Monday Morning in Amelia's Ward, Linden, Guyana. 🇬🇾

Amelia’s Ward is an estate in Guyana. Amelia’s Ward is situated nearby to Arakwa Creek, and northeast of Kara-Kara River.
Linden is a town on the Demerara River in northeast Guyana. The Linden Museum of Socio-Cultural Heritage, in a former recreation hall, has displays on the local bauxite-mining industry. The large, iron Christianburg Waterwheel stands as a reminder of the town's sawmilling operations in the 1800s. To the west, near Rockstone village, Gluck Island is known for its water lilies and abundant birdlife.

Nice! Big up. The roads there need to be thicker in depth to resist wear and tear, due to heavy vehicles. Linden is the gateway into The Hinterland regions.

Dam what happen to my old hood when I left there was only three area's Breezenia, back scheme and the south Amelia's by the highway and front scheme the rest of the area was bush , but don't get me wrong I like that more people move there and build out the area but there was no planning in the new housing scheme to match how the first ones was built so the place just look confusing to me and a hot mess there's no pride in the community. I left 45 years ago it looks worst now than when I lived there😭😭😭shame

hmmm, so you remember the Lover's lane area where they had all that white sand? That was at the far end of Amelia's Ward. Also, across from the bus shed, the main highway went through it and there was more bush also and a decent sized squatting area. My family moved from Amelia's Ward and moved across the highway into the squatting area. I wonder if the squatting area is built out now since it has been some years since we left for the US?

What a beautiful well paved road. Guyana is on her way to being properly developed into a first world country. All drains are clean , no potholes, no bushes, Guyana looks so beautiful. We are the new Dubai. lmfao.
