- In this video, we have tested the world's first Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 phone to find out if it is actually an underpowered version of the flagship 8 Gen 3 or is it an overclocked 7 series chipset. We also ran benchmarks and tested games such as BGMI, Genshin Impact, etc.
The phone featured in this video is the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro.

It would have been bonkers if 8s gen3 was a slightly overclocked version of 8 gen2 with the same GPU setup, because the GPU in 8 gen2 is miles ahead of what is being offered on 7+ Gen2 (talking on terms efficiency and power consumption)
But albeit this turned out to be an Intel like move from snapdragon by confusing us consumers with complex naming schemes lmao, the video addressed my doubts regarding this mysterious chipset (thank you!!), Hoping that Poco F6 would launch with 8 Gen2 instead of this processor, although chances are slim for that to happen.

@@PrimeTwisters FYI 8 serie has a quad channel and 7 has dual Channel which means 8sgen3 will have double bandwidth of 7+geb3. It's not only about gpu and cpu scores bandwidth matters too

There's something wrong with the graphical/bar representation of the 8sG3. It's making it look so bad but if we see the numbers, it's not that bad.

@@vivshij1349 if you see closely, its not comical graphical bars but the number is 10x lower. But I think that is some sort of optimisation issue and definitely not an accurate score.

You are right about the performance here. I agree that it similar to a midrange chipset and not a flagship one.
But things to remember: 8 series processors even if low performance has advantage of flagship chips like AI features and their update cycle is way more, because of which Samsung and Google can give 7 years of updates

8 series processor have the advantage os 7 years worth of updates? Tell that to my Nubia Z50 because of all the 8 months I own the phone i only received an update last month. I'm still in android 13
It has half the cache of 8 gen 3/2. Which makes it less efficient and it runs hot also gpu is significantly weaker than 8gen2. Both 7+gen3 & 8s gen 3 are 30k smartphones SoC.

Better you should have compared with 8 gen 1 and 8 gen 2 chips which are exactly same powered processors and should be compared to a equally balanced exinos and meditech processor in that region of chipsets not with high end

2:32 are you sure ? It literally has same cpu core structure as 8gen3 with different clock speeds🤷 , it's just that 7+ gen 3 is soo good it makes 8s gen 3 look like a minor upgrade.
Idk what you are trying to say but check at 1:06 ...check the CPU cores and their arrangements and configurations. 7+ Gen 3 is almost similar to 8s Gen 3 except for the higher Ghz of 8s Gen 3. 8s Gen 3 looks like a overclocked version of 7+ Gen 3.
Whereas 8 Gen 3 is a completely different setup.
@@angshumansarmah6626I would agree with what @sv6180 has said, because civi 4 pro isn't meant to be a performance phone, it is actually a camera oriented phone aimed for girls, on the other hand op ace 3v is proper performance phone like an upcoming poco f6, judging a processor based on civi 4 pro would be a rookie mistake which this channel and several others are doing, though it has 6mb of L3 cache which a worry as 8gen2 has 8mb of L3 cache, but it would be wise to wait for 8s gen3's true potential from brands like poco and iqoo.

Buddy. 870 is grandma now. Leave that and move on. Even poco F5 came to 22k and is 1.5 times faster than 870.
Guess what? I have been using f4 with 870 for 3 years now and no it doesn't hold up now for warzone and switch emulation etc.

Not a worthy upgrade but do remember there are 2 types of 7 gen chipset, one is a 7 *Plus* Gen 3 and another 7 *Gen* 3. 7 Plus Gen 3 is significantly better than 7 Gen 3
LPDDR6 and UFS5.0 must be in SD9Gen1
8s gen 3 wil be acceptable in 30-35k price.

For me MediaTek is good at naming on their chipset than Snapdragon on my take.

Your video is misleading. 8s gen 3 is still a midrange chip with an X4 Cpu. And Civi 4 Pro is not a gaming phone, it is made for youth generation that wants camera-centric device. Civi series is Xiaomi's new mid-range phone which why they put 8s Gen 3 on it.
That is the point of the video. If it's a midrange chipset, why is it named 8s gen 3?
