car door for them, or just tell them next time to slowly open the door.

I can't come for you on this I don't even have kids yet and I wouldn't allow this! Accidents happen and that woman had no business putting her hand in your child's face if she had a problem she could've talked to you not your child! All she had to do was check her car for damages and let it go since there weren't any! What can a child do anyway hell accidents happen it's not like she did it on purpose!

I think you handled the situation in the parking lot appropriately. A simple apology from your child for touching the other vehicle with your car door was in order. Then off to handle your business. No time to stand there and go back and forth with an elderly no less. Your daughter handled herself well because she did not do anything further to escalate the misfortune. Now because I have to be real with you proceeding to discuss the matter beyond that point (in the store isles) were like you said in your own words petty. Not coming for you because we all can handle situations better when we can sit down and thoroughly evaluate the situation but in the heat of the moment is the real challenge. We have to remember our kids are watching everything we do and it’s important to teach them how to avoid unnecessary conflict. Choose our battles wisely so to say. Everything don’t have to or need to end with a brawl. We are too old for that and the officers are going to do their job no matter who was in the wrong.
