That sounds like a typical Chinese organization 😂 I can tell you it's not better at other universities 😂😂 Hopefully you could take the intermediate class 😊 In my experience everything was a bit more loose during Covid, but before Covid you needed a good HSK 4 score to be placed in the intermediate class, people with a level of HSK 3 were only placed in the beginner's class.
