    The Octopus Pro has a frequency of 168 (STM32F429) or 180 mhz (STM32F446). The STM32H7 on the SKR 3 is 480 mhz. Quite a different beast :)

    • @MirageC
      @MirageC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Oh WOW! Thank you for correcting me Mikkel! This is indeed a beast! I wonder how much of this we will be using. Or what new door is this opening.

    • @miklschmidt
      @miklschmidt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Joe Schmoe Indeed, it's faster than the 6HC. But.. Still no separate X/Y input shaper :(
      Of course there's marlin as well.
      480mhz is completely wasted on klipper :D

    • @benclimo461
      @benclimo461 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that's a massive jump!! But as im using klipper I can't see how this would improve things at all unfortunately, but for Marlin and RRP this can have massive impacts with expansion boards and input shaper etc.

    • @Kalvinjj
      @Kalvinjj ปีที่แล้ว

      Not only the frequency difference is massive, but the core itself is far more powerful on it's own.
      That chip is an absolute beast.

    I think the idea of the 5 channels is to use CAN on the toolhead. So you would have X/Y/Z1/Z2/Z3 on the board and E1 on the CAN bus toolboard.

    Great video, as usually. If were're talking about the Trinamic 5160 => spec: Voltage Range 8-60V DC without radiator. All your test are great exept this one: please consider do thermal bench only with a load: a stepper with a load or a power resistor.

    wow.... BTT has come very far. i love the pinout guide on the box, that is massive.

      How it helps to add enough juice? It is not capacitor. Something unlogical. Do they show that at manual?

    • @dsprecision4782
      @dsprecision4782 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is incorrect. A resistor is not going to "supply juice". Instead it will take away or dissipate juice. It is not a capacitor.

    I think the resistor is to be used with an LED for the print bed, if the connection to the bed has an LED. I don't have such a setup, but I'd guess the LED will be on when the bed voltage is on (when heating).

    • @kmartyCZ
      @kmartyCZ ปีที่แล้ว

      Standard USB type B is big, that's true. But it also unbeatable (especially by type C) when comes the reliability.
      In my case, even miniUSB (which should be the least lasting by design) lasts always longer than any USB type C cable (which by design should lasts more insertings, but in real life, it is quite opposite).

    Doesn't know what the resistors are for....
    Adjustable external thermistor pullup, for those of us who don't want to try and solder 0402 or smaller resistors on a packed board. Maybe I want to send in direct analog voltage from a width detector and don't need a pullup or E1...
    Only board I've seen lately that allows this.
