Merci d'avance 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
One of my mentors told me that when he was learning this toss, he failed to catch his mace. The dome ended up smacking him on the forehead, giving him a gash that needed stitches. Don't let this discourage you from learning the toss. Parallels (or horizontal tosses) are fun to pull off and they aren't that common of a sight in comps. Anyways, always be careful when practicing drum majors.
Hey man, I don't know if you respond anymore but I have a question. Do you do any excercises/weight lifting to help with being a drum major. I'm really into weight lifting and I was wondering how I could incorporate it into my routine.
Hey arty I’m a young drum major and I’m not strong at all. I wanted to try out this toss but I’m too afraid that I’ll go wrong due to my lack of strength. Do you have any advice or tips for this throw.
Hi there, I would like to interpret a horizontal toss into my salute routine for Drum Major tryouts which are coming up soon. I would really like to add in this toss but idk how to find a much fluid routine to than put in on my left arm on time. Any ideas? Help!
@@ArtyMac oh alright thank you! I added it into my opening routine and also to my salute routine. My salute routine consists of a horizontal toss, the two handed neck wrap twice, and a horizontal toss. Tryouts are in a day and I hope this toss blows the judges away!
How do you deal with (any) throws in direct sunlight? I find problems with both light in eyes or glinting off the head.....makes catches a lot harder lol
If you have to, try not to toss directly into sunlight. Sun and wind are the DMs natural enemy. A lot of the time you just have to practice in sunlight. Usually this is where you as a DM will have to make the decision to alter your routine to fit certain conditions
ArtyMac so do you come up with your routines on the fly? As in planning your next double forte when at the carry? I generally have tried to write a routine for a 4/4 a different one for a 3/4, 6/8 etc... so I can practce sequences.
This was one of the most requested tutorials. I hope you all enjoy.
ArtyMac it's very super and excellent i like it

Yeeterson Petason I have a variation of it which resembles a palm spin.
