Nice job. I used to place this in a band, the magic of the riff is getting notes to ring while others are being picked and having reverb on the bass. I'm glad you went to the source. I often find teachers showing a lick only to watch the artist play it differently. I am a stickler for getting it like it was written. It always sounds better whether your ears know it or not. You took the time to work out detail and taught it in an understandable way. You have my subscription Jeff. PS James James also plays guitar parts pretty accurately and is usually my go to guy when learning a new riff, but he is sometimes hard to follow. Thanks Brother!

Thank you! You are a great teacher. I've been playing for over 40 years, and been an Aerosmith longer. I've ham-handed this bass line until about a month ago when I was asked to help a friends band out. This is spot on and such a great lesson.

For all of those who are reading the comments sections or anyone who is serious about learning music, I will share a bit about myself. I have been studying guitar with him for about 6 years now and to this day Jeffrey still amazes and inspires me to want to learn more. He is an excellent teacher and will show you any style you want. When I first met Jeff, what stood out for me was that on my very first lesson, he asked and encouraged me to bring CD’s from artists of my choice. I always loved the Spanish guitar but couldn’t find a teacher who could show me the proper chord progressions being used on any of the CD’s I would bring to them to listen to. Long story short, my current teacher Jeff was able to match the chords and rhythm being used on the guitar songs from my favorite artists and I have been studying and learning from him since then. As far as I am concerned, Jeff is the best musician and composer I have had the privilege of studying with. I have lived in Seattle, WA my whole life and have never experienced real music until I met Jeff. Don’t waste time trying to learn how to play a song from a random You-Tube video because from my experience they are inaccurate versions of how a song should really sound and be played and also just cheezy interpretations of a song. You-Tube videos can be very misleading. If you want A+ results and answers when trying to figure out how to play a song on an instrument, then I highly recommend taking Skype lessons with Jeffrey Thomas because he is the best around and he also writes out the chords in tablature for his students to have material to study on their own with. Best of Luck to aspiring musicians.

The Areosmith greatest hits album ruined Sweet Emotion and Kings and Queens by cutting out great parts to the songs.
