Bert and Tom were by far the worst comics at the roast. Don’t know wtf they were trying to do. Everyone else was pretty good.
They were trying to do some Smothers Brothers back and forth, like some hacky Vaudeville bit, but neither one of them are suited for that style - especially Bert, who physically can't help but make himself the focal point of a show, he even had to point out that he was snorting and laughing.
People used to find that endearing, but he's so phony.

An alpha move was Ross saying feck it, you're not gonna tell me I can't make a joke about an old-ass billionaire who was screwing around in massage parlors.
I don't know I have a different view on it. Tom didn't have to put himself in that position. To be willing to make yourself the target of a roast for other peoples entertainment is a pretty generous and humiliating task so to politely ask for one topic to be avoided I think is a pretty reasonable ask. People should at least listen to any requests that the target of the roast may have whilst being put in that position. If you don't agree then you don't have to do the roast. But don't agree to avoid a sensitive topic and then whilst that person is being mildly humiliated for other peoples entertainment then turn your back on your word and hurt or humiliate the person by publicly touching on one of the only topics which they asked and which agree to avoid. If Jeff agreed to do it to their face but then sneaked in the joke behind their back I don't think that's alpha at all. Its actually kind of cowardly, pathetic, and selfish.

Greg Giraldo was and will always be the most savage roaster of all time. Sad he tragically died, but this was the first time since Greg did the Comedy Central roasts that I actually laughed hard at a roast via Tony. He is sharp in his Kill Tony podcast too. Real comedy is coming back.

I watch the whole show and it was great. Wasn’t all top lineup (but they all had their following) and as a Giants fan I was there for it. Crazy thing is it was on Netflix and towards the end you could feel the need for commercial breaks. Next time they should add prerecorded skits or something to air.
It was 3 hours long already with no commercials and pre taped segments

@@YoRAHeem Even when you are binge watching a TV show there are still natural pauses between episodes every hour or so. Not many people are sitting still and watching 3 straight hours of standup comedy and if there was commercials it would have been 4+ hours
