Hey guys, just wanted to type up a little discussion because finals got me fuming. This is a small rant about what I thought made this episode real integral to this story. As always if you are not caught up you may find some SPOILERS here so reader beware.
I have always enjoyed this episode, even after I rewatched it. It is where in my opinion you find a lot of our characters at their weakest points psychologically speaking: Task is fully consumed by his rage from all the recent trouble he has had and is even willing to kill a "civ" he knows is being played with by a dark god because it is easier than solving the bigger problem. Greckles is overcome with a hesitation to help someone who, as we learn becomes more that just a friend to him, out of his fear of an unstoppable being that is Stilhavity. Panic is also given one hell of a mental ride by the first "pudding of Stilhavity" slime where he experiences insecurity about his relations with others and wishes to not be a burden on them, this follows him even after the mental attack ends leaving him exhausted and completely done with everything until their friends get attacked where he seems to shake it off replacing it with anger. Borky is a bit weird meaning I believe he is the most "put together" and rational character during this episode in my opinion probably due to his personal battle being the moral fight of his savage father's influence versus his civilized mother's, which wouldn't really boil up at a time like this. All which comes to a climax in episode 20 Face in the Attic, where I believe the story truly started getting unraveled, for lack of a better word. Wrapping things up I will say that this is not my favorite episode, in fact I disagree with many of the choices the characters made in this episode, but I believe this episode is great because is shows the party at their darkest point (other individuals have their moments later on in the series but at this point this is the first time the team is left completely in the dark) which help endear us to these flawed character's fights, plights, and quests for answers. As Smart Philosopher # 83 once said "you need to stumble before you can rise again".
whew sorry for the long winded comment, but college writing intensive courses got me so bad I am nearly talking in CSE (name-year) format. Anyway thanks for reading if you have and I hope you all have an insightful day.
    Cheers.

I’m so glad I found this! I agree completely, especially with Borky being the most together at this moment. He’s able to go “oh monsters! We fight monsters! Come on guys our friends are in trouble let’s fight monsters! Why are you crying we need to fight monsters!!!” That’s the beauty of having the classic low intellect barbarian, they’re simple minded and in that situation that’s exactly what the party needed to be! “Save friends, kill monsters!”

Monty seems to forget the concept of distance in her campaigns except for character movement. Gust of Wind should have been blowing those oozes back 15 feet, but Monty only moved them 5.

Watching the new campaign and watching Task
Zito really needs to play a Barbarian at some points

I love the whole rogue that cops love. Also spoilers
I feel like Solly is nearly irredeemable at this point, like she could wait like a year our so for her friends to find a way to the underdark, but instead she agrees to help the evil demigod whom the party has mentioned several times is untrustworthy and awfully evil, whom literally defiled a temple to her god.
    Desperation man…

Well shit has hit the fan on this one but that's what happens when you let a aasimar who's been corrupted roam freely. I love that a few of the npcs thusfar came into fight. Tai Borpington being a Rogue came out of left field. All and all great session!

I understand charcter wize why each of them treats sulli the way they do but still as I view it, like in any tv show or just in general. This girl has already gone through so so much. It’s the bare minimum but she’s shown her charctet by not smiting each of you where she stands. She’s lost her power due to being a good person and refusing to bend to the will of her god. She’s grown up with constant voices in her head. Demands. She was sold into slavery by her parents. She’s probably been conditioned which explains the initial chanting to herself. Ptsd, one does easily break those habits. And that had to hurt her knowing the reason she felt so out of control was that faith she was forced into and those same chants. She is a embodiment of the sun and it’s energy in a way but that does not make her a pawn or a tool to utilize by her god. She did not choose him for simply being born and in a way her heritage and sun is all her own if I understand it correctly. She’s used to being manipulated and even more so commanded by gods. It’s already been demonstrated that she’s been put under this demi-gods control at least once. She’s going through way too much for me to at least make any snap judgements. Far from having the full picture. I’d be upset but those paladins were exactly who she was running from and to keep you safe away from. And that god was making POINTS. And yet she still looked conflicted and hesitant. That theme of autonomy and choice. Manipulation and blurred lines. As well as struggling with an identity. How can you argue that you aren’t meant to serve a god who aligns with the divine energy flowing through your being. But the sun is the sun. Even without auron. From what I understand about her race she isn’t even a real descendant of him rather than more the energy he pervays so he feels entitled ti her like she’d be the perfect figure despite what she wants.

Like no need to man handle her good god 😭 I’m enjoying myself I just hate the height of sulli hostility at times. Right when I thought everyone had come around to her.

Still kind of confused about the ruined bit. I saw no set up what so ever but serious RP and then he came in with a fleshed out bit. Also this boss gives me bendy.
