Hi, nice vid. We own the Bikalan, the pub you mentioned briefly. We always recommend guests arrange with their Grab driver to wait, only rm20-30 for a few hours; or fetch you at an arranged time. We have a few 'tame' drivers so regularly help guests get home. It can be a problem as the drivers don't like coming out late. Should have called by for a beer, we'd have got you home 😎😎😎
helo Franc and Sarah, im from Bau, siniawan basically our area, we apologise for the inconvenience...i felt sorry for what happen...i hope you guys have fun in Kuching Sarawak...dont felt hesitate to visit siniawan in future...i hope our political people watch your content, so that their eyes open...we lack of public transport in that area....God bless both of you...!! done subs!!
Hello! Really appreciate it. But there's nothing for you to apologise for. The people of Kuching and Sarawak in general were all amazing. We felt welcomed while there and will definitely visit the Borneo side again. Keep doing what you're doing there because we love it! Thank you for the sub as well, means a lot to us 🙏❤️
We’re still waiting to get home Hahahhaha. Yes it was very weird, the market was only about 20KM outside of the city and zero grab drivers… it was a learning curve for us that is for sure but we made it back safe even though we had to pay more for it 😅🤣🤣❤️
If I had to wait 45 minutes I would have had 10 beers lol - We have the small bananas in our garden and on the plantation so you might be able to pick some when you're here - 07:24 I noticed they had given you 2 left handed chopsticks so it was always going to be a problem using them !!!
It was very tempting not to have too many beers! Haha I think In total we almost waited 2 hours then the person who picked us up wasn’t even the person I messaged. It was very funny and weird and a new experience for us 🤣 Yes definitely the chopsticks were at fault, not the user of the chopsticks. Hahahahah
We eat meat because we need the nutrition. If you look at our actual traditional diet, we eat more greens. Our protein sources are diverse unlike in the west. We also enjoy exotics like the sago grubs which is a good source of protein minus the fat. Or the soft shelled " lelita' " or the kejumah or the kelatang... to name a few. Of course it's not easy for you to find them sold commercially.
Ok. So at 1:45 when Franc looks back and Sarah laughs, that right there was one of the sweetest moments captured between you two. I really hope you got a ride out of there and didn't have MacGyver a ride on a croc to get home. Haha
Nice one F&S showing Chinese night market and it looked like you the only tourist there. The people were very welcoming that always break the ice when visiting a new place. Sarah that dessert looked the works making me hungry 😋 .Glad you got back home safely. It was nice of the taxi driver to pick you up.👍🙏🙏🙏😊
We saw probably 2 other folk like us there, and they looked to be perhaps in relationships, so I guess we were! So happy to get back, some of the locals did offer us a lift back, unfortunately after we had sorted a lift back, but all good. Lovely people in Sarawak!
@@franclyspeaking, I live in KL but originally from Sarawak. Comparing the prices with the likes of Jalan Alor and other touristy places in KL city centre… Siniawan isn’t pricey. And it has its own unique ambiance.
That is an old town market.. not really nice... You must visit to Metrocity Night Market or Kubah Ria Sunday Market (Medan Niaga Satok).. these places are happening!!

An interesting night - Grab drivers are hiding after dark 🤔 some good food it seems and a nice vibe - are you home yet ?? ✌️🤠👍🙏
We’re still waiting to get home Hahahhaha.

Kuching is more lively during weekend and a less lively durinh weekdays.. have u visit the muzeum, ull be spending hours in there
We absolutely adore Kuching, I think the quietness is really nice. A good change from being in KL and such. ❤️
For the ABC, u got to mix it all as the syrup’s all at the bottom
Nice one! Thanks for the tip 🙏😊
Great video Siniawan night market my friend
Thank you friend ❤️🙏
Want protein ..?? Just go to the shops and grab an entire chicken… chicken is so common everywhere in Malaysia
Damn!!! Being a local, the returning part from the bazaar was just embarrassing.
Hope you guys made for the disappointments.
Definitely an attraction that needs better access for tourists. But we made it back and water under the bridge.

Hahaha aw thanks Sean 🥰
Haha yeah nah mate we wrangled a big old croc and rode it all the way back into town 😂
the grab driver has to go pick you up on an empty trip. some surcharge is reasonable. but not too much.
We learned the hard way hahaha. That’s ok, we got home in the end, just had to wait a bit longer 😭🤣
Bau town not kuching its different area pls promote Bau
Is the ice dessert sweet, red beans? Lol
Yeah really good! Not too sweet!

It's not convenient for foreign travelers particularly tourist when moving around is difficult due to the lack of public. transportation.
Did you get home ok?
Nah we’re still stuck there hahahahhahaa. Just kidding, we were fine 😊
Tbh even us locals rarely go Siniawan cause it's a tourist trap. Usually we will go to 101 or Saradise for night life.
Interesting, thank you! It didn’t feel too touristy but it wasn’t what we thought it was going to be for sure 😂
Yummy food there though!

Absolutely you need English to travel and communicate
That dessert looked nice, but what a joke getting home
It was an absolute mission, a lesson in patience for us. 😊😂

We have a video on Medan Niaga Satok up
Now 😊
It was a really interesting market & we absolutely loved it. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
