      They dominated the entire first half of the 3rd tho. Multiple posts, Igor saving the Rangers asses (shocking) and Rangers getting just about every single thing possible to bounce their way to win that. Was more lucky for the Rangers than a collapse by the canes. Canes were better all series. Goaltending kept most games from being a blowout by the Rangers (again shocking)

      They limited the Rangers to 24 shots. Their goalie lets in 4. Andersson just needed to be average for them to win. You can take the goalie out of Toronto, but you can’t take the Toronto out of the goalie.
      4 goals on 24 shots in an elimination game in the playoffs isn’t acceptable as a goalie on a contending team. Time for Canes to finally give their team a legit goalie. Not win if anything with sub 900 Andersson

    • @36inc
      @36inc 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      @@chevelle1 you fan types honestly dont know how shot percentage save percentage or percentage in general works. a win is a win whether the tender is 900 or 750. games are going to generally be around those averages- we know that cause the stats are telling yu that. but its not like a requirement nor does it tell you much about the individual performance. lets say your team basically plays the whole game down stream- constantly on the other guy- so the one that beats the cold ice goalie counts for way more of the percentage than the other guy drowning in shots but saving all but 2. the guy down the ice whose made 3 saves and one breakaway got him is the winner. because thats how stats work. they dont tell you- your stats should look like this- it tells you these are the most common outcomes.

    It is hard to watch a team with a 3-1 lead hit two posts and then their goaltender have a bad 3rd. Both these teams are very good, both could have won the cup this year. The NYR seem to have a great chemistry and if they win the next round it will be earned.I know the Canes fans are in a lot of pain, but they will learn from this. The owners went all in and gave them a great chance. As for the NYR fans, enjoy your team's run, and remember in the end all us hockey fans love our teams.

      Canes never led in the series and were underdogs going in, there was no choke, no soft goals, no penalty parade or failure to stick to a gameplan, they played a good game, played their system and lost against a better team. A choke is when a team looks like they're about to win a series and breakdown only to lose it, get swept or are the heavy favourites and no-show. This series was tight and entertaining, I had the Canes as my Eastern pick but I knew the Rangers were going to be tough to beat, going 6 against the league's top team in Round 2 should make their hometown fans proud.

      Rangers were not lucky. We played 4 games and a period of excellent hockey. Our styles are different, rangers create great quality chances which is why our shots are less and the canes just like to shoot from anywhere. We won 4 out of 6 games. I don't understand how that is luck. Our goalie played better than theirs, how is that luck? Our PP was better than theirs, how's is that luck? Our PK was better than theirs, how is that luck? In game four, we hit the pipe twice in the third, we lost. They hit the pipe twice in this game, the lost.

      @@WhyIsThisHappening83there’s always some luck involved in every game of every series. I think the only game where the Rangers truly outplayed Carolina was Game 1. Games 2 and 3 were pretty even and could have gone either way. Rangers missed some wide open nets in Game 4. Carolina embarrassed them in Game 5. Looked like Game 6 was going to be another embarrassment, but Kreider decided to actually try and took over the game. Canes have nothing to be ashamed of, they played hard against the best team in the NHL and took them to 6 games, didn't roll over, have a moral collapse or start taking stupid penalties, the hat trick goals weren't soft, flukes or garbage goals, they were legit goal-scorer's goals, Andersen can't be blamed, they would have gotten past most goalies. All in all the Canes had a great series and their fans should be proud of them. I bet on the Canes to go to the Finals, also bet on the Oilers in the West but I honestly wouldn't be sad if they lose to Vancouver, a Rangers vs Canucks Finals, 1994 rematch, would be pretty cool.

    • @Straight_Az
      @Straight_Az 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      As a rangers fan. Great comment. As I stated in a previous comment the rangers score on highly skilled plays that "most" goalies will give up. They essentially make goalies look bad by getting them out of position or a cross ice pass that the goalie has no chance on. And being very opportunistic, they skew the numbers by scoring with fewer shots than many teams in the league.

    • @ll7868
      @ll7868 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Straight_Az I should be upset, I lost money on this series and could lose more if the Oilers get eliminated. Lotta people saying the refs determined the outcome, that's a cheap excuse, the better team won, simple as that. I honestly hate when people blame the refs, it's as if they think everything is scripted, if they truly think that they should quit watching the NHL, legit sports aren't for them, they should stick to watching WWE where the refs are paid to be biased.

      Alot of playoffs comes down to matchups. Canes aren't the best match up for us with their forecheck and able to maintain o zone pressure. That's been our weakness forever but got it done. Florida is a wagon and we just match up better with Boston. But the Bs making it a series with some pretty terrible offensive play gives me confidence. Gotta get the cycle going and play below the dots. Once they get buzzing down low were so tough to stop with those crisp seam passes.

    Congrats to Chris Kreider on his natural hat trick. Great job by him in stunning the home crowd.
    That being said, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT HURRICANES?! I'M NOT SURE IF TOTAL INCOMPETENCE OR DIVINE INTERVENTION WAS THE REASON CAROLINA TURNED INTO A PUDDLE! BRUTAL IS PUTTING IT VERY LIGHTLY ON HOW THIS SEASON ENDED FOR THE CANES! WHAT A MESS!
    Rant over. Time for me to pull for the winner of the Bruins/Panthers series.

      @nathanbreakfast7424 Nice try bud, we here in Upstate NY prlly got just as much country if not more then NC. Not every rangers fan lives in NYC, just like every Canes fan doesn't live in Raleigh.

      @IamGenoBlack nah that's called Western NY my friend. The Hudson Valley up to the ADKs and even out west getting toward Syracuse is still more connected to NYC.
