Thats a great question. Performance recording helps to record the performance information of key events and it you can record till the time those events occurs. For Example: If your workbook is really slow when you change a year filter and it's slows down further when you change parameter value . This gives us 2 events and you can record the performance for the time when you manually trigger these events on tableau desktop. Hope that helps :-)
