Hello Barry, your videos are great. The Manta is back at Tractor Supply and Walmart. We can get them shipped from Walmart in North New Jersey. It's also available in-store in Newton, NJ.
Yep. People have been reporting that they are able to get ahold of them. Walmart's availability seems a lot better than TSC's, but things will improve over time. Thank you for the compliment! I truly appreciate it!
Had a similar experience on the Conococheague about 20 years ago. Air temps were in the 90s, water upper 80s and got a pig rainbow on a shad rap. Crazy catch brother!
One of the craziest I've ever had. I still haven't hit the Conococheague, despite the fact that it's fairly close to me. I hear it can be pretty decent.
@@ri-jm5tn With the bang-up, wet Spring we had, I'm relatively shocked that we are finding the same drought-ish conditions as last year. I'm also struggling to find a place to do the swift-water vid for the Manta! The place I normally do that (Potomac Wayside to Brunswick) is likely nothing but rocky "cliffs" at the three drop-offs right now. About the only thing I can think of is South Fork Shen above Alma, or perhaps NB Potomac below Jennings... but even those are probably very sketchy right now. I was hoping yesterday's rain was going to bring water levels up a little bit, but the levels didn't even move! If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.
@@BarryPSusquehanna has some water now. Between the heat and water levels, I've been hitting local flat water with ultralight gear for panfish. Got on a pretty awesome crappie bite a couple mornings ago with a dozen keepers 10-12" and probably a PB that was 14-15" and around 1 3/4lb. Never really targeted crappie before, but this could turn into a regular thing, damn fun it is!
nice vid, water is so low in point of rocks area where i usually launch where are some other spots u reccomend i hit for smallies on the upper potomac ?
Last time I was out there was about a month ago and that wasn't even to fish. I was shooting a review video for the Lifetime Manta about a month ago: th-cam.com/video/QQH3-96ar0k/w-d-xo.html I'm struggling right now to think of anything with enough flow for Class I-II strainers in our region right now. Find an area with a lot of riffles and fish the bottom end of them. That's where most of the oxygen will be. If you find any, let me know! LOL
To be perfectly honest, I went down like crazy with a Psoriatic arthritis flare up the day after we shot the Basic Mods vid (about a week ago). I'm just now getting around to walking around without crutches or a cane. I am hoping to shoot tomorrow, but I'm not entirely sure the 4hr round trip to swifter stuff is going to play out like I want it to. The water levels are VERY low right now. There's also that whole thing about the Tractor Supply Manta sales page (intentional or not) suddenly being absent about 36 hrs ago. Whatever happened, it absolutely flatlined the views on my channel. I don't know what the issue is. Most of the views are related to Tractor Supply carrying the kayak (Walmart doesn't advertise the yak AT ALL). Hopefully, it's not political nonsense (TS is currently getting dragged in the "news" for being "woke" and seems to be an un-earned political target). I've reached out to both TS and Lifetime to see if they can clarify things. I don't take sides on politics (Independent). I just want everyone to have the best gear that they can get their hands on for the best price. "Swift" will be up as soon as practical.
@@echofoxtrotwhiskey1595 As I understand, they didn't really have one to begin with. Hiring minorities and women isn't exactly DEI, but for whatever reason, somebody wants (and has managed) to take TS down a peg. I'll wait until I get a better word from either or both parties before saying anything further about my opinion on the whole thing (I did ask them both if the news had anything to do with it). It's always better to have all the info available than to make yourself (me) look like an ignorant a-hole. I don't expect perfectly honest answers from either party, but it should be pretty easy to figure out (assuming both parties reply).
That was a beast!
I expect (or at least hope for) this stuff about 100 miles upstream, not here. She was a beauty.
Nice footage. That rainbow was in very shallow water. All I can say is WOW!
That was a very unique catch. I'm almost healed up and we need to get out there!
@@BarryP For sure. I'm looking forward to it.
Helluva catch Barry. Wow!😂
Weird, innit?
That was an amazing catch! Great job!!
Thanks, SkunkMaster! That definitely ranks up there with one of my top 10 weirdest catches. I'm just glad she got through it.

wow that’s crazy!
It sure surprised me!

@@BarryP It can fish well, but low water coupled with mats of star grass can make floating next to impossible this time of year.

Really makes you think how many stockies are just hanging out at these creek mouths!
... and this happened in mid-June!!!! I certainly won't be ignoring those inlets at that time of year, anymore!

Where’s the swift water test?

@@BarryP Gotcha. No worries, take care of yourself. And if I’m to understand correctly, TS actually just got rid of their DEI program.
