Pothundi dam and garden: A short walk

Pothundi dam is an irrigation dam situated in the Pothundi village in #palakkad district in Kerala, India.
Timing: 10 AM - 6 PM, all days

It is a good place to spend a half day. There are playing areas for children and there are activities like sky cycling for the adventurous. Note that activities like sky cycling have additional charges than mentioned above. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. The view of the mountains from the top of the dam is stunning. We went there in the morning. It might be better to visit in the evening. This is on the way to Nelliyampathy hill station. Nelliyampathy is just 22 kms from Pothundi dam. If you are visiting Nelliyampathy also, you should first go to Nelliyampathy and visit Pothundi dam/garden on your way back. There is a Checkpost on the way to Nelliyampathy. When you get back from Nelliyampathy, you should cross the Checkpost by around 3.00 PM, unless you are staying in a hotel/resort in Nelliyampathy. So if you spend time in Pothundi dam/garden first, you may not get enough time to explore Nelliyampathy.
