Just past the halfway mark of #11 writing a couple of chapters on urban terrorism in Victorian days then a couple on a genius series of bank robberies- very tempting. I write ad hoc on time sometimes a lot sometimes none but I've always done everything like that. I'm putting a lot more into the villains than when I started because I don't think someone can be totally evil except a few serial killers.
Yes - you're absolutely right - even a villain as a few redeeming features that make them human! And don't change a thing about your writing routine - at 11 books, it's clearly working for you!
