I've had the Ulanzi BG-2 for quite a while now and it's awesome, the only thing I wished it had was a power level indicator - which yours seems to have, so I guess I have an older version. It's quite heavy, but that does mean you can use it to help stabilise a tripod on a windy day. I use mine for all sorts, including with my 3D pen!
Thanks for posting. Am now seriously considering. Question: Where did you manage to find a cable with right angle A connection and straight C? I've been trying to find one for ages and no luck.
Hey Rich. All your videos are very helpful and informative. Did you get hands on BG - 3? As it's not available in official site, but available in few other websites. Planning on picking one. Do you have any info on that? Thanks
Great. Thank you. I was wondering what I could add to my stick as I am on a motorcycle. Problem solved, hopefully. My only concern would be about how much bending would it add to the stick? Love your reviews.
I would put it at the bottom and run a cable up - at the top would double the camera weight and put a lot of pressure on the 1/4” thread. Thanks for watching
Nice pick, thanks for bringing it up. Cable and selfie stick: nice idea with the velcros, myself has good results in winding the cable around, which also allows for a certain degree of changing the extension of the stick
Neat idea. Definitely something to use with right angled connectors and tight cabling to reduce visibility. I'm thinking this will also be a good powerbank to use with a standard GoPro? Anyway thanks Rich, informative video.
Mine just arrived today, and for my workflow, you nailed it: I’m going to use it on a Hero 9 with the Media Mod, with a selfie stick, but only using it to charge my camera’s battery so I don’t have to connect a long cable. I also heard there can be major issues when shooting with an internal battery and the Ulanzi plugged in...overheating...which not only can screw up your footage here and there, but cause physical damage to your camera. Ever hear of this?
I know the one r has over heating issues without the power bank - but no I have t heard of any overheating issues - may just be with some cameras - just do a test beforehand. It’s a great bit of kit though.
@@EatSleep360 Thanks for replying. Interesting how the latest model of the BG-2 does have a power level indicator whereas the older model didn’t. I’m trying to find a selfie stick/mono stand where I can attach the BG-2, and I’m looking at the Ulanzi MT-16. (God bless Amazon and free overnight shipping!) I’ll check YT videos now, but I gotta assume there are 1/4” connections top and bottom.
@@EatSleep360 The NT-16 doesn’t extend long enough to use as a monopod (with those little feet) as well as a selfie-stick. Can you recommend a model that will, and/or do they sell generic standard extenders with 1/4” male and female connections to make these things longer?
I use the bushman monopod but it’s not cheap - there’s a link to it in any of my video descriptions. I use it because it goes to eye level and has a better tripod and counter weight.
@@EatSleep360 Thanks. I ordered the 16 anyway...I can always use it for something. It won’t be the first time I bought something I don’t use and just look at. I’m just curious whether the ball head assembly simply screws off so I can add the BG-2. Again, thanks for replying. I know that just replying to comments can be a full-time job for you.
im curious. can you put the powerback directly to the one x2 then put selfie stick under the powerbank so that u dont need long cable running even if the selfie stick extended...?
Yes you can do this - I haven’t checked the stitching doing it this way and it would be too heavy so I wouldn’t extend it too far but yes it should work
Unfortunately I had to buy from Amazon.com.au, due to not having to pay 10% import tax (GST) lots of TH-camrs forget about us Aussies.. Kudos for the video
Did you tried to measure a real time of recording with this power grip? Let's say: how many hours you can record with fully charged power grip and full battery of your camera OneR/OneX2. Spec capacity vs reality can be really different in some scenarios - maybe camera works with different voltage, there also some loses on power transfer, etc. etc.
The problem with the Go2 in the case is that the usbc socket is blocked by the selfie stick thread. You will need a 1/4” to 1/4” threaded extension adaptor - I’m not sure exactly what it’s called but you need to create a gap for the cable. Hope this helps
@@EatSleep360 i need to use a camera 360 on the rain on my helmet and keep charging because this cars are willing to hit me from behind. 1hr recording is not enough i need 10 hr recording. And in rain also with the rain 🌧️ heavy rains not light . I can put duct tape on the side but i need 360 i know go pro i can put case with charging but is only 1 side when i need to record every single side
Good question - tricky because of the USB port position - I think there is a solution - bushman panoramic sell small spacers and you might be able to use one to create a gap between the selfie stick and camera so you can get the cable in - not sure though
When you shoot for long periods it gets ridiculously hot but even after two hours doesn’t cut out. Getting hot is concerning but I’m not sure how much hotter it gets for longer periods.
@@EatSleep360 What would be your preference, the booster battery or this one? Also, I have seen reviews where it does not fully charge, have you experienced this problem?
For the one r probably the boosted battery - it records for 144min approx which is crazy. Depends what you’re filming and for how long. Bear in mind with the boosted you may need a cage if you’re using it for action.

I got this one via bushman-panoramic.com - drop them an email if you can’t see it. I’m surprised they don’t sell them on Amazon. Thanks for watching
Thanks for another great review. Is there a quick release 1/4 for 360 camera? Does it appear in the photos?
There are some out there but I haven’t used one myself
Nice video, but you dont say anything about the USB-C? Are both the USB-A and C to charge the camera or is one to charge the powergrip??
C input to charge the power grip - A- output to charge the camera
Hi I'm from Bangladesh, I will use it with a battery Or use it without a battery?
Best to leave the battery in as it will keep it charged up

Yes it will work on a GoPro

Yeah it would be good to make up several cables. Yes perfect for a standard GoPro and you don’t have to worry about the cables.
Great review! Is it not invisible to the ONE R either?
It’s too short to use as a selfie stick anyway but yes it would be better with the Max or one r
@@EatSleep360 Not too short if attached to my bike! 🙂
Yes good idea
Perfect timing on this review. Thank you for bring this topic up as I have been looking and considering this Power Grip.
can insta360 one x2 be charged while recording?? in which case it would be perfect powerbank
Yes it can
